Gail...I do not get the idea of the 1st day if he had something done then left to go eat gross Mc'D's then went back the same day...then again today..
The MD must be doing a couple different procedures.
A stress test usually involves a rest image then the trdml then the stress images.
(a 2 day protocal is nice because you can use higher doses and the pictures are better)

Some MD's like to do what is called a "viability" scan if a person has a HX of MI and they want to see if there is "revascularization" of the effected heart tissue. With this procedure...you do the stress 1st then return in 4 hrs for the resting images the return in 24 hrs for MORE resting images..

So, I am interested in what they are doing to him...If the place he is having it done is a large facility they may have a website..if so, can you pass it along to me?

Either way..they stress test is a very benign procedure and although it is a PITA, he will do fine!!

Don't want to read about any of you having a heart attack or taking a high side fall.

If you are having troubles and don't believe it will get better, do believe that I believe it can and WILL. Not everyday is a sunny walk in the park, but any day we don't give in to demons/voices/dangerous vices, we have a chance.

Anyhow was supposed to be off today and Monday but, that got pushed to next week.....so next Friday MBH and me and maybe a few others are going to go ride part of the Blue Ridge Parkway I have rode it from Staunton Va to Mount Airy NC and part of it from Asheville south but, want to be able to say I have rode the entire 400+ miles
if you ever get a chance to ride this road instead of the concrete slap it is well worth it...and make sure you take your camera.

THE BAGPIPER

As a bagpiper, I was asked by a funeral director to play at a grave-side
service for a man who had no family or friends. The funeral was
to be held at a cemetery way back in the country, and this man would be
the first to be laid to rest there.



As I was not familiar with the
backwoods area, I became lost; and being a typical man did not stop for
directions. I finally arrived an hour late. I saw the backhoe and the
crew, who were eating lunch, but the hearse was nowhere in sight.

I apologized to the workers for my tardiness, and stepped to the side of
the open grave, where I saw the vault lid already in place. I assured
the workers I would not hold them up for long, but this was the proper
thing to do. The workers gathered around, still eating their lunch. I
played out my heart and soul. As I played, the workers began to weep. I
played, and I played, like I'd never played before...from "Going Home"
and "The Lord is my Shepherd" to "Flowers of the Forest ." I closed the
lengthy session with "Amazing Grace" and walked to my car.

As I was opening the door and taking off my coat, I overheard one of the workers
saying to another, "Good Grief, I never seen nothin' like that before,

OMG..you guys, we just got some TERRIBLE news!!

We have some dive buddies Sharon and Shorty..people that we have gone diving with, went to Bonaire with..these are just really good people and are a lot of fun.
Apparently Shorty just didn't wake up yesterday..this guy is young and healthy, strong...
I am being told now that he is in ST. Thomas in Nashville and has viral Meningitis. His brain is swelling and he has no recognition of the people that are with him..


His wife Sharon must just be completely DISTRAUGHT!!

PLEASE, PLEASE BT...send out some prayers, vibs..thoughts..what ever you feel comfortable with. This is just horrible!!!

Gail, I went through the whole nuclear stress test, treadmill, rest, carotid artery ultrasound, the whole gamet last September. My dad had his first MI at 52 with a double bypass, so, since I had just turned 51 and was feeling like •••• all the time my GP ordered the series. Other than my BP being at like 200/175 at the peak (eek???) all else was fine. I hope John's comes back with flying colors and open arteries!

OK, off to the salt mill...sorta running late again today...

wow Gail...very strange indeed. I would never make someone eat and wait 3 hours for the resting images.
The test is just as good the way they are doing it...don't get me wrong. Sounds like their radiologist is just into a little overkill there.
I wouldn't see any reason to put a patient through all that time. Strange indeed.

OH well, glad he did well on the treadmill. It is a long boring test for sure!

Tink, with numbers like 200/175 don't go to the salt mines - make donuts instead.

The other major heart group in town does their's in one day. If you remember, a yr ago January he had the stent for an 80% blockage, and this followup is to see how the 40% blockage is doing. So he was kind of nervous. And in the last 6 months we've fallen off our strict dietary rules and have slackened on our exercise..... so we've both gained bunches of weight. Need to get back in shape for Bonaire next month.

Gail, give John my love!!! One day we'll all have to get together again...if G ever gets a day off...that has stopped again. They lost Dodge, but still have KIA and he's staying pretty dang busy. This is good, but I sure do miss him...

Linda, my resting BP is fine, but at the peak of the stress test that's what it was...the doc ENDED the stress test at that point...can you say STROKE? lol. Then they made me lay down until it went back down. There was a really cute guy working there and I told them that if I fell off the treadmill during the test I wanted him to help me up...LOL! Then of course, I had to ask if anyone had ever fallen off the treadmill during the test...LOL...that would be a yes...

When I broke my back, and on one of the ER visits from pain, BP was like 185/150. The nurses were like "uh, do you have high BP?" I said "now I do"...they gave me good pain meds and guess what, it went down...I TOLD YOU IT HURT DAGNAMIT! lol!

I did call in sick, my tummy was acting up yesterday, and today it's really acting up. Maybe it was the case of wine I had last night?

PS...lol..that's terrible...but funny...but not funny for you...LOL. doc said a lot of the "elderly" fall. I was at the gym one time on the eclipse machine, and the treadmills were lined up in front of the eclipse machines. this gal got on the treadmill and was running. she dropped her towel and she started to bend over to pick it up, while still running...i was thinking NO NO NO NO NO DON'T DO IT...well, she did it and fell...ended up flipping around when she bounced, and landed crotch first into the eclipse machine. i wanted to laugh cause it looked so dang funny, but held it, we asked if she was ok, she's like yes, i'm find. got back on the treadmill for like 30 seconds then left...then i laughed...to myself. what a visual...
