Bah humbug!!! Schools are closed here, went outside don't know how much is on the ground so far but.... I am waiting for daylight to deal with it.

Kids are bummed because of the S**w Day - really, tonight the schools were supposed to go to a Ski Resort.

Oooooops, I was bad.

Goooooooooooooooooooooood Morning all.

Eileen, Katie (aka Medusa) has been walking around complaining about the schools closing for over 20 minutes. Ben on the other hand said "Darn it." and went back to sleep:-) If it had been a "test" day, they would both be doing the happy dance.

The plow truck just went by for the second time since 4 a.m..

HEY, WHY DON'T I GET A SNOW DAY FROM DEALING WITH THE SNOW?!?!:-( Oh wait, my truck will go through it - no problem.

"Hey W.Y.N., better get busy clearing the driveway. What? Hey, I thought of you, the snowblower is gassed and ready. Enjoy!!! Oh, would you bring me another mug of coffee before you clean the drive? What's that? What should I do with my mug? That's not physically possible! No, I don't care for you to show me it can be done.! Geeeeesh, a bit grumpy this morning aren't you?
.
.
.
.
.
How about a half a mug?"

Patrick, good!!!

I hope everyone is okay where this storm is visiting. Saw that Jerry mentioned ice (eeeek) down his way. The storm is moving fast, fortunately they dropped the expected s**w total to 8-12. Just heard the weatherman say that ice and freezing rain are to be expected. The dude had a smile on his face, I hope he gets coal in his stocking. It is supposed to be down to 0-10 (f) this evening - JOY!!!

I need more coffee. "Honnnnnnnnnnnnnnnney, will you please come down stairs and get me some more coffee? Don't forget the cream in it - okay?" Geeesh, I guess I have to get my own. Now I know why she removed some things like "obey" from our vows. ROTFLMAO

Good Morning to you all.

Patrick, glad they got the guy. Great news.

All you BT'rs who got snow/ice, stay safe and take the day off! :-) Break out the hot cocoa with whipped cream.

We got rain and lots of it, big flooding in our area, so glad it wasn't snow or ice. Ice storms are not fun.

Jerry, hope you defrost today, we lost three of our white birch trees to an ice storm one year in an ice storm. Sorry to hear you lost some trees. Stay safe and inside today.

Seems old man winter is off to an early start this year.

Can you believe we still have leaves in front of our street? Seems the township is running a little behind this year and they haven't gotten to getting them yet. Our street is piled high 4-5 foot in some stretches with them.

Thanks Eileen. I do a good job fielding all the stuff that gets thrown my way. I just hate the questions I get asked like: "And what was your thought process during...." That kind of question has me asking questions like what do you mean thought process? My brain just works on it's own. How does your brain/thought process work?

Tom - sorry to hear you are in the middle of what we went through just Monday and Tuesday. Grrrr grrr

OMG - I just found out I'm fostering a PUPPY!!!!! She's a 4 month old tri-colored rough collie puppy who was dumped at the shelter due to health problems. She has a neurological syndrome called wobbler's, its where the neck vertebrae don't form correctly and pinch on the spinal cord causing incoordination. It may be surgically repairable (not by me!!!) and it may be able to be slowed by diet. Not sure on the details, and I'll post pictures as soon as she gets here tomorrow.

I have to go puppy proof my house!!! Good thing I have off today :-)

Tribs - she may be coming with me in January! :-) Can your household handle a puppy???

I have gotten some really cool cards from all over the country. Thanks for spreading my site and for all the good wishes and prayers. Yesterday I also got 2 boxes with stuff to decorate my room for Christmas! I am going to wait and let Jacob help me when he comes this weekend. Hi folks, I have been dealing with some really bad cases at work. My team is dealing with a young man who is a refugee from Afghanistan. Dad was killed in the fighting, the house was burned down with him in it and he lost contact with his mum and sisters on his journey out of the country and has no idea if they are alive. Where do we start??? I am also sorting out a Polish child who has had a major operation as she has restricted growth and a lot of other problems connected with her condition. One of my older girl students is eating plastic as she is a self harmer and another student ran away from home to meet someone that he met on the internet!!!!. I hope to resume proper mods duty when I break for Christmas but don't think I don't read everything you write!!!!! It is the only thing keeping me sane at the moment. Poor Bob is being an absolute saint.
However I have found time to book our next Flight to Bonaire. Not until late next year but when I am dealing with yet another social worker or police officer I will have my year planner on the wall with Bonaire written in big BT purple letters!

Debbie, Snow S***s!!! Consider that my check in.

Did two drives then came to work only to find our contracted snow removal people hadn't shown up. Called and was told something like "We are getting there as fast as possible." Reminded them that this was a retail business, can't open the doors with a foot of snow in parking lot. Ran home loaded s**wblower and quickly did one lane in drive and half of parking lot between... oh, what are those people called again? Er, um customers, yeah that's it.

Soaked, cold, in other words not feeling fresh. Beau wants to move to Beaufort, thinks it's named after his uncle/cousin. I think that might be too far north for me.

Gotta run, have a few regs I need to Armor-All:-) No time to play today:-( Have fun, play nice.

Came in just to place a order.
Amesbury got nailed. My street looks like a bomb went off, trees down on cars, houses, wires down all over town. It's a total mess. We will be without power till Mon, or Tues. Will be cold for sure.

The sound all night of trees cracking, and falling was so bad that Louise or could sleep, so I'm running on coffee at this point.

Im typing with tears in my eyes, I just got back from delivering the toys to Sacred Heart. All I can say is WOW. The people donating were wonderful, all the volunteers were working very hard. I'm humbled by all the good thats going on there!
An elderly man was delivering 50 loaves of bread and 50 cakes that his wife had baked and hand decorated the cakes!!! I'm speechless at the generosity and love that people do these things with.
Julia, you are truly an angel :-)
Just when you think the world has gone berserk and in the toilet I see these acts of kindness and honestly it makes me feel renewed. I'll be smiling the rest of the day (maybe a few tears of joy, but I can handle that!)
Have a wonderful day everyone

Hi all.

Jerry, glad that you are okay, sad that I missed ya.

I hope my BT neighbors to the east and Ann's Mom stay safe through this hard time.

It stopped snowing here and is now a balmy 25 (f). Think I'll take a break until closing time.

Today was actually a good day here, go figure. The Lion's Club have been selling trees also. I hope the people realize that the icicles on those trees are going to melt when the take them inside:-)

P.S., get your butt up here if you want s**w If you are nice I'll show you how to make snow angels. If I am nice, I will help you back up:-)

good evening every one.. lets hope that this evening is better for our friends up north and that Jerry gets his electric before Monday.. egaddddddd....... Hope all is well with you and your world.. I did a bit of shopping today and yes I did go in the attic to get "stuff" out and get ready to decorate.. I have the 2 of the grands this weekend as Mom and Dad are going to DC to the annual Holiday party.. we will have fun.. George and Kenny are entered in the Polar Bear plunge tomorrow.. If Judy goes maybe she will take photos too cold for the little boys to stand around on the coldddd burrrrrrrrr sand in the cold burrrr wind.. LOL so we will wait by the hot tub for the men/boys {cold water lol} to get home so they can have their hot tub and cigar ... then we might have to find a Santa to take the boys too.. oh there is a bon fire tomorrow evening for the aquarium so maybe we will go there, sounds like fun.. OK time to finish up here this evening and call it a day. have a good night all.. Luv ya

Greetings from an island of power & light in the middle of a sea of darkness & cold! Lots of ice here last night, fell asleep to the wonderful sound of pine trees & oak trees shattering in the back yard. No damage to anything but the trees, luckily, and miraculously we're the only road in town that appears to have power! Definitely not complaining -- they closed the main street here in Bolton all day as they replaced a number of power poles that had snapped under the weight of the ice and falling branches. Not fun. We're hoping Dan's office (in the dark part of town) isn't frozen solid...

Hoping the rest of the folks in this neck of the woods are doing OK. Tom, I'll trade you -- I think I'd rather have sn*w than ice...

Faith

Faith thank you for checking in. That must be a strange feeling being the only street with electric. I'm always so amazed at just how quickly the crews get things restored though --- they are Heroes too!

I never did make it to the post office. Every time I grabbed my keys someone came in. Imagine! It's only taken me 15 years to figure out the secret to successful retail :-)

Any rate, it's time to start closing it down for the weekend.

This was definitely a messed-up day in New England, weather-wise. RI and the south coast of MA had 60 degree temps and 50 mph winds, NH and central/western MA had ice, all had (and continue to have) flooding. Around here, the roads were perfectly clear, ice-wise, but the trees & wires down kept blocking up all the roads. News reports of anywhere from 200,000 to 1 million households without power, either because of ice damage or wind damage.

Ann, hope your mom is OK!

Oh Faith - I so wish everyone could stay snuggled up in a Norman Rockwell Christmas scene - safe sound and happy ~ oh and well fed :-)

I'm being really anti-social tonight. I stopped at the store and bought 4 nice bottles of wine (they had a lot at 50% so my $11 bottle normally was the $22 bottle that I just can't afford!). I was going to take one and a box of cupcakes to take to the neighbor's tree trimming party but....
I got home and fed the furkids and just don't feel like going out :-) My Little Guy is snuggling up next to me, I've got laundry going and a movie... Christmas cards to write.
I think I made the right decision.

Good night Friends :-)
