Morning Roy, I hope your man flu is better.

The timer on Brickfish is a bit odd, it has let me vote 5 times already in the last 90 minutes (two laptops).

Frosty start here with blue skies.

I voted! Good Morning Roy and Brian (hope you are getting better Roy).

Thank-you for all the wonderful comments!! :-)

Yesterday - Quinn got sent to the office... no cooperating... I was so embarrassed as I was helping. It was warrented and I did have a great chat with the teacher. We did laugh about it, but we also know what needs to be done. I really enjoy talking with the teacher and working with her, and she is good with the kids. There are 3 parents helping, I mainly help with crafts and decorating the room. The room will be decorated with snowflakes. :-) Kids LOL!!!

Hope everyone is having a great morning!!! We have snow! And a month before Chrismas...

Hey, I got a question that some may be able to assist with here. I want to learn Spanish. Pity that I took French in school, so no Spanish background at all, but I really could benefit by learning how to speak Spanish. Has anyone learned a different language and if so, any suggestions on what program/teaching aide to use to learn. Been researching, seems most will take 8 weeks or more to learn, but that's o.k., I got the time to do so.
I don't want to just learn phrases, but want to learn to speak it conversationally and actually understand it when spoken to me.

Any suggestions will be appreciated. :-)

Hi Debbie! Your French will help. I like Berlitz, but you might want to take a course at a community college. Most of them offer either a conversational Spanish class or Spanish for the workplace.

Debbie,
Rosetta Stone works to learn a language but it is costly! Immersion programs seem to work best and sometimes it takes only a few weeks. Having French as a background certainly will help!

Popping in to see how you're all doing today. Taking a break from cleaning for a while. Played yesterday - have to do a little work today.

I'm going out later on to get everything else I need for my stuffing. I'm going to pick up the girls tomorrow and do my Hallmark shopping. I get all of the kids an ornament every year, and this year I'll let the girls pick out their own. I have all of my Gold Crown rewards coupons lined up! Then I'll keep the girls over night, and let them help prep and stuff the Turkey. And watch the parade! We'll head over their house around one, and carve the turkey and make the gravy there. Dinner will be around 2! I love making the holidays special! :-)

Washer just shut off - time to get back at it so I can play again tomorrow!

Work today was crazy, confusing, etc....but also kind of fun...I was training people to do different jobs, certainly broke up the monotony. I may go in tomorrow morning for a little to make some phone calls I can never get to...but it feels good that I don't HAVE to go in till Monday!! :-) :-)

Hope everyone had a good day. It's "bear season" here and when I drove around the corner on my way home, someone was coming out of the woods with a dead baby bear on the ground...I wanted to SCREAM and CRY!!! :-(

Debbie, I have several spanish speaking coworkers, and they teach me words and phrases every day. So if you are going to do Rosetta Stone or some other program (we have it but got lazy), it's best to bounce your words and phrases and accent off a spanish speaking person. I envy my oldest daughter for her fluency in spanish. I too, took french, but one year was NOt enough!

Ok, my news for the day is I went to the peridontist for him to check out a gum receeding over one tooth and ended up having oral surgery and now have stitches across my front gum and behind those top teeth. wah That's going to go well with Turkey Dinner!

I'm falling apart! lol They had to put a bone graft in an important front tooth to save it. Who knew? The tooth was not hurting at all, but the damage was below the gumline. The did this bone graft from COW TEETH! lol Good news is all the others are OK.

So not I have stitches in my gum. Icky. Good thing it's a long weekend. :-)

Oh well, beautiful sunset out there and no wine tonight. But it's OK, it's all good. :-)

Seawall guy is over again, trying to get the permits finalized so he can begin work this weekend. Can't wait. We'll regain alot of land, and that means I can plant more things, um, NO CARING for things!

Good night all!

ruh roh.... we've got rain :-( bad news so close after the fire.
But GOOD news... one of the animal control officers came into the shop a little bit ago. He said that they've been finding so many cats ALIVE! Apparently, they hid in sewer pipes and small holes so their pads on their feet are burnt and their faces singed but that's such wonderful news :-) Over 100 people have lost cats.

It's been a pretty good day here, not too hectic but not too slow and boring. Rasta and I will have to wade out to our car though from the sound of the rain on the building.

I'm going to sign off now so that I can get to the Post Office before they close.

Woo Wee what a day. Work was quiet but allowed me time to gets tons of billing done. We're gearing up to enjoy the Holiday starting tomorrow afternoon! Don't want to see my desk again until next Monday :-)

Had a great night as it was Thanksgiving meal at soup kitchen. 55 people were served a warm meal of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, rolls and pumpkin pie! Everyone left full and I was so thankful to be there to serve.

Debbie, hope you're doing OK considering!
Good luck tomorrow. Please let us know when you're home and all is well.

Lots of hunters in the National Forest when we ride on the weekends :-( The bear dogs make me sad!!!! Nice dogs just hate what they do!

RA, your smellp*ecker comment made me have to excuse myself LOL!

KIV - thank you for the work you and Rob do at the soup kitchen. I recently read a book - Can't quite remember the title, got it now.... 'Same kind of Different as Me'. True story by Ron Hall and Denver Moore, telling the story of Debbie Hall and her work with the homeless.. Excellent book.

p

Just finished watching the second half of Ransom. (Just to look at Mel!) Sometimes I just flick through the movie channels and find something I like in progress, and finish watching it! I didn't know that the kid that played the son was Nick Nolte's son. Interesting.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve Eve everyone! John has a four day weekend! Wohee! We'll keep the grandgirls tomorrow night, and try to make some special memories for them! Right - Grandma stuffing the turkey!

My neighbor and I may take the collective 5 girls to Light up UCF tomorrow evening. (University of Central Florida) It's at 6:30 pm and that's when they do some special light show, and Santa is there too. Most students will be away, so it should be just locals. Sounds like free fun!

Going to see what else is on the telly!

PUPPIES are AWAKE :-) If you read the comments poor Poppa SFShiba fell and hurt his arm while stepping into the arena. The comments and concern from around the world are so heartfelt. Maybe I'm over-reaching but the Shiba 6 seem like such a Holiday Miracle --- healing when the world needs it most :-) :-):-)

Man, I just had such a scare.... I was watching the pups and could only find 5. I thought one had gone :-( We're safe for now though ~ they're just being weighed.

And I just got the word that the Bacarra Spa is providing the entire meal for T-day at the fire station.... now that I have 4 pie crusts and makings for pumpkins, peach and cherry pies :-) I'm still going to make Mara's Buffalo Dip. It was a hit last year.

I think I want to put together a nice cheese plate to take to the wineries on Friday too.... oh Jerry!!!! What cheese would you choose. The rains are supposed to be done by Thursday.

Okay....
Kathy, sorry 'bout the stitches - that is bad timing!
Gail, I wish I were your grandchild - you do it right!
