Sorry, pictures are too big.... I need to download them to a different computer cause my laptop doesn't have the right program to resize them. I will try to work on them so I can get them posted.

Lisa, all you have to do is email them back to yourself, and your pc will resize them.

it was a really great day. barbara got a taste of some typical ohio weather...rain, clouds, a little sun, more clouds, cool, warm, cool again.

kelly and steve are great hosts. unbelievable food. they set the bar pretty high for future mini meets.

Okay....Karen and me had planned on surprising you folks and make it to this OMM but, the plans got changed and it bummed me out not to make it.

I hope everyone had a great time and I was really looking forward to meeting everybody.

Here lately missing out seems to be the norm....got to change that.

Steve and Kelly maybe next time.

HI !!!!!

The party was such a huge success ! I have no pics right now, I know Lisa has a group shot on FaceFart. Everyone showed up that was supposed to, except BH (who I'm so sorry I didn't get to meet/hug) and Tribsy Poo, who I really missed !
It was just great food, and a GREAT time, and Dan Jolly brought me some Bonaire Rum ! Those in attendance were fortunate enough to meet a real live Magistrate, Ann. :-)

Barbara and I had a great time, with the 'incident' at the McDonald's drive-through being a highlight. Not to mention the giant basket, the giant golf ball, and the 2,080 foot long (and 13 foot tall) hedge that spells out "Dawes Arboretum". We talked and laughed a lot and I already miss her. (So does Riley, she totally bribed him with gifts).

Yes, the big guy did in fact make it, and brought lovely buns. Big Guy was also a lovely guest, and was kind enough to point out in front of all my guests how wrong I cooked the tri-tip... lol... only Patrick !!! And then proceeded to inform me -- in detail -- how to do it correctly next time. Duly noted, sir. However, I would like to point out that almost 16 lbs of tri-tip DISAPPEARED very quickly ! lol ! The burgers and hotdogs got thrown away... I used a different rub for each one, I think the chili-lime rub was the class favorite.

Here is the "who was there" list:

Barbara Gibson !!
Kelly, Steve and Riley
Stephanie, Cody and Payton
Lisa, Ken and Ashley Barclay
Uncle Patrick
Pat Murphy
Dan Jolly
Ron and Judy Workman
Brian and Shannon Thomas (and Audrey and Garrett)
Magistrate Ann and Ruth
Sandy (my mother in law) and Jonathan

I enjoyed myself so much !! A huge thank you to all my guests for allowing me to enjoy your company.

I suck at cooking tri-tip....whew...I would have gotten a real ass whoopin' on my cooking technique! They would have had no choice but to eat the hot dog and hamburgers!LOL

It was great talking to you on the phone ! Wish you could have been there, though ! What a great group of people, everyone just meshed, as they tend to do at BT mini meets !

Kelly, you're an old pro at tri-tip... I have no doubt that you did just fine :-)
There's more than one way to grill a fine meal :-):-)

I'll second Tara's comment.....tri-tip was yummy! The kids (young and old) had a great time. Barbara was an avid student when it came to the rules and regs of cornhole and even survived the odd Ohio weather. She even needed her raincoat for a minute. Kelly is a superb hostess "with the mostest"; and so was that handsome hunk of Kitten!
It was great to see Pat Murphy again (we just met for the first time in February in Bon) and Dan Jolly too. Felt like I've known Lisa Barclay forever; such a sweetheart. Riley awoke from a long nap to a full house of guests and was looking like WTF? It didn't take long to get him revved up and running; squirt gun and all!
We had soooo much fun! Thanks again Kelly-girl!

Tara, I did 6 of them ! And they all had a different 'rub'. A few of the traditional Santa Maria rub. A chili-lime rub; spicy chipotle rub; rib rub, etc...... oh and freshly pressed garlic... my whole neighborhood smelled good !

it was a really, really great day. kelly, i can't thank you enough.

barbara drove to our house yesterday and visited with mary for a while. then she followed me to the rental car place at cleveland airport. she dropped her car off there and i drove her into cleveland so she could don her rain slicker and hat as well as her big rubber boots and sunglasses and i took pictures of her in front of the giant FREE stamp at East 9th and Lakeside in downtown cleveland. she got some strange looks from passers-by. one guy said something about the rain gear and i just said "she's from california". he shook his head and walked away...apparently that was enough of an explanation for the craziness. from there i drove her to oberlin college for her week-long piano repair seminar.

it was great. sandy, our bonaire neighbor, will be visiting us in about a month. the hour or so that i drove barbara around gave me all kinds of ideas of things to show sandy.

Thanks for posting those pics Kelly! Work was crazy and I never got around to it. We all had a great time. It's so amazing to finally meet people you have talked to for years but never met face to face.

Kelly is right, her whole neighborhood smelled amazing. We could smell the food before we pulled down the street. Wonder which rub I had on my meat??

The correct way to cook a tri tip. Sear on one side for 5 minutes. Then turn over and sear for 8 minutes. Then turn off the grill and let it cook through. Do not puncture, cut, poke, or slice !!! (I'm sorry, I cannot help it --- I'M A SLICER !!!!) But then again, my husband would probably eat doggie doo if I grilled it for him... lol...

It was so great to just stand back and watch everyone. The way everyone just chatted with each other like they have known one another for years and years, the way Riley loved being the center of attention... lol... it was just a really really nice day, and one that evokes happy memories for me.

So glad to share it with friends.

Vince.... I just now saw your post, and am definitely doing melted garlic butter next time. I put freshly pressed garlic on after the olive oil, but next time will skip that in lieu of the garlic butter, or maybe get kooky and do both ! Watch out !!!
