If I can get Ole' WHN to go here:

El Adobe to listen to this:

http://www.myspace.com/roadkillkings

That's what we might be doing. I'm Ok with this music, Ole WHN isn't such a big "Rockabilly" fan so we will have to see.

OR, if the weather is good, we will be here...
tuffy at two harbors

doing this
drinking wine...lol

Looks like a great plan, Cynde. Tuffy is so cute.

Ter and I have changed our New Years Eve plans twice now.
#1. We were going to Atlanta to dive with the whale sharks. Duhhh you have to plan ahead for that. No spots open for the dive that weekend.
#2. Some diving in the Keys. Ter was supposed to work that out yesterday while off from work. Not! Instead he planned our 2009 dive trip. . . to Yap & Palau!!! Now I just have to get approval from my boss to take 96 hrs of PTO.

We will be enjoying a nice dinner out without the kids and then coming home to usher in the New Year with them. We don't like to be out and about too late that night. Your plan looks marvelous!

Are you going to let her order cheesy chili fries too? You really know how to party!

Yes I am, Louise loves that orange waxy cheese that taste like a Tupper Ware lid.

Actually Jerry I've alway thought Tupper Ware Lids taste better than melted cheese whiz, but this might just be me, I do not have your palate.

We'll be staying home and having friends over, standard procedure for the last 20 years or so. Jerry come on up, we always have Hacky Pankys that are loaded with cheese whiz. I could special order some with Tupper Ware Lids.

We may go here: http://www.firstnighthaddonfield.org/

See the fireworks at 9:00pm and then head home before the crazies hit the road.

The last few years, I've gone into the City to tune for the Palace Hotel's Gala....three pianos, no trouble, lots of money...whiile Eric waits for me in their fancy/schmantzy lounge. It has a 30 foot mural, an original Maxfield Parish of the Pied Piper, commissioned after the Palace was gutted by fire in the 1906 Quake...it's fun to just look at it, and we have a drink when I'm done and chat and watch all the people filter in in their fancy grown up clothes.

Then we go home to a nice dinner and a good bottle of wine.

Traditionally, we bite the heads of a couple of chocolate Santas and wash them down with a Merlot for desert.

By 11pm, Eric's usually snoring, and I'm rummaging for a book...

Jingles gets to stay home for a puppy free weekend with his favorite "aunt Tina" aka my house/ranch sitter. He LOVES her (and so do the cats and horses) :-)

Becky, sounds like Jingles will have a blast! I'm sure Josie will have a good time at Trib's too. Sound like you girls will too with the wine. :-)

We rented a cottage on Sanibel Island for the night. We did it last year and had a great time. Walked on the beach and watched the last sunset of the year, and then walked the beach (in the rain!) to start out the first morning of the year. My husband's family tradition is to eat sauerkraut and pork at midnight so there was also some less than fun stuff in the middle which will be repeated again this year!

I'm always at home alone, or with the grandkids on New Year's Eve, because John has always worked it. But since he's in his new position, I'm not sure if his park will be open on New Years Eve. If he doesn't have to work this year, it'll be him and me at home with the grandkids!

Since Danielle will be home this year, all the young folk may get together at Josh's, or even gather right here at our beach for a bonfire. They've done that many times before.

I love hearing all the plans, whether they are home with loved ones, sleeping by 10, or doing something else. We normally do nothing. last year when we went to belly up with our bffs, it was a blast. I decided I wanted to do something local, so we won't have to drive far, but that will be fun. I LOVE live music, and this will be a VERY small venue, so it should be fun. Unless I can find something else close, I think the road kill kings will be it:-)

Oh my gosh, Cynde, that is so funny! Now I know where the tradition started! I don't think any of his family was Pennsylvania Dutch but they do live in northeastern Ohio so who knows. My stepson has been living in Pittsburgh for about a year. I'm going to have to tell about this place!

I haven't thought that far ahead, but my guess would be the same as always. G will work, get off when the last customer leaves (9, 10, 11), then I'll fall asleep. But I will make black-eyed peas to eat (very southern tradition) at midnight, when I will be awakened, take 1 bite of the peas and go back to sleep. I'm an animal!!!!LOL

Life is kinda on hold right now as I still don't have a surgery date, but my MIL has invited us to the condo at Madeira Beach from 12/27 to 1/2. We've done this several times over the years, and the Commodore has a GREAT hot tub, is right on the beach, and lol, is right across from a 7/11! (For lottery tickets and wine!) There are always fireworks on the beach. It's nice.

I HOPE that's what we get to do. :-)

Pat, my husband is from Canton, Ohio. I wish we could wait until New Years day itself for the sauerkraut and pork! I might be able to handle it then. At midnight, I eat a little bit to make my husband happy and try to fill up on appetizers through the rest of the evening. Of course, just staying awake until midnight is a chore for me!
