Morning Everyone! Had a storm go through here last night, knocked power out from 4am to a little after 7am this morning. Gregg had to take a swim in the pool for his shower this morning. Power went back on a few minutes after he left for work. Speaking of work, finished my last day last night, brought home all my stuff, was a weird feeling knowing I was not going back there again.

More rain on tap here later they say, going to try to get my walk in before it hits, very overcast, but the rain did cool things down a bit, only going to hit 81 here today. :-)

Good Soggy Morning PATRICK, Carl, Elvira, Cecil, Michelle, Krispi, Donna, Debbie and all to follow.

I had to wear my flip flops and roll up my pant legs to get into work this morning. It's been raining like it's in MA.

Terry got tomorrow thru Sunday off, so he and one of his brothers, Larry, are trailering their bikes to parts unknown tonight after work. It will be stormy and wet for them in Florida, but the weekend looks wonderful up in Georgia and Tennessee.

Well they say car break-ins only happen on Bonaire, I'm here to tell you they happen in the USA also. It started Saturday morning when I went out to my car in the morning and noticed something was not right. It seems someone had rummaged through my car. This car was in my driveway open, with the windows up in the middle of nowhere New Hampshire.

I was hesitant to report this without a police report but let this be a warning to never let your guard down. Here's a picture of some of the damages.

Damages

Yeah the little SOB had a thing for cigarettes and I can guarantee he was not old enough.

Well that was Saturday, I cleaned up the mess and found his little gerbil home in my glove box. I figured that would be enough to get him to move on. Sunday I checked again and more signs he was still there. So Monday at work I went looking and found him in a blanket in the trunk. The chase was on, but I caught up to the little ba$tard under the back seat.

I caught him by the tail, he was a little field mouse. After showing him to all my friends and chasing a few girls, I let him go. When I got back from lunch I noticed he was still where I left him. A few hours later he still had not moved and later in the day he died. Now I did not hurt him catching him, the only thing I can figure is eating a whole pack of cigarettes poisoned him. So the lesson here boys and girls is that cigarettes are deadly and it's incumbent on all responsible adults to properly dispose of these deadly poisons, possibly by burning in small quantities while inhaling deeply.

Wow Cecil, that little guy was addicted!

Krispi, I don't have any plans, but might go to Sarasota to visit a friend. She is working an off shore power boat race and may need help. But if it keeps on raining like this I don't know if the race will take place.

I also have a couple of projects I want to complete, and will have the time to do them.

Have fun at the lake.

Michelle, no thank on the heat. We'll get plenty of that the rest of the year. :-)

Krispi, :-)

Jerry, I'm here, had to vac the inground pool, had a big storm last night, found dozens of floating bloated little frogs in it this morning. That will not do, so it is all cleaned, vac'd and looking good again. Darn these storms. Pool even got a mole who must have drowned going for a drink, he was joining the frogs I guess. Either way, the woods has them all now.

Hi Ruth! :-)

Tiffany just skyped me from Bonaire. She had just finished her finals and if officially done with her Scientific Diving course! WooHoo! She is now officially certified for advanced, rescue and some other Dan course too with the scientific diving one. Now, she can just relax and do whatever she wants to for two days before heading back home to Texas. She's been on island for a month now. She did well and I am very proud of her. :-) Also, 4 college credits to boot is nice too.

Morning BT --- how fun is this thread --- so many have popped in :-)

HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!!!!

Debbie - congrats on the new adventures :-) Good girl on using the time to move it :-) I did 2 miles today too (a quick run on the tmill).

Sooooo..... here's our bummer for the weekend.....
due to the 100's of 1,000's of MJ fans and news peeps coming to Neverland Ranch Guy has been put on duty all weekend... the fire dept is up staffing and the sheriff's dept has even recalled and cancelled all vacations (they are really going to get hammered and they are really in a bad budget crisis... this will seriously effect their operations for a long time to come). Guy said they flew over the ranch yesterday just for pre-planning and it is already a zoo.
He missed the 4th last year due to a fire... looks like he'll miss it again this year :-(

Anyway... it's a beautiful day here and all are welcome :-)

Boom, I was wondering how you were fairing up there with all the frenzy at Neverland. The news was saying how they are ramping up the gov agencies to prepare for the WORST. Hospitals are on alert, all the hotels and Inns are packed. I think I'd be staying at home tomorrow, it's going to be crazy (as if it isn't crazy already)!

It's a bummer but not the end of the world. A friend who was a detective in Roseville, CA said their department charges anyone who commits a crime with the cost of resolving it... ie; convicted drunk drivers are charged with the cost of the responding police, ambulance, fire, tow and clean up. The SB sheriff's need to charge the estate for at least the cost of all the overtime.

YEAH Tiffany!!!!!

Ruth here are a few cocktails I was planning on trying -- from Katie Brown
Patriotic Punch
1oz Coconut Milk
1oz Dark Rum
1oz Hipnotiq
1oz Lime Juice
1oz Pineapple Juice
1oz Strawberry Puree
** Combine rum, coconut mill, lime juice, pineapple juice, strawberry puree and 1/2c crushed ice in a blender
** pour hipnotiq into a margarita glass and layer blended mix on top
** Garnish with a sugar rimmed glass or use shredded coconut

Fire Cracker Red Martini
2oz Vodka
1oz Vermouth
3oz Cranberry Juice
Fresh frozen cranberries for garnish
** pour the first three ingredients into a cocktail shaker or mixing glass with 2 ice cubes
** float 3 cranberries for garnish

Shooting Star
1oz Godiva White
1oz Blue Curacao
1oz Grenadine
** pour the grenadine first into a small cocktail glass or shot glass
** continue by pouring blue curacao and then the godiva white. this order must be followed to creat the layered drink

Boom, sorry about Guy being on call this week-end. We are just hanging out here for the 4th, certainly not traveling this week-end. Shore traffic will be terrible and it goes right by us to get there. Got a filet migon in the freezer that I think will get fired up on the grill and lots of burgers/doggies and will make some salads to go with. Easy and delish. Maybe see if my oldest son and wife will stop by sometime over the long week-end. :-) Need a Lydia fix. She is so cute. I know they want to come over for a swim if weather is good at some point, so that works for me.

Tara, was thinking about you and the chaos that will ensue over the next couple of days. I agree, they should most certainly charge the estate for any costs above and beyond the norm!

Well, I think Cynde has channeled me in her back issues. I put my foot down to step out of bed this morning, heard a snap and fell. I have a shooting pain going from my heel up to my lower back. It hurts to put any pressure on it at all. I hope nothing is broke! :-( I am sitting her with my A%% on a heating pad being waited on by the kids. If it doesn't improve off to the doctor I will go. We were planning to go to the beach this weekend but it's looking like that may not happen now!

Hope everyone else is doing well, later I will post some pictures of our trip to the Hoover Dam, it was really cool!

Jerry, can I join you under your desk?

Hi Linda :-)

RA, it's better to go to the doc sooner rather than later -- at least that's what my chiro always tells me. He can work wonders especially if I come in right away! I've had sciatica issues that have knocked me right on my butt - unbelievable pain. Don't wait!!!

I just was watching the breatheit site on my new big monitor... OMG now I want a separate computer just for that... to be going all day long on a BIG screen :-)

Hello boys and girls, sad that some of you aren't feeling well, warm hugs sent. Also am happy that the rest are otay.

Left home this morning under partly sunny (aka partly cloudy) skies and cruised to a wonderful place called Cabot. Ate at their wonderful buffet then left to continue travelling ever farther north but, heavy dew drops were falling and the skies had turned almost black so I headed east to St. Johnsbury, VT. and got on 91 south. About two miles south of St. J. guess what happened. Go ahead you'll never guess. Anyway only rode 200 miles total yet just got back to the shop. Can I borrow a towel?

I am riding Pam's bike "Dyna Beau":-) over to a local school tonight so she can get used to it in a controlled environment, i.e., deserted roads and large parking lots:-) Hopefully we can start doing some rides together - STAT!!! I know she is jealous of all the extra showers I get when I go out riding, need to fix that.:-)

Tom...did you remember to soap up before you went riding?

Pam...have fun riding Dyna Beau tonight! You just be careful!

Good afternoon all. Or maybe even good evening!

So Dyna Beau and Ginger need to forge this great bonding relationship if this whole biking process is going to work. Is Ginger OK with this? Up until now, she's been hogging the spotlight by herself. Personally I love her color - it's the same as our boat. But Dyna Beau is striking too. Can Ginger share? Inquiring minds want to know!

Carry on with happy hour. My WHN just called and something or other is down, so he'll be there 'til it's fixed...... :-(

Well boys and girls, it's time for baby Jerry to make his way to the coast. Invite Tom to Diner. He's got some of the best cheese in the world.

Old School cheese made by Cabot in VT, and only sold at Cabot made the French cry three years in a row.

Tara, Our police department is now charging groups that request our services if it causes an overtime situation. (I should say the town is charging...since they are the ones that do payroll) Certain groups are not charged (like when the Special Olympics was here), but most are charged. Fire and ambulance are all volunteer so there are no charges incurred for those services, but most times the group will send a donation.

I do understand what Guy is going through! And you too, as his love!

WOW! That is just amazing...I hope the critical care patients are receiving double the care that a regular patient receives. Our patients all receive our utmost attention regardless of whether they are critical or not. We treat equally no matter what the person's ailment. IMHO it is not fair to treat one differently than another and certainly not to charge more. We don't charge anything...

Well, my FedEx driver (he's the one who told me about MJ in the first place) told me that his buddy (who is a big whig at the local trash/waste company here) has just delivered over 100 porta-potties to Neverland Ranch.
Could be something, could be nothing.

Ruth, our fire/police don't charge anything (it's covered in the taxes we pay). The ambulance co is private and charges at the drop of a hat. When I first met Guy, he and his department were in a huge war against AMR taking over all ambulance service (and getting a 9% profit guarantee)... the fire dept lost and so did the community :-( Now we still pay taxes but also have to pay the private company.

I think that charging convicted drunk drivers, speeders, murderers, etc for the cost of convicting them is spot on. I don't however, agree on charging per pound!!!

I completely agree, Tara. Why should the taxpayers be burdened with the costs that are incurred. It is not right. If someone does something wrong, they should be charged with it.
