Okay, looks like it is the guards playing this morning. I wonder if you would all like a rest this afternoon. I will treat you all to a lovely afternoon tea at our local farm shop. Excellent coffee in big mugs, homemade cakes including date and walnut, coffee, double chocolate and carrot. There will be home cured bacon sandwiches and sausages made from the friends of pigs you can watch out of the window. So many kinds of tea and drinking chocolate with the works. Santa will be there too so if any of you have been too busy to send your list you can put in your requests. They have big tables to push together or pink sofas and chairs to lounge on. It's called 'The Pink Pig' and you are all welcome. Chat and gossip as much as you like. Remember that it is my treat so there will be no calorific value because someone else is buying :-) :-) :-)

Aw geez, Skippy - a week? Seriously? That bites the big one. I suppose generators are in short supply if you can even get out to get one? Anything we can do to help?

I'm just in for a quick howdy this morning... got laundry to do then go to get supplies for a foster puppy that apparently has a bit of a "digestive problem" right now... not surprizing with being surrendered to a shelter and now being transported to a new home all in a weeks time. Poor baby. I'll fix her up right! :-)

Good morning to all, and I'll stop by later hopefully with some puppy pictures :-)

Jerry, can you drain them? At least the lower ones and keep a trickle going in the others. Yes I know it is a waste but, if you catch and use some of the water to say flush the toilet.

Get a portable propane heater dude!!! Put it in your cellar to protect the pipes.

I so hope the temperatures predicted for Amesbury are a few degrees colder than what you actually get.

WHERE ARE THE DONUTS?!?!

One of the guys that works in the compressor business just got back. He was stuck in Nashua, NH because of the ice storm. He said that a stretch of the interstate here in Vahmont was still touch and go because of packed snow on it but, the road crews were working on that area as he came through. At least the Holiday Inn where he stayed was lucky and only lost power for an hour and a half.

Morning all! Geez you are all raising he)) this morning!

Jerry, I say do what Debbie said, order the stuff online and have it rush ordered to the house. The other option is to drain all the pipes, turn the water off, pack everyone up and head out west, we'd LOVE to have you guys here! Niki can have the workout room, I don't think Mr. Turtle would mind!

OK, I just voted for PS on Denise's site 30 times..do you think they all took?

We are having a party on Tuffy tonight to watch the parade, a BIG storm is brewing outside...may have to cancel or try to get a spot at the local pub with a view...Tuffy was in the local paper too talking about the boat parade...that pic was 3 years ago...lol! Soooo...we decided we will have to enter again next year. We didn't win the year we entered, but they sure LOVE the pic of her...lol!

HI all - I HAVE A PUPPYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!! I will start a new thread with pics. She's adorable! And so far Mr. Jingles is being nice to her... a few low growls to say this is my space and get out of my face - but that's it. He's being a trooper.

Elaine - there was a UW camera thread not too long ago I hope this works: http://www.oldbonairetalk.com/newsgroup/messages/23830/383305.html?1228838071

Gotta run and check the roast - got friends coming for dinner and it's starting to smell divine! Combination beef and pork roast, carrots/celery/potatos (yukon gold), cheese plate, peach pie (home made).

Cheers - and here's to better weather and fast electric fixing in the NE!

Sorry I missed you Jerry --- I hope you and Louise and Caymus and Nicki can get a good nights' sleep.

Hello Everyone ---OMG! I just realized it's after 3pm!!!! Holy Moly where did this day go? I went to the gym, delivered 100 papers (only another 100 to go) and braved the post office (since I didn't make it yesterday). I made breakfast egg mcmuffins for Guy & me -- yummo!

We were supposed to go to a matinee but it's too darn cold outside and too darn cozy in the living room :-) I've got spiced water on the fire and mushy Hallmark Holiday movies going on tv. Guy is just about finished up with the gutters on the new cabana --- this storm front heading in has brought a strong winds and brrrrrrrr.... it's supposed to start raining tonight and not stop till who-knows-when. We can use the rain but not in buckets.

Time for Online Christmas Shopping!!!

HoHoHo!!

First to check for Beckeeee's new baby pictures :-):-)

Beckee's new pup is beautiful!! Check her out.

Tribs, your fart video was the first thing I checked out this evening. I was laughing so hard, Terry actually got up from his recliner to see what was going on. Then he starts chuckling and shaking his head.

I wish I could say I found that video, but a student of mine (who is now in grad school) posted it to his facebook page. I just had to share it.

We just got back from a nice little treat. I won a local contest a few weeks back and got a gift certificate to a local coffee/chocolate house. We used part of it today and had chocolate fondue. Wow! We dipped: angel food cake, brownies, pineapple, strawberries and cheese cake. Next time, I'm getting pineapple, apple and potato chips! Becky....get down here so I have an excuse to go back!

I think some people, and I am one of them, suffer from a chocolate/salt dependency. The chocolate covered potato chips fill that need perfectly. :-)

All this talk of food/desert made me hungry for something sweet, so I pulled the frozen left over carrot cake with cream cheese frosting out of the freezer. It will be gone soon. :-)

Terry and I are looking at going to the Georgia Aquarium over the new year weekend. Any suggestions for a nice cheap place to stay in the area?
I'll ask again in the morning since I usually kill the thread.

Linda from the Keys to the Georgia Aquarium... you and Terry sound like Guy and me when it comes to making plans :-)
We know we're going somewhere the 26th-30th but where we end up... only time will tell.

We have wanted to go to this aquarium since it opened. Terry asked which we should do the other night and I am torn between the two. But if we go to Atlanta we will go dive with the whale shark, and the only equipment we need is our C cards(and my mask for old eyes). :-)

Nighty night.

Linda, Ron and I dove the aquarium on Nov.1st and it was fabulous! We drove down from Ohio and stayed at the Embassy Suites Centennial Park. I think it was worth the cost after you add in breakfast, parking and the cocktail hour they provide. You have to pay for parking at the aquarium too. We also toured the World of Coca-cola next door.

As far as the dive experience; we toured the aquarium all day and then gathered for the dive around 3 o'clock. They took great care with all of our families too. My mom was with us and they took them around to the tunnel and viewing window so they could get pictures. Then they brought them "backstage" to view the video with us.

We enjoyed the dive; using different gear was a little strange, but everything was laid out and ready for us. The whale sharks stay in the upper 1/3 of the pool so they wanted us deeper. We were inches from everything else; hammerheads and now they've added 6 sand tigers! It was so hard not touching such exquisite animals. We were able to see creatures from all over the world in one location--priceless. The 30 minutes went by much too fast and we were "herded" around, but would do it again in a heartbeat! Of course, we bought the video. Now we're thinking "how about retiring in Atlanta"? Hope you get the chance to dive it--it was an unforgettable experience.

Judy, Thank you for the feed back. It looks like we will be doing this adventure. Like you said - seeing creatures from all over the world in one place is worth it. I think we've seen the last of 48 hour travel time to some of these exotic places.
I'll check out the Embassy Suites and if Terry thinks it's too expensive, that's his gift from me. I don't want to be driving all over the place.
Atlanta is a nice place. Our first trip there was for the Olympic, then a few baseball trips.
