Good Morning all!

I have to go out this morning and buy the boys some shoes... For some reason their feeties decided to grow overnight... Have a great morning!

I'm up! I finally turned this thing on. I've read lots of 'posts'. Happy New Year to everyone! I'm getting along really well with my new dog, Willy. Not even one accident in the house. He is the best dog in the world! I'm so glad I picked him. (or did he pick me?) He is a medium size with a BIG dog bark! That is just what I wanted. He loves ALL the other pets & is my constant companion, always right by my side. PS posted pictures of Willy. I have lots of pictures, all IN my camera. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to get them onto the computer. (hey, I do good to just get the computer on!) I guess it's true...you can't teach an old dog new tricks. PS has spent hours (DAYS maybe) trying to teach me how to do these things. I don't think there is much hope for me. I'd starve to death if I hadn't finally figured out the MICROWAVE! SMILE, it's a different year!

Thanks Jerry. Tiny Noel barks like a squeeky toy. That wouldn't do much to scare someone away. I really feel better having a BIG bark in my home. There are just so many 'crazy' things going on in the world now. This is a big house to be in alone. Also, I needed to get some exercise. I sure am getting it now. We walk ALOT! I love pets. They are so much company & all they ask for is love & food. Oh, I voted too.

Hi Jaci - seems all is good with Willy. Two of my four leggers decided to be "friends" on New Years Eve.

This is Boo, one of my "maybe" Jack Russell's and Monty who was our "lost" cat.


I managed to wake up for the New Year but next year by gosh we will be doing SOMETHING. Made a wonderful pork loin, potatoes and asparagus and then apricot - orange glazed pears for dessert. It was really yummy.

OK - last day of work this week - wake me when it's over.

Good morning all, and a special welcome to Jaci. Great stuff about your new fur baby.

Going to get a passport Donna. I always tell the story when I went to get my passport, you need three things (along with your driver's license) a birth certificate, a picture and an application. Well I was 0-3. The piece of paper I was carrying around for 50 years was not a birth certificate but a birth registration (a few countries had previously accepted it). My picture did not have a white background (passport picture taken by Sears) and as an added bonus I had Sue's application.

Made it through New Years night....had a great time in the mountains....sorry forgot the camera.

I think this year will be one for the books and I intend to have as much fun as possible and hopefully get in a few extra roadtrips....what I really wish is I had the time to do....3 month trip and stop in everyone's town....sort of a BT around the states tour. Morning all! No kitten yet. At 4:00 am I thought we had caught it. I was woken by Artemis screaming at the top of her lungs while sitting on the table and looking out towards the garage. When I looked out, I saw a HUGE orange and white cat looking into the hole in the garage. I was sure it was looking at the kitten in the trap...but no. Drats! Hopefully today. Maybe I will catch it after Becky arrives so the vet can help me look it over (shhhh...don't tell her that!).

Jaci, so glad Willy picked you. He is adorable.

I thought we were going to lose Charlie yesterday. When I went to feed, Bubba (Great Pyrrenes) was bouncing around like a maniac wanting to play. So I was going to oblige him, but Charlie (Beagle) decided to attack him. It was horrible. Bubba was such a good boy. He really tried to just warn the little snot off. Bubba got bit over his eye and that was enough. He grabbed Charlie in his mouth, had him in the mid-section, and Joe threw his body between the two. I was so afraid. I was going to dive in and grab Charlie but he was so vicious. I had on my huge work boots, so I tried kicking Charlie away (gently and on the butt), which did not work. I pushed Bubba away with my boot, but Charlie went after him again. If Joe had not thrown himself into the mix, I think Bubba could have snapped Charlie in two. Charlie got a serious time-out. Bubba got his eye cleaned and a beef raw hide. I'm amazed at how tolerant that huge dog really is. I hope we never go through that again.

Tribs, did this happen at KARE? How frightening for sure. I watched hours of the Dog Whisperer yesterday (love Cesear) and they had a pit bull who was a "red zone dog" that got into several terrible fights....

Yep. Charlie does not know how small he is. Thankfully, Bubba knows how big he is. I felt horrible because I'm usually the one to throw myself into the fight, but I just knew if I picked up Charlie, I would be bitten. I think I am still a little bite shy since the bobcat got me.

Morning/Afternoon Everybodddy! Got work this afternoon and tonight, had yesterday off, was nice.

Tribs, that had to be scary, glad it all ended reasonably well.

Nothing exciting to report, just cleaning up the house from holidays, Tiffany went back to Texas this morning, house is a lot quieter now. Hubby is off today too, he gets a 4 day week-end, hardly ever happens.

I had to run in to the office for a few for a customer emergency. That's where I am now. I was mobile when I got the call as I had started out at the bank making a deposit and then going to pharmacy to pick up drugs and that's when it happened! The cell rang
One of my OEM customers needs a motor pronto and it has to ship to MD! I told him, what part of Holiday don't you understand?!?! LOL

eek Niki! I thought of you on Wednesday, Michael and I went to lunch in San Juan Capistrano, then went for a walk and found a "petting zoo" on one of the off roads. They had four lamas...it was funny, the lady asked "just you two" when we went to pay the entry fee and buy some feed for the animals...lol..."yes, just us two big kids."

They had bunnies and guinea pigs, goats, little ponies, lamas, a big tortoise, cow, a couple of ostriches...it was fun. I liked the goats best. They LOVED to have their backs scratched.

I just saw the kitten. It was out in the sunshine in the back yard. It looks like it might be missing part of its tail. I do hope it crawls into the trap soon so I can get a good look at it.

Jaci, how nice to see you on here and how you love your new doggy. I actually thought I was going to get one for Christmas, but I didn't. Hubby decided he needed a few more weeks to convince me of taking in a doberman, but I AM NOT!

I want a little foo foo doggie. I want an eensy wincy baby.

My MIL (Mother in law) was here for the past 3 days with her Cockatoo and Amazon Gray Parrot. The birds LOVED it here. I was sad to see, at least Ceasar, the Amazon Gray, go. Princess, the yellow cockatoo says hello every thirty seconds or squawks, but has her moments of talking nice, the silence is good now. lol But my MIL loves Princess best, and she loves to be out and snuggles in my MIL's arms and cackles like a chicken and talks like a baby. She is my MIL's baby. Ceasar surprised me and imitated my chuckle. lol He did it several times. His chuckle is my voice. But he is Larry's bird, all he wanted to do was sit on Larry's shoulder wherever he went. I have pics, but they are on Larry's camera.

Larry and his mom cooked NY day's traditional dinner, (because she's seen how much I do and how larry seems to sit there and be waited on!), and we watched movies. Unfortunately, we ate too early NYE and we watched the newest Mummy movie, and I fell asleep after. Talking in my sleep when they tried to wake me up sleep. Larry, his mom and my best friends could NOT wake me up for the midnight hour. I woke up at 12:15 very PO'd at myself. So am I going to just sleep thru this year? lol I hope not.

Was great the way Cali Kitty and the birds got along, with the birds out on the lanai. Princess said hello to Cali about 10 times, and Ceasar just meowed, then said, "Good Doggie". lol Cali was like, "Whatever, mom...are they permanent?" And she sniffed a little yellow feather and it got caught in her nose. lol I got it out. She was respectful and there was no fear between the birds and my cat.

My MIL left the other big cages here so they can live on the lanai when they come, mostly out of the cages, on top or roaming around the lanai. They had a big time with the herons, ducks, ibis', moorhens, and those little yellow bellied birds that just winter here but land on the screen. And oh the pelicans. Ceasar tried so hard to get the white pelicans to talk back to him. But he was calling them with a whistle, like calling a dog...didn't work.

My SIL and BIL have a bird. He's a small green parrot and doesn't jabber much He's a good, loud squawker though. YEOW on the ear drums!
I think he could improve his vocabulary if they worked with him more. Nice birdie though.

I don't have any pics here but my SIL, I am sure, does. He was here recently visiting as they were in transit with him.
SIL/BIL have had Birdie for almost 10 years and they had someone who wanted him and they were not giving him the time he deserved. The new owners made it a week and called my SIL to come get Birdie LOL! New house did not work out.

Seems their 2 doggers didn't care for Birdie and they were barking their heads off. The new owners were distant family that live in PA so our house was 1/2 way to their meeting point. A few weeks ago they came here to spend the night and the next morning they met to retrieve Birdie.

I will ask for pics. He's a handsome little guy; just wish he wasn't so loud and had a better vocabulary. He was here, at our house, for a few minutes and my dogs went off the charts LOL! Don't think my terriers would like a bird as they LOVE to chase those that land in the yard LOL!

Niki, a couple of the llamas let me pet their heads...that's about it....LOL! One wouldn't even give us the time of day. Now the goats, I told Michael I want one...I wish we had property...I was walking around the goat coral with my vegetables singing "yodelaheyodelaheyodelahehooo"...I'm sure they thought I was nuts....

Hey, I'm the new Florence Nightingale of kitties at our house! It's a testament to the sweet nature of Max, the cat, and of my intuition. I took him in the bathroom, and gently applied about 6 rounds of hot wash cloth, and PRESTO! the wound emptied out. WHEW! I am so proud of myself, saving going to a vet, which involves driving to another city, btw.

Today feels like a Monday for some reason, holidays have me all messed up, doesn't take much. Ha..

YEOW, we paid those stinking taxes the first of December!!! UGH....made for a nice early Christmas present!

The cool thing, Kobi, is Max didn't try to wrestle me or scratch. He didn't raise a paw! The wound is under his jawline, so holding his head from the back and pressing the washcloth from the neck was not too upsetting. I was very gentle, too. Now instead of hiding in the back room, he's lying at my feet. Feeling a lot better. I will do it again later to make sure it's still draining.

Rob has his suitcase packed and he's getting ready to head to his Mom's for the night! He's going down to our hometown to stay with his Mom and then will spend tomorrow with his brother. There were grumblings of the boys going to another gun show.....sheesh!!!

Hopefully he will also go by my Mom's tonight to see Miss Rylan. She's spending the night with her Grammy Thankfully my Mom and Rob's Mom only live a mile apart!

So, T minus 15 minutes and I am FREE! I will surely find something to get into Trouble is always close by!

Hi All..nice family day here.....first me and Andrea went and picked hubby up from dropping car off for breaks then we(Me and Andrea) APPLIED FOR PASSPORTS!!!!

Hi guys and gals. I've been pretty much MIA with family! But reading to catch up on y'all when I can.

Danielle did not go back to Maui today as scheduled. She came in and woke us at 5 am, and felt too sick to travel today. So we rescheduled her for 8 am tomorrow, to give her another day of rest, to kick the butt out of the cold/flu bug. (Couldn't she wait until at least 8 am to make this decision??) But we all went back to sleep and didn't get up until nine!

So we're having to get up at 5:30 tomorrow morning, to have her at the airport at 6:30 for her 8 am flight. UGH!

We just watched WALL E together - what a cute movie - but America does need to go on a diet!

So it's a good thing that we'll have the girls here tomorrow night, to fill the vacancy of Danielle's going back to her life! It's been a great 2 weeks. And she told me tonight it's getting harder and harder to leave the family, so there is a light at the end of the tunnel! She's THINKING of moving back to the east coast! Same time zone = good!

Bad day here, won't go into it but a few people close to me are having hard times in various ways and just wish I knew how to help them. If only my fairy godmother didn't take my damn wand away! I could use some magic myself I guess.
