Morning PS and all,
I'm one of the luck few in my area with power. So, I'm way better off than most. For me it's clean up of the two trees that disintegrated under the weight of the ice. See FB. The weather is not cooperating. It's getting colder and colder. By Monday, wind chills of 17 -20 below zero.

We could put the tree up together and have some eggnog and sweat! I'm just glad that you all are safe. Happy that you have power and HEAT!!!:-)

Morning all! We were hit by that mess yesterday but we were in the "mix" zone. We got snow, then sleet, then thunder, then more snow. Yuck! We are supposed to get hit with an arctic blast tonight. Oh fun! Wes and I are headed to Indiana today to see his family for Christmas. We'll waive as we drive by Steve. :-)

I'm supposed to be grading finals instead of celebrating the holidays, so I am going to take a couple of TripTone (thanks Patrick) and hopefully I will be able to grade in the car. It should be a fun ride!!!

Happy shoveling BTers!!!

Bummer Donna! Wrong season for that to break. Wes broke our shovel last year so this year instead of buying a snow blower, he bought a steel shovel. I can barely lift the darn thing.

Hi Pegi Sue! I voted. :-) Patrick, I'm hungry.

I most definitely could have eaten a big ole country breakfast this morning. Instead I had coffee and trip tone. LOL! Driving there will be interesting. Wes' sister refuses to take the toll ways, so we are leaving at the same exact time to see which route is faster. WE of course know the answer, but she insists that back roads are quicker (even though it takes her 4 hours to get there and takes us about 2 1/2 hours).

Hope all the s@@w is done for everyone, more than enough for some of you all. We just ended up with lots of rain and then more rain, finally stopped, so I "should" be able to take off this afternoon. :-)

GLad to hear all you NorthEasterners are alive and well and bnowslowed out :-).

We got about 6-7 inches of the white s%$t yesterday, and it never really quit. I shoveled off my deck (well most of it... well, part of it:-)- ok, enough for the puppy to get out of the house when she has to "go") last night and this morning it had another 3/4 inch on it. Now it's picking up and another 6-10" are on the way by tomorrow evening. Sheesh... I'll need a second job just to pay my neighbor to plow!

Tribs and Wes - be careful! Check in when you get there, OK.

Kiwi - glad to see you here, sorry you have such a mess to clean up.

Eileen - sorry to hear about the kidlets:-(... stay in and stay warm. Make them some chicken soup:-)

Becky, c'mon lady, admit it, you really want some.

W.H.N. dug a tunnel around the back yard for Boris. If she didn't do that.... the s**w at the bottom of the steps would be yellow. Fortunately, the Jack Russell Terrorist "Sadie" is small enough that we just hang her on the clothes line (pulley type) and move her out away from the house a bit. When she barks, we look at the snow underneath her and if it is ..... um, dirty, we reel her back in. Might not be a acceptable form of "walking the dog" to some but, I don't have to leave the house and get my feet covered with s**w, just so she can go potty.

Cynde - I told you she was earning the nickname Miss Thang! :-) She is part piranha, I swear. She lost two of her baby teeth chewing on Jingles the other night, LOL :-) She's a really good puppy, though... getting the hang of things quickly.

Cynde - it's looking like a whopping case of hip dysplasia... probably will need surgery fairly soon to prevent it from becoming disabling. I will be sending x-rays off next week for the radiologist and surgeon to take a peek at and give me their $35 worth (I wish it were only 2 cents, lol)

LOL Timmmmmy - my younger brother used to say that all the time when he was a little kid :-)

HELLO!!!!!!!!!

Debbie --- I'm so hoping that you just mean that Ginger is at someone else's house.... my gosh that's a terrible post and run!!

Becky --- she's a beauty and Jingles is great with her. Rasta had terrible dysplacia. That's why she's a $2500 mutt with one good hip held in place with pins :-) Worth every penny and then some!

We had a lot of fun last night at the Lipsticker's Christmas party -- good food and friends
the gang
We didn't get any pics of my $10 dress except this one.......
hahahahahahaha
My fancy schmancy hose kept falling down :-) OOPS!

I've been reading through my cookbooks this afternoon just waiting for that perfect recipe to pop out.

Close Freddie, real close. Came home to a pleasant surprise, Ethan and Jen were here:-) Got to talk to them for a while then started dinner a little while ago. Pork roast, baked potatoes and ginger/honey glazed carrots - mmmmmmmm comfort food. WHN is making peanut butter and chocolate bars the house smells wonderful.

P.S., I decided to have mu shi instead of soup. I like the way the veggibulls feel tween my toes:-) Want some?

Johnny Smack a hard*** - ROTFLMAO HERE:-)

Timmy, that is runny right there, I don't care who you are.

Jerry, I hope you have a safe trip home Buddy. The roads up here are glazed. Thankfully, the town is only using sand at the intersections right now. As cold as it is salt won't do any good and I really don't want them using calcium chloride for "my" sake. Nope, I just drive a little slower - no problem.

Beck-ee, give that girl a proper name, she ain't going nowhere:-)

Nice Pics, Tara... there seems to be some (ahem) inappropriate touching going on in the front row.:-)LOL

I think it's finally time to get myself in gear and get something accomplished. Ugh... what a lazy day! And the sn*w keeps coming down:-(

Boom, your hair is down to your BUTT!??????

God I envy you. :-) Aren't you even in the group pic?

OK guys, my days on BT are dying down, I see that. Today I'm just grieving and thank God I have a good husband, a great best friend, great family, and wonderful daughters, though my phone is dead now from all the calls and is plugged in, but I don't think I'm going to answer any more calls today.

There's a song I can't quit playing over and over, delayed grief, I suppose...but this song has reminded me of my brother ever since the day 13 years ago he told me he was HIV positive. He fell into this relationship with a radio DJ, Ginger in the morning, after he got out of a 6 year stint with the Marines, and I really hoped it was what he needed. But she was severely bipolar, and left him with a son to raise alone at 9 months. I guess since I've been talking to aunts and uncles all day explaining what happened to him, I'm drawn to this song. She gave him loving that his body couldn't handle. I was so worried for my sister and my brother during the 80's when AIDS became rampant, and it actually touched, no TORE apart our lives. Sorry, I'm Downer Debbie tonight? lol Jerry, thank you for telling me I'm not but I know I am. xx

But if you get a moment, listen and watch this:

Love you all.

mmmmmm..... Tom I love the way you cook :-) may i have a choc/peanut butter bar please?!!!

Yeah, Becky.... time for me to shag it too. I made it to the gym this morning but that's the extent of my productivity. I have to get over to a friend's holiday boutique and then the farmer's market. I want to cook, cook, cook!!

See ya'll later :-)

Kathy you're really not a DD --- by coming here with your worries and fears we have a chance to help. Even if it's only to listen and say we love you.
I've lost so many friends to aids --- every male that I worked with in Wash DC (restaurant business) died of aids. Horribly painful. They were my only family for so many years during the breakup of my first marriage. It was excrutiating not being able to ease their pain.
So come here and vent as much as you can.

Yup, my hair is just about down to the bottom of my back. I was growing it to donate for Locks of Love but now my hubby Loves the Locks. I guess I'll keep it till spring - then it's getting sheared!
btw- I'm in the back row 2nd from the left. :-)

Okay, now I really do have to go or my name will be mud with my friend - only 2 hours left at her boutique.

I had a visit from the Queen of the Lake. Eileen's friend, from Canada. We have 5 white pelicans on the lake today. Here's one who got close at sunset.

Pretty pelican --

Kathy, chatting isn't all goofy jokes and silliness.

Real life is always welcome. No matter what.

One of the natural cushions we have when we're in grief is the friendship, support and love of people around us who can identify with our pain and can help bear the load, because they're not in pain at the same exact time. Then later on we find ourselves in the reverse position.

I have found compassion from BTers during past loss and it helped me bear up. I hope you will stick around to whatever degree you want, and the virtual hugs will be here.

Heartfelt wishes, Niki

Hugs Kathy...not a downer...that's what friends are for...listening...encouraging...hugging...praying for each other!

My day was good.....Daniel, Amanda and I went and did some last minute Christmas shopping and grocery shopping, went to McDonalds and did a gift exchange with my best friend in a parking lot because she was on the way back home from the hospital with her Mom who should NOT have been released!

Kathy, ditto to what Tara, Niki and Donna already said. Lost a cousin and a few friends to that insidious disease myself. It's tough watching once healthy and beautiful people slowly wilt and suffer.

Kathy, what you did for Ron is the hardest thing anyone ever has to do for another. It prompted me to start the paperwork required in this state to legally prepare and register my Advanced Medical Directive and D.N.R. Order. When the day comes that I can not communicate my wishes, I do not want to place anyone in the position you were in, nor do I want anyone to have the power to go against my wishes.

I listened to the song - thanks.

Hugs and wishes for inner peace going out to you.
