Good to be alive. Although it is a very wet Sunday morning out there, the weather, here in SE PA, has been phenomenal the last week. I hope everyone gets to watch a little football, drink a little vino, and enjoy some great food with friends or family. Good morning BT. Wet day here in western Mass. Heading back to Big E for a few hours then back to reality.

Had a very sad call this morning from a very dear friend who we consider to be our 5th daughter. Her mom passed away around 6am this morning.
She called me at 620. Has been a very tough morning. Had to call Bethany and tell her. Amanda is her best friend. She is in NYC with Amanda now.

G just left to head back to GA. He went home and cleaned the whole house. If I don't vacume everyday there is animal hair EVERYWHERE!!! Well, it's been a week!! But, all better now

Looks like quite the day was had here!

We just got home from our weekend get-away. Gail, you asked what the Big E was...it is a fair that is held in Springfield, Mass that is represented by all the New England states. It is HUGE! We spent 3 days tromping around the fairgrounds, shopping, playing games at the carnival section, watching draft horse competitions, seeing chicks hatch out of eggs, going to the circus, watching our friends ride the elephant (not me tho! too chicken lol!), and a multitude of other things! Each state has their own building where they showcase goods and you can learn a bit about each state. It runs for 3 weeks Sept/Oct every year and it is just awesome. It was our first time going and we really had an enjoyable weekend!

The rest of the week will be difficult. Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. They are greatly needed. Amanda is only 20 years old and has had a trying life over the past 3 years. She spent most of her senior year in the hospital with Guillian Barre Syndrome and battled her way back from that with an amazing willpower. We didn't think she would walk again from the illness, but she fought and now gets around on her own quite well. She is an absolutely fantastic young woman and we always introduce her as our adopted daughter. She is godmother to the twins. I am at such a loss for her. Ken and I will be there for her, but it will never be the same for her. Prayers are needed. Please!

Thanks for letting me vent here, it is so helpful to be able to just let down with you and know that support is only a heartbeat away. Ken and I love all of you and appreciate this family that we have become a part of!
