Good morning all, no rain, frost or s**w here in the UK this morning. Coffee is on.

Had a horrible day yesterday with packed underground trains full of people coughing and sneezing and cancelled trains on the way home then no seats and it took 4 1/2 hours to get home from London. Aargh - at least I am on holiday now until Monday.

Good Morning Brian!:-)
Thanks for the coffee and the links!!:-):-):-)

Glad you are on Holiday after yesterday. I wouldn't have liked that AT ALL! I don't do crowds, and sick one's & stuck with them...that would've been too much for me!! But you can relax now for a few days and be happy:-):-)

I have been up for a while. I FINALLY got my cookie dough made. It has to sit in the fridge for 3-4 hours, so by 8:30 I better be makin' some cookies!!:-)
I've never understood the craziness over cookie-dough ice cream, but I just tasted this stuff I made and I think I get it now! Dang, that stuff is GOOD!!!:-)

Wonderful Brian! Glad you have a few days off now!! WooHOo!

PS - Morning! I am coming to your house for some cookies! Looooooooove cookie dough ice cream...

We had the Christmas Concert for Quinn. He did great. I have 4 pics, normally I would have cropped other kids out, but the pics are dark (still have to lighten them) and the faces are blurry and really you can't make out how the kids really look like (I know them from helping out.) That and I wonder how many other parents are posting pics of their kids on FB and my son is in the photo. And I myself post pics of my kids.

3rd pic is that of the VP... I made Riker stand there so it wouldn't be so obvious... and Joel was next to me. Sorry I couldn't get a better shot ladies. 4th pic is his class room, see the pretty snowflakes, I made them!

Yes Debbie, I got out with ease.

Seems the BIG STORM will cross half the US, hit the east coast and explode into a very powerful storm once over the water. Then it's going to track NE. How nice.

A 5-year-old boy went to visit his grandmother one day. Playing with his toys in her bedroom while grandma was dusting, he looked up and said, 'Grandma, how come you don't have a boyfriend now that Grandpa went to heaven?'
Grandma replied, 'Honey, my TV is my boyfriend. I can sit in my bedroom and watch it all day long. The religious programs make me feel good and the comedies make me laugh. I'm happy with my TV as my boyfriend.'
Grandma turned on the TV, and the reception was terrible. She started adjusting the knobs, trying to get the picture in focus. Frustrated, she started hitting the backside of the TV hoping to fix the problem.
The little boy heard the doorbell ring, so he hurried to open the door and there stood Grandma's minister. The minister said, 'Hello son, is your Grandma home?'
The little boy replied, 'Yeah, she 's in the bedroom bangin' her boyfriend.'
The minister fainted.

The Lone Ranger and Tonto are riding through one of the many canyons when suddenly rising from the hill on their right are hundreds of indians. They start to spur their horse forward when they realised that there are hundreds of indians ahead of them. Wheeling to the left they, once again, see hundreds of indians rising from the hill. They begin to back away in the direction from which they had come and they realise, they were surrounded. The indians had spread out. They were trapped. The Lone Ranger turns to Tonto, his life long friend, and says "Tonto, my friend, I think I must say that I have treasured our times together but now I think we are doomed".
" We?" replied Tonto "What's all this we, Paleface?"

A young man who was also an avid golfer found himself with a few hours to spare one afternoon. He figured if he hurried and played very fast, he could get in 9 holes before he had to head home. Just as he was about to tee off an old gentleman shuffled onto the tee and asked if he could accompany the young man as he was golfing alone. Not being able to say no, he allowed the old gent to join him.
To his surprise the old man played fairly quickly. He didn't hit the ball far, but plodded along consistently and didn't waste much time.
Finally, they reached the 9th fairway and the young man found himself with a tough shot. There was a large pine tree right in front of his ball - and directly between his ball and the green. After several minutes of debating how to hit the shot the old man finally said, "You know, when I was your age I'd hit the ball right over that tree."
With that challenge placed before him, the youngster swung hard, hit the ball up, right smack into the top of the tree trunk and it thudded back on the ground not a foot from where it had originally lay.
The old man offered one more comment, "Of course, when I was your age that pine tree was only 3 feet tall."

A teacher is explaining biology to her 4th grade students. 'Human Beings are the only animals that stutter,' she says.
A little girl raises her hand. 'I had a kitty-cat who stuttered.'
The teacher, knowing how precious some of these stories could become, asked the girl to describe the incident.
'Well', she began, 'I was in the back yard with my kitty and the Rottweiler that lives next door got a running start and before we knew it, he jumped over the fence into our yard!'
'That must've been scary,' said the teacher.
'It sure was,' said the little girl. 'My kitty raised his back, went Sssss, Sssss, Sssss' and before he could say 'Sh*t,' the Rottweiler ate him!

Wow, Freddie, you made look at our forecast, same as yours, half as much snow, but lots of freezing rain. Not good, going on for a few days and it better not stop me from going to Texas on Saturday. Hubby will have to drive me to the airport, I don't drive in ice, nope, I don't even try. Did it once and I still have nightmares of me and 4 other vehicles ice boarding on that darn ice, couldn't do anything, just spinning round and round till we all came to a stop, luckily, none of us hit each other, I had 17 miles to drive home in that stuff back then and I think it took me forever and a day to get home, when I did, that was it, I never ever drove in ice again. It wasn't icey when I went to work that night, it was when I got done working and came out, everything had turned to a sheet of ice.

Once at Wally World I used the self check out and was buying some electronic thimma-jig and the instructions said to rub the item on the red star. I rubbed the box on the red star on the screen. Then I got to met the door checker and test the alarm system.

Two reasons (in defense), cheap way to lighten my hair and the red star had long since been rubbed off the check out table.

Issued at: 11:23 AM EST 12/18/08, expires at: 7:30 PM EST 12/18/08

Winter storm watch remains in effect from Friday morning through late Friday night,
A winter storm watch remains in effect from Friday morning through late Friday night.
The winter storm watch is in effect for all of southern new england.
Snow is expected to develop from west to east late Friday morning or early afternoon. The snow is expected to become heavy not too long after onset. The potential exists for snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour Friday afternoon and evening. Roads during the friday afternoon and evening rush hour will likely be snow covered and treacherous. The snow should taper to snow showers across the interior during the evening hours, but the steady snow will likely continue along the coast well into the night. Additional powdery wind driven snow accumulations are possible well into Saturday along the coast due to ocean enhancement.
At this time, it looks as though most of southern new england has the potential to see 6 to 12 inches of snowfall by midnight friday night. Marthas vineyard, nantucket, block island, and perhaps even cape cod may see rain and sleet mix in with the snow from time to time late Friday afternoon and evening. This could cut down on snow accumulations there.
In addition, strong winds are expected to develop on the coast late Friday afternoon and continue into the night. This may result in near zero visibilities at times along with blowing and drifting snow. The strongest winds are expected on the cape and islands.
This snowstorm is still about 30 to 36 hours away so everything is not set in stone. If the system tracks further north or further south than currently forecasted, snowfall amounts would likely change. However, at this time, it may be wise to plan ahead or make alternate plans for Friday afternoon and evening/s commute, as present data indicate that it will be snowing quite hard by then.
A winter storm watch is issued for the potential of accumulating snow of 6 or more inches in a 12 hour period, or 8 or more inches in a 24 hour period. Anyone traveling in the next 24 to 36 hours should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to modify travel plans should winter weather develop.

Be safe Jerry
Evening Everyone!!!

KIV you'dda be so proud of me.... last night my friend and I did a little retail therapy - she's a shopper extraordinaire!!! We got Guy a new sport coat and some shirts for a Christmas party tomorrow night... she knew his size better than he did (we called to ask him his size but purchased what she thought was right, and it was :-)). He really likes everything I bought and it was all on sale big time at Macy's. Then today I went to Ross to get a dress for tomorrow --- ended up with a dress ($10.00 can you believe it??? $10.00 dollars!!!!!!!), two pairs of shoes, a new purse, a bunch of hair thingys, and a gorgeous red wrap -- all for $80.00!!!!!
I kept checking to see if I was wearing a black belt or a brass bra but no, not yet. I must have years more training ahead of me :-):-):-)

It's been dead quiet here today but that gave me a chance to get caught up on a few things like filling out my wish lists on Amazon, Macy's and PierOne for Guy :-) We're only doing little things this year but the wishlist shopping has been fun today.

Can I have a cookie???
and a beer!!!

Aging Aunt Mildred was a 93-year-old woman who was particularly despondent over the recent death of her husband. She decided that she would just kill herself and join him in death.

Thinking that it would be best to get it over with quickly, she took out his old Army pistol and made the decision to shoot herself in the heart, since it was badly broken in the first place.

Not wanting to miss the vital organ and become a vegetable and a burden to someone, she called her doctor's office to inquire as to just exactly where the heart would be on a woman. The doctor said, 'Your heart would be just below your left breast'.

Later that night........ Mildred was admitted to the hospital with a gunshot wound to her knee.

When I came into work this morning, there was the smell of gas BAD. The gas company came out, he came around our office with a detector. Held it to the vent above my head, and it went off like a fire alarm. Appereantly there is a BIG leak just outside of the building. Then, we get this email from the building manager (it is going to be 40F tonight):

quote:

As most of you know, there was a leak found in the gas line for the 903 building today, so the gas has been shut down to the building and we are in the process of locating replacing the broken part of the line. For obvious safety reasons, we cannot turn the gas back on until the repair has been completed, which may take two or three days.

This means that we will not be able to heat the buildings during this time, which means the building and water will be colder than usual. I recommend that you remind all employees of this so they might consider bringing a warm sweater or jacket to wear during the repair time in case it gets cold.

I'm wearing my dry suit to work tomorrow.

You may want to consider a lovely yellow suit from Tara, for everyday-wear

Krispi, That video reminds me of my ex-husbands family. Glad I escaped without too much damage.

WOO HOO Tara!!! You made me proud, girl :-) I love ROSS and the prices are the bomb too!!! Glad you found your Guy some things but more importantly that you found you some nice new things. Good going!!!!
Enjoy tonight too; sounds like a lot of fun.

Cynde, YIKES on the gas leak! We had one of those at work, a few weeks back. Remember I had to do an all nighter and you guys kept telling me to go home?! LMAO!
I had to stay and maintain a no poot zone :-)

Hope that gets fixed quickly and you're back in your comfort zone soon. That will surely affect productivity :-)
More puppy cam time in your future; me thinks.
Another closed toe shoe day for you?!?! :-)
I flip flopped today and I swear I'm gonna do it till there is snow on the ground!!! Pfffft on ol man winter.

Hi Linda!!!!

PS, hope that you get Rafe schooled somewhere.
School of hard knocks isn't the best place though but I think we all did some time there :-)
Hugs from me!

He's enrolled in a private school that has 7 students per teacher, completely closed in, so no walking off campus, and it has GREAT recommendations from kids that went there. So, this is the next step. We HAD to do something, and this is all we could think of for now. I think it'll help.
And he's so happy here. We sit together every night and talk. Tonite we had YouTube videos on and we sang together. "Picture" w/ KidRock and Sheryl Crow & "If You See Him/Her" by Brooks and Dunn w/ Reba. It was fun:-)

Rafe went to private school from kindergarten thru 8th. They kept them so closed in, away from the real world, a lot of the kids have a VERY hard time adjusting once they get in public school. There's so much out there and they aren't used to that. I tried to explain that to Big Daddy back in the day, but he didn't listen. Today he actually said "YOU WERE RIGHT" to me!! That is a first!!:-):-)

Prayers that he'll adjust to the new school environment and that he'll thrive there and at home with you! That is great news!!!!

Um, your daughter has decided it fun to tear the heads off of some of her toys and pull out all the stuffing!!! Thankfully she doesn't ingest it as I don't wanna pull the stuffin' from her bum :-)
It's great timing as my Oreck decided to have gas LOL! Hopefully it's done and I can use it here shortly.

We're going out of town tomorrow for Rob's birthday. We just going back home and spending the night with his Mom. We're all going out to dinner tomorrow night at a great restaurant; Annie Moore's Pub. My brother in law, Rylan's Daddy, is the head drink slinger (bartender). I am seeing a few free drinks in my future LOL!

Pegi - you most definitely are right :-) My mom sent my brother to a school in Florida called Howie Academy - his roommate was Niel Diamond's son.

Kobi are you pouring??? I'm ready!!!!

He's a slow learner. Took a divorce and 15 more years, but he's catchin' on!!LOL

What I like best is that this man has never treated me w/ any respect at all. But he sees how Rafe is doing, I guess, and it's different now. He's being nice to me. The other day he was supposed to pick Rafe up from school and I told him "No yelling, no being a smart a@@, just talk to Rafe, that is all you are allowed to do." And he said "yes mam"!!LOL
Of course I had to tell Rafe the same thing....and I, of course, got the same answer from him.
You know the old saying...
IF MAMA AINT HAPPY, AINT NO BODY HAPPY!

Thanks. This school isn't like the other private school he went to. This is FOR kids that are having a hard time in the public school system. From what I've seen at that HS in the last few weeks, there's a lot of kids that need some help. Kids are scary these days!:-(

Kobi, Brody has done that to all of Calypso's toys. Tonite I think that C had enough of it and they got into a fight. Scared me to death!!! But Calypso walked away with what was left of the toy!!!:-):-)

Dang I am gonna hang for a few more with you guys and then I have to pack, cook for the girls and hope my Oreck runs! Our house/pet sitter will be here with the girls for the night since we're heading home tomorrow afternoon.

Mom's got a nice cake made for Rob; can't wait to see it. She has done Rylan's B day and Rob's Mom's B day and the cakes just are the BOMB!!!
Dinner will be awesome; Rob's fam and my Mom, Rylan and my sister :-) 12 of us total will get to hang out tomorrow night. WOO HOO!!!
Saturday we're going to breakfast.
My sis has to work all day so Rylan gets to hang with her Grammy and Auntie Kobi. RETAIL THERAPY training day for her for sure LOL!

Rob's going to spend Saturday day with his brother; they are going to a gun show. If he comes home with ANYTHING else that resembles a firearm he's in a pile o poo! He's after ammo now so we can go play soon.

I'm after some time at Tuesday Morning, Target, a few local boutiques and soaking up Rylan time!!!! I have a few more gifts to buy and my hometown has some really unique stores so there I will go :-)

Really sounds like you made the best decision for Rafe and he'll do well I am sure. You're a great Mom!

Uh oh....sorry about the furboys fighting! That is scary. Bits and Bubbles got into it today in Rob's office. Bubbles doesn't bow to Bits but then Bits doesn't back down either. She's almost 12 and still has some whoop arse in her :-)

I'm glad Calypso saved the toy! Bless his heart. Bubbles never messed with the toys until now. Must be a toddler thing now that she's one LOL!

I still have to find something for my momma. I just don't know what yet. Today G called and said Christmas day we are going to St. Augustine for the day, to walk around. I told him "I'm not leaving my momma alone!" And he said she was going w/ us!! So, that'll be fun. And she is actually excited about going. YAY!!:-)

Rob's Mom is still left to buy for and I'm just at my wits end about it. She needs nothing and wants for nothing so what's a girl to do?!
She goes on a trip a year and this year it's to the middle east; Egypt, Israel, Jordan, etc. Nothing like a vaca in a political hot spot LOL!
Departure in 2 months so maybe some trip goodies are in order? I dunno but I will have to get that done while I'm home this weekend.

She loves to go out to eat with her girlfriends and drink Bahama Mama's LOL! Gifts cards are impersonal but are good for eateries so she may get a few of those. We're not exchanging with my side of the family; only Rylan scores this year :-)

PS, sounds like you've got an awesome Christmas day planned. That will be nice!
Have a great night!!!!

Linda, we're just spending Friday & Saturday back home :-)
Rob's birthday is Saturday so we're going home to celebrate with family.
Been a few years since we have been together for his birthday.
You'd think I was going for a week though as my "to do before I leave list" is long LOL!

We're debating on going back and spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at home too.
The girls will travel with us then. Rob's Mom has been staying the night with Rob's sister on Christmas Eve. Since his Dad died, 2.5 years ago, she has done this which is great as she won't wake up alone on Christmas day.
She has invited us to stay at her house since she won't be there nor will her little Bichon. Our girls will love a new place to mark I am sure LOL! We'll have the house to ourselves. I'll be packing extra Crown for that trip I know :-)

Happy Early Birthday Rob!!!

You guys are movers and shakers - always up to something! And it's so nice that your MIL doesn't have to spend Christmas morning alone.

I'm going to move and shake it to bed in a few.

Good Night BT!

I'm going to shag arse and see if my Oreck will actually work. I will gasp if it doesn't as the house sitter will sit in a dirty house this weekend :-) Thankfully she works for me and will forgive me since today was payday LOL!

Goodnight, BT family! Hugs all around and sweet dreams.
