Good Morning BT'ers..

I am glad it is finally Friday!

Donna..nice photo!! and TY for your post yesterday about Annemarie..I am very proud of her and I hope she will keep on...movin' on!! She is a hard worker and Hopefully now that she is going to HS, she will work harder. I have told her about your daughter and hope to help her see how many wonderful opportunities there are...if you have time over the next couple of days..would you mind PM'ing me and giving me some details about your girl going to BON, what got her there and so forth. AND the new opportunity she has to go to Guam. I want Annemarie to see the progression of her decisions and what it opens up for you. Does that make sense?
Thanks so much!!

well, I hope you all have a great day! I am off next Monday and Tuesday and Annemarie wants to go to the lake to camp on Sunday and Monday. We usually camp on the boat. It is fun.
Then she leaves Tuesday for Colorado for 8 weeks...

I am guessing that I am the same as a vice principal so you can hug me any time, Tom. My students and mums do it all the time but I think it is because I look like I need it rather than being young and attractive :-). However I am willing to take surrogate hugs for the rest of the teaching profession.
I had a lovely birthday. A group of us went to the races on Wednesday evening and had a picnic. Bob and I won about £45 (Bob won the £40, I won £4.75 LOL)
On Thursday I had lunch with my mum and dad at the farm shop, yummy.
I got a Tanzanite necklace to go with my engagement ring that was bought in Bonaire from Bob. I am getting a new handbag with money from mum and dad. My bro and his family got me the new Cat Stevens CD. My staff bought me a necklace and matching bracelet and some vouchers for Marks and Spencer and my best girlfriends bought me some spa vouchers.
I don't worry about getting older because I love birthdays so much. Big hugs and candles to anyone sharing this birthday week with me.
Thank you for all you good wishes.

Good morning from rainy Mass! Just finished getting the twins together (breakfast, dressed and hair done x's 2!!!!) They are absolutely the best traveling companions! We are having a blast with them and all their little chatter. Laughing a lot! Really need that!

The graduation was good except for this lady who was annoyed at all the kids that were in attendance. She happened to be sitting right in front of us and kept fixing the cellophane on the roses she had with her. An usher came up and told her to stop playing with it as it was distracting all the others. She said "tell all these people to have their kids shut up" and then turned and started yelling at me that kids don't belong at functions like this. The twins were not being loud at all. In fact they were probably the quietest ones in our area. They whispered when the wanted something and were coloring. I gave them some tic-tacs to keep them occupied and the lady turned and yelled at Ken that they shouldn't be "eating" and Ken said "excuse me?" Then this guy with her (big bully type) says "you want to take this outside?" Ken and I just ignored them. Then at the end all the other people around us told us how good the girls had been and that those people were completely out of line. Whew! I was beginning to think I was out of line! The lady had me almost in tears. Especially after having driven 6 hours to get here to see my BFF graduate after years of trying to finish between being mom of 3 and wife and all the other hats she wears! Well, it was a nice evening otherwise and I didn't let her ruin my night. The bigger picture was not about her or kids, it was about all those people who had worked so hard!

Pictures coming as soon as they are downloaded here!

Hugs to all

....oh Skippy! Did you get your mail?

I love Quinn's teacher! I love being able to joke and chat with her. And at the same time she is his teacher and the 2 are kept separate - eg she doesn't give him special treatment because I get along with her. I hope Quinn has her for SK.

I hope Riker and Keddle have her too!

So, allow me to share my exciting experience from yesterday.
Annemarie wanted to show her dad the lake and the boat. The boat is "the Annemarie".
Anyway.
When we go to the lake, if we find an illegal and/or unattended "limb line", we will cut them down.
Everyone know what a limb line is? hang a line from a limb with hook and leave it to kill birds and water mammals...yep, thats it.
They also snag SCUBA divers and Kayakers.
SO...in Tennessee, you have to label your limb lines and fishing jugs with your name, address or phone , and license# or it is illegal and they will ticket you if they catch you.
SO...if they are unattended or "illegal" we remove them.
Well, yesterday, we got "caught" by an owner of some of the illegal lines.
One line we pulled out had a rotten catfish on it. It was on the line since before we started flooding over 2 months ago. It starved to death! makes me very mad!
I told them if they were properly labels we would bother them. They were very mad.
We are now hoping that when we go back this weekend, we still have a boat...haha

Morning - almost afternoon. Looks like things are going well today. Good for you Ruth for letting those folks just be whatever it was they were trying to be.

Glad we have some good "eyes" and they are healing. I'm up for making the chocolate cake.

Krispi - good reading about Annemarie the past few days - you should be EXTREMELY proud of her. There was one young lady that received an award at graduation because she had not missed a day of school the entire 12 years - HOLY MOLY! If you ever want to hear Stephanie's story to relay to her I would be more than happy to share. Her "time abroad" was a semester at SEA where it was 6 weeks at Woods Hole and then 6 weeks sailing from Cape Cod down to Tobago and then up to Saint Croix. They would stop the boat in various places and take samples and do their project work. It looked AMAZING!

Weekend plans are...farmer's market, bfast at Applebees as a fundraiser for an education trip, planting something, weeding some other things, taking pool water sample to our pool store in another city, also taking the pool cover that now needs to be repaired - dogs run on it during the winter, moving furniture, starting to clean another room, steam cleaning carpets, drinking some beer and/or wine, and who knows what else. Ahh - the "cram as much as you can into 2 24 hour periods and call it time off work" type weekend - LOL!

OK - I gotta run - the paying job is getting in the way.

when we go diving, we could tie ribbons around the hooks..put something around the hook so it will not snag mammals or water fowl.
I would just rather cut them off though, haha

Good afternoon all. No Canada for me, we solved the problem and now I don't have to go. Win win.

Ruth sorry about the a$$hat but what you gonna do, punch them out, no satisfaction there and probably some more parole time. Or to paraphrase Mr. Churchill, in the morning they will still be a$$hats and you will be in jail with sore fists.

Fishing line is a diver's bane. When I used to go fresh water diving I would always bring home a pocket full of monofilament. Not so much in salt water. Seeing fish with hooks is the most heart wrenching, but a few years back, I saw a bass with a hook in it's mouth and it was gone two weeks later.

Krispi, Yes, there is good advice with Rafe. He is doing wonderfully and is now in 10th grade...FINALLY!!! I thought 9th was gonna go on til his 30th Birthday!!LOL
The new school and Karate have helped him tremendously. But, AnneMarie reminds me so much of Kayla and Olivia. She's going to be fine!!! She will go far. And having the positive support from you and your family and her dad, that's going to really help her. HS is hard, but not hard for everyone...As they told me at Rafe's HS before we took him out of there, "It's hard, but not for everyone. We still have the good kids that try hard and they do go far in life."
THAT is AnneMarie:-)

Speaking of Bruce, we just saw him two weeks ago in Hershey, PA and last Saturday night at the Izod Center in the Meadowlands, north Jersey. He did not do Jersey Girl, which shocked me.

Breaktime so,

Morris and his wife Esther went to the state fair every year, and every
year Morris would say, 'Esther, I'd like to ride in that helicopter.'

Esther always replied, 'I know Morris, but that helicopter ride is
fifty dollars, And fifty dollars is fifty dollars'

One year Esther and Morris went to the fair, and Morris said, 'Esther,
I'm 85 years old. If I don't ride that helicopter, I might never get
another chance.'

To this, Esther replied, 'Morris that helicopter ride is fifty dollars,
and fifty dollars is fifty dollars.'

The pilot overheard the couple and said, 'Folks I'll make you a deal.
I'll take the both of you for a ride. If you can stay quiet for the
entire ride and don't say a word I won't charge you a penny! But if you
say one word it's fifty dollars.'

Morris and Esther agreed and up they went.

The pilot did all kinds of fancy manoeuvres, but not a word was heard.
He did his daredevil tricks over and over again, but still not a word.

When they landed, the pilot turned to Morris and said, 'By golly,
I did
everything I could to get you to yell out, but you didn't. I'm
impressed!'

Morris replied, 'Well, to tell you the truth, I almost said something
when Esther fell out, But you know, fifty dollars is fifty dollars!'

Back to work, CYA - POOF

omg... can I just get a gentle hug pleeease....
first I've come down with shingles - sure makes that sinus infection a piece of cake. I've never had shingles before but my god it is evil!!

Then I just realized that I charged a customer $9,614 for a $96.14 sale. Fortunately I discovered it first but not in time to just void the sale.... no, no, no it's already been processed - costing me $354.00 in credit card fees and now the refund will cost the same.... sooooo this $96.14 sale has a net loss of somewhere over $500.00 and I look like a total dumby to a good customer.....

Thank god it's time to go home... but of course laying down hurts so I guess I'll just stand up and drink...........

sorry for the blah blah blah but this shingles crap just sucks and hurts and wears me out!!

An oral medication should be started ASAP! (that from my "doctor") He says that the vaccine can be administered later, but does not help during the acute phase. Know that we are thinking of you!
