Good Morning Donna, Debbie, Eileen, Judy, Skippy and all to follow.

Looks like Florida will be having great weather this week. This morning it is damp - not raining yet, but there is cloud cover.

Hope you all had a great weekend. I finished lots of holiday stuff and hope to be complete by Wednesday.

I didn't get much of a chance to hit the boards this weekend since my monitor made me dizzy. It's all fuzzy. Looks like the shelf life of the Dell flat screens are one year - at least for mine. But now that I can see clearly, I'll be checkin' ya'll out today.

I'm happy for everyone w/ their slight warm-up in the weather department. It's cloudy here too, and damp. Not so cool, but I will NOT complain!! Or we'll have an ice storm!!!:-(

I have sooooo much to do today. It's kinda overwhelming. I just hope I can get it all done and not just give up. I do have to go get bloodwork done AGAIN, and I have a test at the hosp. this afternoon. Then clean this house! DOGS AND DIRT=HIDEOUS MESS IN MY HOUSE!
But, IT'S ALL GOOD!!!!!:-)

Good morning all. My list is on it's way to Louise, I do hope she can get right on it. I am really behind.

Well I got in the car this morning to go to work. I hear on the radio that there are 200,000 homes and businesses without electricity in Mass, so I call work and all I get is a busy signal. I even tried the fax number (which is where we get orders), still busy. No juice for them. Pull a u'ey and back home. Actually a pretty sucky situation, how exactly do I know when they get power without a 120 mile trip.

Debbie, that reminds me. I went to check out the new Aldi grocery store Saturday. I knew it carried mostly "off brands", but I don't care about that. What I didn'tn know was that they don't take checks and they don't provide bags. HA! Well I didn't bring enough cash and no bags so I just looked around.

If they were trying to sell Dinah some pet insurance it would almost make sense, but car insurance that just plain silly, she's way to young to get a license and even if she was old enough cats are way to cool to be caught driving a car (as opposed to being driven).

My brother in law had some blood work done a few years ago and was charged for a Pregnancy test. He called to inform them that he was happy that the Pregnancy test came back negative, but, he was a male.

Person at the other end said,"But you still had the test right?"

Jerry - so glad to hear you have power, and therefore, HEAT!!! How's the tree cleanup going in your area?

We had mid 30's all weekend and then in the wee hours of moning got a nice cold front with 30 mile an hour winds and the temp dropped to 2 with -20F windchills. Nice :-(

I'm going to crawl back under my desk now - but I'm taking the puppy with me:-)

Debbie, i thought you said "time to go flood the store." i was like WTF?

eileen, hope you get recharged...I'd be exhausted 24/7 365 if I had your job!

It's raining here! yeah! We need it badly. Funny though, on the news "teasers" last night it was "WINTER STORM WATCH AT ELEVEN....HUMONGOUS STORM HEADING TOWARD SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA....BE PREPARED"

geez, they treat rain like it's a friggin' blizzard...if only folks knew what REAL weather was like, right Cecil and Skippy?

Hmmm....maybe I should call work and hope that the powers out...dialing now....ring ring ring "you've reached the VM of cynde....blah blah blah" DANG....

ps, good luck with the tests...what's going on now? PM me, I'm worried.

Donna, glad you had a good time last night, you needed a boost in the arm, watching our kids excel does it every time:-)

i hope i didn't miss anyone (hi linda and bh)

it's low 40's here in ohio...and rain. not much out there is worse than 40 and rain. i'd rather have 20 and snow. just talked to our son in denver yesterday...it was 0 there and i heard it went to -15 last night. he was lucky....when i talked to him last week his furnace had broken and he was getting it replace...fortunately, that day the temps were in the 60's so it wasn't bad at all without the furnace for a day. he's very lucky it didn't break saturday.

51 1/2 days till we leave.

I agree Pat - mid 30's-40 with rain is terrible. That's what we had this weekend, then the arctic blast hit us and BAM - instant skating rink. Luckily the roads were clear... my driveway was not so fortunate. :-(

Hugs to all who need them.

Morning Everyone!
So glad to hear that some are getting over the hump and others are trying to take it easy (Eileen!).
We had such a great time last night at dinner and then the Christmas concert.
It's been raining steady since --- a few mudslides but so far not the major evacuations like last time.
AND, for the first time since we bought our house 14/15 years ago we DON'T have rainwater running through our garage. Guy's new cabana did the trick and kept things buttoned down and dry :-):-)

We're both home today --- we HAVE to do some online shopping. We've totally decorated and the house feels like Christmas but we haven't spent one plug nickel on gifts :-):-) I kind of like that!

Pat - lucky you!!!!

Buttercup used to walk me out every morning, and Geezela has taken on the task now. she HATES getting wet, this morning she really wanted out with me, we thought, she'll hit the water and turn around. NO...michael went out to get my umbrella from my car. she would NOT move from the gate despite me calling her. she waited for me to come out and get in the car...we were laughing because she hates getting wet, but still wanted to walk mommy out to the car...
geeze all wet

Glad everyone is doing well, Skippy, happy to hear your power is back on!

Yucky here, rainy and cold!

Cynde, can I borrow your "special helmet", you know the one?
Yesterday I took the kids ice skating (indoors, this is California!) and I was taken out by a 6 year old out of control. Yep, out cold, came too surrounded by medical personnel. I had to wake up every 2 hours all night and am feeling a little achy to say the least. Rajan is destined for Hollywood, he does and awesome re-enactment.I was so worried about the kids getting hurt and then I go and do a whopper. Oh well, one more notch in the "Freak magnet/freak incident" belt I so proudly wear!

We have plenty of Christmas Cookies here at work. From now till the New Year all the different departments will be having in office parties and food all over the place. It will be a challenge for me not to OD on sugar - I say with a peanut butter cookie in my mouth. :-)

LMAO!! I like the sumo style protective gear! The doctor was real cute but looked like he was 12! I told him I was so embarrassed, he said oh don't be, you came back quick! Yesterday we had a guy do the same thing and he went into shock and had to be transported by ambulance! He said "your fine, rest for 10 minutes and you can go back out and skate! Why is it that a woman can put on a pair of guys boxers and walk around likes it's the norm, but when I put on Louise's panty's, she calls the police?

Hi guys. :-)

PS, whatever is going on, I wanna know! Wishing only good news for you, hon.

I'm in that time and place where there are things I can't control and some things are still unknown. Which I don't like. I had the oral surgery and haven't gotten to do the follow up and I suspect a crown? yet. So my teeth look funny as one is all filed on the sides so I don't/won't smile. Then my other doc did the biopsy today and it wasn't fun. At least the pill they gave me made me not care! (and sleepy) So, still don't know what kind of hyst (no need to spell things out here, y'know?) :-) But I know it's 1st of the year. I'm hoping hoping for the one where you're only down 6 days.

Still grieving my brother and worrying over my brother's decision about his son, (though I know in my heart it was the BEST decision), and I'm having to be talked to sleep - ever heard of progressive relaxation techniques? Works.

OK, well if that's too deep pull my finger. lol We had another party at work and I'm afraid I tasted everything. A mishmash of cultures, and some funny food. :-)

G'night all. Sun just set and dinner's ready, just waiting on Larry.

Kathy, wishing you all the best. I know it is a hard time and you have lots of questions but, on F.B., you said the people your brother chose were "salt of the earth". I am sure your nephew will be well taken care of. Remember, those folks want you in his life, and that is a good thing. Hugs to you.

Tom, she is a teacher at his school, and her husband (who he calls Pop already....well, they've been keeping Mitch while Ron was in the hospital since I moved to FL - that's 4 years so they've really bonded), her husband works for Big Oak Boys Ranch. They assured me they'd make sure Mitch got a college education, and would continue his education at the Ranch's Christian school. He'll go on vacations, learn to ride and handle horses, and will have counseling. He needs that, I think. He certainly loves them. They ARE salt of the earth, and they cried and cried as we talked, it was a major cryfest for us all, as Ron left all of us in the dark, denying he might pass. He was all of 60 lbs when he went in the hospital, and it took a fight with me (deep, long sigh of grief), to make him go. And of course, once he was there they saw there was no way to keep him alive, and killed him kindly by morphine - shut down his organs. I did get to say goodbye, so did my aunts, uncles and my a-hole of a dad (who made me pay for the cremation and service while he cried poor and drove up in a 2008 Cadillac Escalade and then tried to rob Ron's house of anything valuable to give to his stepsons - younger than my own daughters, who he gave us up for). Ssshhhh. OK enough.

I have my brother's ashes and they aren't even in an urn, they are in a plastic bag in a plastic box, and they weigh about 15 lbs and drive me into deep grief. Plus TSA opened them even though I had papers. I have to do something honorable with them. Keep some in a nice urn, and take him places in the wind.

OK, QUITE enough. Sorry.

Love you guys. Don't even bring it up again, as I don't want to be a Downer Debbie (re: Saturday Night Live).

Want to know why I became a mod?
So I could help keep this family alive. Use it as a vent, seek help to problems, get advice, what ever. Yes we can and do act like an ass but you know what, THATS OK. This is a powerfull family here, and it belongs to you all. Never, never feel that you are a DD. It does not happen here.

Is this a special place? YOU BET YOUR ASS IT IS.

Slap slap slap.

HeeeeHawwwwwwwwwwwwww

Kathy I totally second what everyone else has said, especially PegiSue. Keeping things in only makes you ill... my friend who just lost her mom is having such a hard time and it's so hard to know what to do to help. I know only one thing for sure... talking, listening, hugging, crying, and just being together.
That's what we're here for :-)

We got our family gifts all done and I got a couple of small things for Guy. I love online shopping :-)

I made a wonderful Chicken Chili for dinner -- too bad I was so bad with a Kobe burger for lunch --- it was a perfectly balanced meal.

Well, goodnight everyone.

Sweet Dreams
