OMG, I used to be part of a team of instructors that taught the north country sheriffs depts. ice diving and rescue.... truth be told... I don't miss that at all... but my secret was, once I went through the hole, I just kept my face down and thought about Karpata.... ah yes..
Now I've joined the ranks of warm water wimps... except for Spring when I dive for my mooring... and the occasional lobster dive on the wrecks in Provincetown harbour....(illegal) sorry they won't let me get a licence anymore... but I only take one for dinner... :-)

Good morning kids.

Well it was a hell of a weekend here, my friends can cook, drink, and know how to have a good time. Pic's will be posted soon. Mr. Chef preped for hours, it was a blast to watch. Miss Chef had everything planed out so her prep was not to bad. Louise and I had most of our things ready to go.
Being around these guys is nothing short of a big breath of fresh air, you smile all the time.

Louise put it right, "A weekend like this is a keeper".

Good morning everyone. Cloudy and about to rain here. Allergies on the rise since all the trees are in full bloom now. I haven't sneezed this much in a long time! The rain should help keep the allergens down in the air.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. :-)

Glad you had a great time Jerry. Donna, are you flying out of Newark on Continental?

Last night, 12 of us ate at a really cool little Italian restaurant, not that far from my house. It is also a BYOB, which I love. I had their Osso Bucco. I always gauge Osso on Becco in NYC, and Capriccio, on Bonaire. It was right up there with them. The risoto at this place was tremendous too. He did his with porcini mushrooms.

Carl... usually these days I go in Sept... I like late Aug, but I get a real nice value in N.Truo the new condos up by the winery... I used to tow my boat out and leave it in the harbour.... then could dive when I wanted... got buzzed a few times by small sharks at 80' with 2' vis.... whoa that'll change your day... but I didn't give up the lobster..
Have a nice pic of shark at Witches Hut @ 7AM 3-4 yrs ago... Aud.... love those sharks I can see...lol

Hi, Kids. It's Shift Change at my mom's house....my sister got here last night and I can go home today! This has been a hard haul for me....I'm missing my own life a lot right now. I can't tell you what a good friend RosAnne has been, calling me with every silly piece of news she can to keep me in the real world.

But, Mom is doing better in the PT department....walked all the way around the block yesterday.....and I have some leads on household helpers she might actually accept, so we're making our little baby steps along the path.

I might even go diving one of these days.....

Donna, glad you are having a better day!:-)

Jerry, I SO want pics! Sounds like a wonderful weekend.:-)

Barbara, have a wonderful day today. How nice to get to go back to "your life" and have your sister there to take over for a while. Sounds like your mom is doing great!:-)

Tribs, LOVE the kitty pic!! I did my pastel portrait of Bas over this morning. It only took an hour. But since I posted it on my blog, I can see things that need to be fixed. Like my mom says, we are our own worst critics!!LOL

I hope everyone has a GREAT Sunday!! I don't know what I'll do with the rest of my day...I certainly have lots to chose from here in my studio and since I've been feeling artistic again, it'll be a good day!!:-)

Morning Everyone!!!

Pictures!!! Jerry Jerry Jerry!! can't wait :-)

Poor Rasta does not like having the vet and techs hold her down to get at the vein in her neck --- I so hope we don't have to do that again any time soon. We'll see what the tests say tomorrow. I think she's doing better -- she's had her Happy Tail (up and wagging!) back in form lately.

CB, so so so glad that you get to spend time at home. And happy to hear that your mom is making the baby steps. I just can't imagine how either of you feel right about now.

Donna, you're heading off to Paradise --- think only that thought :-)

Jim, sounds like a fun night.

My dinner came out really good last night (and for breakfast this morning)...
2 chkn breast and 3 cloves of garlic sauteed till browned in 1 T olive oil
add 1 yam (cubed) to carmelize the outside
add 1 red onion and 1 1/2C ckn stock
cinnamon
mace
cumin
cloves
cayenne pepper
simmer for 20 mins
add 1 bag spinach and handful of bacon bits
wilt
top with shredded aged white cheddar cheese

It was soooo good! Now I'm full and it's only 9:30am.

If money weren't an issue I'd throw the dang thing away and get a new one! I hate it because it is electric... hopefully by the end of summer there will be a nice new gas stove :-)

I am exhausted from my weekend home and still have my entire kitchen to re-paint. I forfeited that in order to go continue the make-over at my sister's house.
We have 3 more weeks to get r done while she's away. BIL has been good help and Rylan was somewhat cooperative yesterday while we worked in the basement. She had a bee up her butt most of the weekend though LOL!
We have a long way to go but we'll get done what we can and then call it done :-)

I found some furniture, on Craigs List, that we're going to buy for their bedroom.
It's only 45 mins. from me so will go check it out this week.
http://charlottesville.craigslist.org/fuo/1045273825.html

Will consider that buy our donation to the project. We have the same taste in decor so I know she'll love it.
She will appreciate what we've done and it's been fun to do this while she's gone :-)

I am SO gonna need a vaca after all this though as will my Mom!!!

Rob's mom is on a vacation in the middle east. Jordan, Israel, Cairo, and several other hot spots. She's gone for 3 weeks.
I sign on to check my mail and read this!!!!

http://www.comcast.net/articles/news-general/20090222/ML.Egypt.Blast/

Her itinerary is at work!!!! I think she's already been to Cairo and Bum F***, Egypt but OMG now I know my whole family is a wreck! We were nervous about her going over there anyway but can't stop an 81 year old woman from traveling.

It' a double Crown kinda night, gang!

Denise,
Thanks for posting your link.
I am always perusing blogs and Ann has done a fine job with that and her website.

Thanks, PS! I need to go vote as well :-)

I am just NOT motivating off the couch today at all. Rob wants Chinese for dinner so I told him to call and have it delivered cause these flip flops aren't made for walking tonight!

I'd say some Crown is in order after your weekend and now this!

Yep, I just told Rob to break out the BIG bottle tonight :-) He's like but that's the expensive sized bottle. I replied, WTF does that matter? I need it dangit! LOL :-)

Oh well, I am sure my MIL is safe but just hated to read that article and know Rob's sister is a wreck now!
She said she would only call us if she had an emergency. They are staying one night in a bedouin camp somewhere; doubt they have a phone there :-)
She has bigger glitters than I do for sure!!!! I would never go but she has always wanted to go to Jerusalem so she is!

I just have to laugh at the stuff going on in my life the last few weeks! My sister's 8K miles away in Manila and Rob's mom is in Bum F***, Egypt and touring the middle east. Nah, no stress at all worrying about their safety!!!!

Needless to say that's part of why I am the way I am LOL!
OK, so it's only a small part :-)

That's pretty inspiring tho...at 81 and still traveling to places like that. GOOD FOR ROB'S MOM!! But, she should so stock up your Crown supply before leaves!

Rob, Rob, Rob...Have a drink!:-)

I just noticed I have a "follower" on my blog!! Some guy in Italy!! How nice:-)

Yes, PS, I totally agree. I am going to recommend that prior to any future exotic departures for the MIL. Pre stocking is mandatory LOL!

Hmmmm, Italy? Does he have a villa we can do a house exchange with? LOL!

Well, guess who's gotta get out of their jammies, dress and go get Chinese take out? Moi!
Next time it's rock, paper, scissors!

I wonder if it would be too painfully obvious with my yellow, flannel Yorkie jammie bottoms and a T shirt? I may can pull it off :-)

Racing's about the start too! This is just so wrong!!!

It's ok to laugh Kobi, we sure did. :-) I saw a plaque at a bird store once that said something to the effect of: Only speak in front of your bird, what you would say in front of the town gossip. That is sooooo true!

I made it to the restaurant, & back, in my jammies and nobody knew anything different :-) Flannel capris, T shirt and flip flops. I was SOOOOO praying there would NOT be a license check! There is the occasional check on our main street but tonight I was safe :-) I would have hated to explain my attire to the occifer :-)

:-) I am bad but in a good way LOL!
I pull the jammie run quite often. Always tasteful jammies; nothing with feathers or see through.
Speaking of "thru's"....drive thru's are great BUT there is going to be that one time I have to get out LOL!

I dropped some change one time and the gal was like are you going to get that?!?
I replied, uh, I am in my jammies so NO!!!!
You're welcome to it and I could have cared less how much it was. I wasn't opening the door :-)

P.S., I am LOL here:-) No, really!!! I just looked through all the pics from Saturday and the fall MM because..... I didn't remember there even being a microwave oven in Louise and Jerry's kitchen:-)

Judy, can you verify something? M.F. told us that she had never made her scallops with grape and almond sauce nor the prosciutto wrapped asparagus. I FOR ONE, DON'T BELIEVE HER:-)

Hey Skippy, when one considers all the time you folks spent smoking duck, playing keep away with Caymus (thinking truffles here), sweet balsamic sauce as well as that wonderful creation you put on the lamb - mmmmmmmmmm, the four hours I spent burning my lips while tearing the boiling bags apart with my teeth ain't nothing:-) The blisters I got on on my lips from doing still hurt!!!!

Well, all good things come to an end. I just spent an hour and a half slowing bnow:-( JOY!!!
