Good Thanksgiving Eve morning to all....
I'm up early to go into work voluntarily for a while to clean up some stuff I need quiet to concentrate on....then the holiday officially begins!! :-)

My girls are both here and I'm looking forward to my whole family being together.

Pies...I'm baking pumpkin....picking up a fresh-baked caramel apple from a local business that is selling them...and have an already 1/2 eaten pumpkin from a friend in the fridge!!

Good morning everyone.

Yes, Jerry, I remember those little pies when I was living in Mass. Dad always brought me a blueberry Table Talk when we went on our picnics in the Blue Hills or out to Glouster. Thanks for the memory.

I forgot about pies. Since it's just Ter and I and he is sick again..... When he's sick he doesn't eat. I'll just have to whip something up. :-):-)

Everyone stay warm.

Hi Kitty Ashley:-) Hi everyone!!!!(yes you too PATRICK)

Unless my buddy/bro Matt brings his (much enjoyed) apple pie, all that are served will have have come from our little bakery down the road. I am going there to pick up some pies and as Jessie's (our Thursday Daughter) birthday is Friday a cake I ordered as well. Let's see, eat too much during the day then, repeat at night topping it off with birthday cake - think I better get some of those Frank Barone "stretchy pants" to wear:-)

Linda, sorry Terry is sick, hope he feels better - STAT!!! (sorry Tink)

Getting ready for a sale to end all sales here. I love sales absofr*****lutely love em- NOT!!! Jerry, I am looking for a new job so, if you put me through a remedial valve cap dusting course I will work for your Duck Confit and spam pate:-)

Linda, I used to want on of those little cutie pies but Mom would never buy them.

I made our traditional Armenian dessert Kadayif in between my severe vertigo and nausea. Not sure I feel up to driving up to Mom's. Thank goodness Mags can drive now. I have been sick as a dog.

Morning Everyone!
HUGS HUGS and more HUGS to everyone feeling under the weather (where did that saying come from). And a few extra just for giggles :-):-)

We've had major rain here (good old Cali saves it all for one big down pour) ~ bad timing for the fire victims. They all had to be evacuated again last night due to concerns about flooding. I don't know when they will be allowed back home but probably late this afternoon if the rain stops. Can you imagine?
Makes me really not feel sorry for my two kitty boyz who are whining about wanting to go outside!
Tom, I LOVE Everybody Loves Raymond. What a great show.

I can't imagine it will be very busy at my shop today --- especially if the street is flooded :-) :-) Ooops! maybe I'll just have to go down and grab some paperwork, fill a few orders and then POOF!!!! We'll see :-)

Time to hit the shower and get moving in that direction......

GOOD AFTERNOON everybody!!

O M Gawd.....Milli Vanilli :-)
Ahhhh 1988.....I was married, a junior in college, broke and LOVING life! Actually the best times and memories during that era!
Thanks, Jerry! Made me smile :-)

I am sorry so many folks are sick. It has hit our other shop (Rob's bro's business) but thankfully not hit here!

I am totally bummed!!! My sister, hubby and Rylan are not coming up for Thanksgiving BOO HOO!!!!
Rylan's not feeling 100% and my sister thinks they are also getting a bugaboo :-(
Not sure what Rob and I will get into BUT we're taking the bikes up to the mountains tomorrow as it's going to be FIFTY degrees!!!

We'll probably go out to dinner and not cook. That, after all the stuff I bought at the store LOL! It will all keep and the turkey is still as hard as a wedding......well it's still frozen :-)

PS, glad Rafe said he's sorry. I know he loves you and you love him and that is all that matters!

Healing hugs to everyone ailing.

:-( for everyone who is sick. My neighbor and I were going to take her girls and my grandgirls to a light show and Christmas carol fest at the University tonight, but my DIL says the 3 year old is very congested, so I won't take her out in the damp night air. We'll snuggle in the warm house and find something else to do.

Since all I'm responsible for tomorrow is the turkey, stuffing, and gravy, I sure hope one of those younger gals is making a pumpkin pie! My son is making an apple pie, but Thanksgiving isn't Thanksgiving without a pumpkin pie and whipped cream! I hope someone else pulls through!

And Kobi :-( That is a bummer. I know you and Rob will have a fine time anyway but after all your prep and anticipation. I'm sorry you won't be running after Rylan and Bubbles.

I'm being really really bad and haven't even left the house yet. I have to run down to the grocery. Eventually I'll have to go to the shop but first things first :-)

Guy got held over till the threat of mudslides is over, so what the heck I've got Holiday Prep or something to do!!!

I'm making pumpkin chiffon pie and an ammaretto-almond cake. The cake is baking now and it smells yummy!

I was out at 8 am hanging signs and handing out flyers for our school toy drive. We are collecting for 2 different places this year, one is called "Sunday Friends" and the other is "Sacred Heart Community Services". Both are in desperate need of food and toys and clothing. It's been a tough year for most everyone. If you are able to, please consider making a small donation to one of your local charities.

Eileen, I had a few flashbacks in coll...... oh, you meant the song gave you a flashback - nevermind. Did you ever have a Vueja-De? You know, one of those times where you say to yourself "Self, I'm almost positive I have never been here or done this before."? Fun, weren't they?

R.A., you are right, this year is really tough. I definitely don't need or want more "stuff". Saw a guy picking up bottles to redeem yesterday, my bride who was never "down and out" got this "ah, that's too sad" look on her face, until I told her I saw that very guy redeeming bottles at the corner store and buying...... MILK with the change. I have been asking my folks to make donations to - C.O.T.S.. http://www.cotsonline.org , to Toys for Tots or the food shelf.

However, if any of them wants to pay the difference between what I will get for a trade in and the price of a 2009 Road King Classic (Turqois/White), I'll believe in S.C. but, that is a different story.....

Come on ladies, how many of you really liked this song?

"So needless to say I'm odds and ends
But that's me, stumbling away
Slowly learning that life is O.K.
Say after me

I can't see the videos till I get home, but I'm getting an idea. lol

My top lip is sticking out like Goldie Hawn in the 1st Wives Club right now. I guess all that lip stretching and stitches from the oral surgery yesterday took their toll! lol It's funny having to explain to people what happend, 'cause they think I've been crying or got some terrible lip plumping job. I've been getting, "What's the matter, Kathy???" all day long....but in 50 min I'm off for the long holiday weekend and can be duck faced in my own home. :-)

And I've already cooked 2 pies!

:-)

Recently I received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. I tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else I could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary. Finally, I was fed up and I yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. I shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder. So, in desperation, I threw up my hands, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute. Fearing that I'd hurt the parrot, I quickly opened the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto my out stretched arms and said "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior."
I was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude.
As I was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued, "May I ask what the turkey did?"

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I'm getting stuff ready to cram up the parrot's...I mean turkey's...um...cavity tomorrow. Kayla just called and isn't getting off til late tonite, so I have to make the pies now. My niece is here w/ me. My sister is at my mom's now. Rafe is here, I am not even going into HOW HE GOT HERE!! I'm gonna stick HIM in the freezer!!!

Kobi, that's a good thing, to have your neighbors over.:-)

Roy:-):-):-)

Eileen, I PROMISE he won't be like Rafe!! It just can't happen. Plus Rafe was good when he was little (he was only little for a month...), so that means that Quinn's getting it out of his system NOW. When he's older he'll be just wonderful!!! See, IT'S ALL GOOD!:-)
I'll pray to Tom's pygmies that he doesn't act like Rafe!!

I just finished toasting the almonds for my cake, it doesn't look as pretty as I thought it would so I sure hope it tastes good!
Donna, I'll take that pie off your hands if you are not going to eat it :-), a little smushyness makes the pie taste better!

I had a wonderful chat this afternoon with one of our BT family members and he made me laugh till my sides hurt, thanks, it was just what I needed! :-)

Just in case I don't get a chance tomorrow to say it...Happy Thanksgiving and thanks to all of you my world is brighter and happier than ever!

A monkey missing on Thanksgiving Eve? This cannot be good!!!

Donna, upside down pie is good :-) LOL!

PS, I love the smell of pies baking and the anticipation of a family gathering.

I just hung up with my sister. She has the sniffles so it's best we NOT get together this turkey day! As we chatted Miss Rylan was pulling all the tissues out of the box and putting them up to her nose LOL! She sees my sister doing that so it must be OK!!! LMAO
What a pill!! Recycled tissues in that house for sure!

We're planning for them to come up here in the next few weeks before really bad weather sets in.

Boring night at our house; we're watching Rocky XXXVVVIII :-) Actually I it's IV with
Dolf Lundgren. My GOSH watching this and seeing the year it was made makes me realize I am an ANTIQUE!!!

RA, here is a trick a very good chef in paris passed on to me. When cooking for others, pretend you are painting, it must look good, make you feel good, smell good, the rest will fall into place.

He was on crack at the time.

Want to know a trick with yams?
Sure you do. Try this next time. Bake in a 450 oven for 30 mins. Cut in half, dust the open halfs with brown sugar and butter spray, get out your plumbers torch, flame it till it starts to turn brown. Spray again with the butter spray.

Your guest will think you are a kitchen God.

Late peek in here. I'm in for going to Freddie's too! :-) Happy Turkey Day, Everyone, tired tonight, going to bed early, got work in the am, but seeing my granddaughter and son/wife later in the afternoon! I bet Lydia has grown a lot, haven't seen her since Halloween! Need to take some pics and get hubby to post of her for me this week-end.

You all are too much. Grandgirls in bed and asleep. The onions and celery chopped for the stuffing. "Tomasina" is sitting in the sink doing the final defrost - 5 days later! (Something wrong with my fridge?)

Must have Tomasina stuffed and in the oven by nine, nine thirty...... Should not be a problem with a 3 yr old in resident to remind Grandma to "Wake up! The sun is up!"

We did our Hallmark shopping today. Being a Hallmark Gold Crown member I think I saved as much as I spent! I got free a $20 treat jar, free a $15 sent of gingerbread ornaments, and used a $8, $5, and $2 off coupon. Oh and a free ornament for purchasing 2. (I bought 5). It almost cost me like $2...... I save my coupons all fall that they send me, and use them all with my major purchase. I have all of my Hallmark ornament from 25+ years ago - all in their original packaging. (When I'm dead and gone my kids will say - WTF - and toss all the boxes!) But that's my quirk for now!

Tomorrow will be a blast!

The cinnamon water worked.... the first thing Guy said when he came in was how nice the house smelled. It's actually cinnamon and clove :-)
The Buffalo Dip is made and ready for tomorrow.
That's all I have to do. :-) :-(
I think I might make a pie just because.

I've got a nice bottle of wine to take to the after-dinner stop at friends.

I hope to see some of ya' tomorrow :-) I'll be at the gym in the morning and here for just an hour or so before heading out.
Till then....

Sleep well my BT friends,
xo
T

I'm sorry I didn't get back on here last nite, I lost the computer to 4 teenagers...I don't know what they were doing, but it was loud and involved a lot of laughter. So, I let them live:-)

R.A., I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for e-mailing me that wonderful photo of your b***ocks. After a little editing I made an iron on and put it on a pillow case. OMG did I sleep well last night.

Okay, so far I have Tink and her wonderful B.C.D. on a catamaran, Kelly in a l-l-l-low cut top, well at least Mare said it was Kelly, ya cant see above the neck and now R.A.'s buuuuuutay!!! Going to the printers next week with "The Girls of BT" pillowcase line, any of the rest of you want to be famous? NO NOT YOU JERRY, OR PATRICK - no no no!!! W.H.N. said last night the bed was getting too crowded with all the pillows I now sleep with. Being a sensitive guy, I agreed with her and suggested that she move to the couch. She still isn't talking to me. HA - I WON!!!!
