Hi Everyone,

What's the weather like now and what's it expected to be from April 18th to 25th?

I'm taking my first trip to Bonaire with my Dad next month.

Can't wait!

Any recommended "must-dos?"

Thanks.

Greg: Welcome to Bonaire Talk and to you first (never last) visit to Bonaire.

In short - you need to extend your stay by a few months !

Check threads under Diving Bonaire, Dining, Everything Else and others for similar topics where many suggestions for dining, dive sites, must-do's and all are posted.

Diving must do's include but not limited to:
1. Night dives in Bari Reef area
2. Hilma Hooker
3. Boat to Klein Bonaire to dive

Surface interval must-do's include:
1. Donkey Sanctuary
2. Washington Slaagbai National Park
3. Mangrove kayak / snorkel

Dining must-do's are too numerous to mention but include:
1. Pasa Bon Pizza
2. Bobbejan's barbecue
3. Free Rum Punch nights

etc. - far to numerous to mention. See what others have to say.

Gregory, welcome to your newest addiction.

I would be very careful with a must-do list. On our last trip I had a real desire to do Angel City to the Hilma Hooker which is a great dive, well the morning we did it, surf was up but the entry did not look bad so we did it anyway. Well the visibility was pitiful and the dive totally sucked. The lesson here is that if we had not had the mindset to do that dive that morning we could have headed a little ways north and found perfect conditions, no surge and premo visibility.

Remember the whole west coast is open for diving and most of the sites are very similar and there are no bad ones. I swear my best dives on Bonaire have always been near downtown Kralendijk.
