W.H.N. and kids are already up and the cats are in "Let's Fight" mode. "GET AWAY FROM MY LEGS!!!"
Over forty pounds of feline fighting like kittens (it's all play) makes me nervous:-)

Good Morning all!! :-)

I voted for Pegisue!! :-) :-) :-)

We have ice/light snow stuff here...schools are just on delay....was awakened by a phone call from a derm office that's using our office today to see whether they should come or not...not MY decision...just a lowly office worker who is OFF today!! I'm going in to help them connect to our wireless network and make some phone calls...then off to the hairdresser, the hospital to visit a friend's Mom who's in danger of losing her leg, then a Wal-Mart run and home to do some wrapping and baking.....whew...I'm tired already!!

Happy Wednesday to all!! :-)

Thanks for the links and the votes:-):-)

Patrick, glad you got your dutie done. Should make for a better day!:-)

Tom, I could make mud angels in my house!!! Two dogs, running and running out back, no grass left at the gate by the pool, Calypso tried to knock Brody into the pool, one wet foot, then rippin' into the house!! I don't know where to start cleaning...the pool deck, the back porch, the house? No matter what one area will be wet, then more mud!! It's crazy, but it's sure fun watching them!! I have 2 VERY happy pups!!:-):-)

Good Morning Everyone! :-)

Tom, sorry about the snow, we just got lots of rain here, thank goodness.

Got some good news from Tiffany this morning, her grades are in and she did GREAT!!! :-) :-) I am very proud of her, it was a tough semester with Ike hitting just as it started, then having to move to College Station, having some classes in churches, one of her classes, the prof. couldn't make the three hour drive and had to teach it online, lots of hurdles to just get an education this past semester and she really did well being out of her element. Was very hard for her and all the other displaced students from Ike to put it lightly.

Yup, one very proud momma right now! :-) :-) Can't wait to see her in a few days.

I stood out there this morning wondering why we never put concrete there. Then I looked at all these nice pavers G bought MONTHS ago, for something, wondering why they look so nice in that pile, just sitting there. If I had it in me today, I swear I'd level off the "trench" the dogs have made and use them!!!! Maybe I will...

I don't see the problem Jerry. If they don't plow you can make that house at the bottom into a drive through into the lake.

Those that don't know, Jerry lives on the side of a cliff.

My commute this morning was about as much fun as Bush going to a Iraqi shoe makers convention. There was a lot of ducking and weaving going on.

Hey no complaining, I was just telling Sue last night how I loved this time of year in middle California. The hills changes from a straw yellow to bright green. Quite beautiful. I have some pictures somewhere of a snow covered Mount Diablo (Mount Diablo is only 3000' or so) on a perfect clear day.

I like the idea of taking out that house at the end of the road and making it a new sled run to the lake. HEY FREDDIE, remember when you almost walked up their driveway thinking it was the road to the lake? LOL...ALMOST as funny as that night on a balmy NE Autumn when you scared the crap out of me...LOL!

There have been many, many cars that have gone on to the lake over the years.

When we first moved there there was a house at the end of the street, Note I said was.

Kathy...LMAO...omg, what memories THAT brought back. Living in DC years ago, I experienced our first ice/snow storm...I thought it was "beautiful" until I had to try to go to work the next day. On one hill...I did EXACLTY that with a few other cars...there were cars of in the ditch everywhere. Problem was, there were no alternates, it was a curvy road. Finally, I sat at the bottom of the hill and just cried...I finally made it, but I will NEVER forget it...LOL!

This morning there is a hill in Nashua, NH that is curved and slanted to the right and for some reason it was not plowed. There was three lines of traffic going up this hill at a time. I can tell you my fairly nimble little car could just make it up the hill without loosing traction and sliding off the road to the right. That would be a good thing but remember I am in the middle lane with cars on both sides and they are sliding as much as me. To all of their credit everyone that I saw made it to the top in their lane. New England drivers may be ornery but they are amazing in the sn0w.

HEY!! We have SNOW!!! just a lite dusting on the upper peaks but we have snow :-)

Debbie CONGRATULATIONS to Tiffany. That is such an amazing accomplishment for all the adversity thrown at her!

I'm about 2 hours behind everything here today but I got this in email and thought it might help to put things in perspective....

A Christmas Story for people having a bad day:

When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure.

Then Mrs Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more.

When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where.

Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered.

Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drank all the cider and hidden the liquor. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom.

Just then the doorbell rang, and irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree.

The angel said very cheerfully, 'Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?'

And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas Tree.

Jerry, I have guns :-) Will share too!!! Please get home safely!!!

O M G......I have got to get more of the Holiday spirit before I use my new WMD's. I am thinking somebody dropped a stupid bomb in town and it was inhaled by EVERYONE; except me of course LOL!

Seems people are driving with their heads up that orifice and it's just crazy at times.
I am feeling the stress and hoping that I don't collapse from all of it. I have been freaking out about shipping 3 boxes to BON for Christmas at the Hoppner House, freaking about Soup Kitchen schedules getting mailed out (110 envelopes @.59 cents each), freaking about planning Christmas lunch for our shop peeps, freaking about shopping for Rob's Mom. Um, let me see....those are a few of my favorite things! LOL
I am going to have a double tonight!! BH!!! If you're still out there that's what's on tap for the evening :-) It's 5 0'clock here so...game on.

Cecil, you made me LMAO about your trip in to work today :-) The shoes LOL! That incident was too funny. I'd have said to the dude, "is that all you got"?!?!

I did have fun doing some retail therapy today. Santa bought another rifle this afternoon; a Mini 14.
Rob's officially cut off though! From spending that is LOL! Although the salesman got a nice commission of the two things we bought this week.
I'm the next to buy and I found a really "cute" 327 Magnum that will be in my stocking before it's over. The family compound will be nicely secured after this week. Want something small for my purse and it fits nicely.
I'm looking forward to gong to the shooting range with Rob too. Hopefully I won't have to hold the target LOL!

I have a hair appt. here at 6 and thankfully it's only 1/2 mile from home. I already started drinking!!!! Roots are showing off their gray hue and it's TIME :-)

rain and sleet, freeze over at night, slick in the morning Pegi Sue.
Mail has been heavy with packages which means I have to go up the drive and take it to the door and I haven't even got cookies for it yet. darn it.
I only did the one tree this year, it's 14'. Gdad still in rehab so running everyday to see him has left me little time to decorate. I did get everything bought anf mailed and 24 cheeseballs are made and ready to distribute to the neibors and the butcher and so on.

OK, I need to vent.

WHY, WHY, WHY, do people use their caller ID like an answering machine? If we left you a message, please take the 15-30 seconds out of your precious life and for $%&^ sake listen to what it is we had to tell you! If we did NOT leave a message, it obviously wasn't important enough for us to need you to call us back. Sheesh!

We must get this conversation about 6 times a day: receptionist: "Good afternoon, XYZ Animal Hospital how can I help you"
Caller: "Yeah, someone from there called me" (notice, said caller did not identify themselves - we are, after all, mind readers)
Receptionist: "Can I ask who's calling?"
Caller: "John Smith"
Recep: "Can you hold for a moment while I find your file?"
Caller: "I'm really busy and don't have time to wait, I'll call back." or "Can't I just talk to the doctor?" (we have 3 docs... they don't even know which one called since they haven't listened to their message yet, if there even was one).

GRRRRRR :-( You know... we can fix lots of things, but there we can't fix dumb!

Aw, PegiSue, you know what that feels like, you just gotta think back to a time that they did something really good. Like when Kayla got her own apartment, was working and going to school, trying real hard, now I remember you being pretty proud of her back then! :-) You were missing her, but proud of her. That's the feeling.

Now, today, my daughter said some stuff that made me mad, and I was not so feeling good, totally normal for kids to act that way at times, but we made up and all is good now. lots of ups and downs being a parent.

Your kids are good, PS, that got a wonderful mom who will make sure they turn out A-OK, you are just going through some growing pains with them right now, yup, that's all.

Goodnight, Jerry!

Debbie T. WOW!!!!! OK, I am feeling a bit smaller as I read what all has been on your family plate recently. I am so very sorry for all the losses; life is often so unfair!!!
My troubles/worries are nothing compared to so many others right now and I think I had a selfish day today; that is wrong!!! :-(

I, too, must step back and look at all the good and the blessings I have been given!
This time of year I am typically full of good cheer but am finding it hard to show it. That is SO NOT ME!!!!! Is it because I turned 40 a few months back? Color my gray every 5 weeks? Have to get BIFOCALS?!?!?! LOL

I'm there for my sister. My heart aches for her and what she has been through in just the last week not to mention the last year of things. I'm the 2nd and she is the 4th of 4. We are close but the other 2 don't have a clue what been up with either of us. The other 2 have children so they are busy with them. My and the baby sis do not so we have each other now.
Zena, when I got to 40 I said forget about the gray and just let it go natural. Don't sweat it. Of course I don't have to work in an office or with the public much, thats why I like the mail job.

The Fountain of Youth is really just a sulfur spring. I stopped worring about what other people thought of me a long time ago. I'm 43 now and not afraid to tell anyone that ask. If it makes you happy "just do it". I just had this conversation a few days ago with our Post Master. She fixes herself all the time and is retiring in Janurary and is worried about the money she spends on that stuff. Make-up, hair, yada yada yada. If you like it for yourself. Do It. If Momma ani't happy, nobody is happy. hahaha

Gee, I'm done working out, having a glass of wine and you're all gone:-( waaaa

Kobi, I'm with you, I'm gonna keep paying to remove that gray until I can't...LOL! In fact, i go tomorrow night.

Debbie, wow, what a tough year. Life, death, jobs, loss, it is tough, tough for sure. Big hugs to you:-)

Michael was laid off a few years ago two weeks before Christmas. I had to go back to all the stores and return all the stocking stuffers, presents, everything. I remember one store, they kind of gave me a hard time because I didn't have my receipt. I told them my husband had just been laid off, and that we needed the money for bills, not stocking stuffers. She gladly returned my things and gave me my money back. This year feels much of the same in that since no one is buying boats, no boats need to be surveyed...so...well...no business for WHN...we bought for the kids and grandkids and told everyone else we were "skipping christmas" this year....sucks for sure. There are a lot of folks in this situation.

Kobi, I think that's why I just can't get into it. I have NEVER NOT put up my tree. The only decoration in the house is a poinsettia that Dick and Grace gave us. Michael did put up the lights in hope that it would get me "in the mood"...not really working yet.

OK, ENOUGH SNIVELING AND WHINING...whew...ok...I did watch Shrek the Holidays or whatever that DVD is called...so cute. I LOVE the donkey's kidlets...o...m...g...

and on top of that, THEY MOVED THE BED IN THE PUPPY CAM!!!!

here we go..."happy thoughts"

Cynde... I'm with you, I can't get into the season this year either. No tree (well, with a puppy, that's another good reason, but there was no inkling of a tree before Josie came), no lights, no poinsetta, no nothing. :-( Bah humbug.
