Morning, Bif! I have the puppy cam up but is still says off air. :-( I hope all goes well with your appointment.

I'm meeting Sherman Alexie today and am way too excited! I have to be "cool" in front of my students, but I'm like a giddy little school girl. LOL!

Morning gang!!!

Good luck at the doctor, Bif.

Tribs, being giddy is fun LO :-) Enjoy your visit; sounds exciting!

Miss Bubbles is a year old today so I will spank her shortly LOL! She's wound up today and I would just LOVE for her to meet those SIX puppies LOL!

I can't find my link so will go back to yesterday. That cam is just too much fun and it's causing the economy to fail further as we aren't getting much done here LOL!

Happy Woofday Bubbles! Does she get a special puppy treat? Socrates got a McDonald's cheeseburger on his b-day (don't tell the vet!). Of course, Socrates was a wee bit bigger than Bubbles. LOL!

Hi Donna!

Tribs, I sent Amanda your e-mail address this morning. I spoke to her last night and she sounded stressed about the grad school thing. :-(
Thank you for your input, she was surprised to hear that others of her caliber also do not get into Teach for America....thank you again for your input offer to help and kind words....

and thank you to EVERYONE for their hugs and kind words!! BT is the best. :-)

Thanks for the B day wishes, Tribs. I think I will cook them steak and eggs tonight :-) Sadly I cook for them everyday so to them that's not special LOL! Hmmmm maybe I will just spank her more than normal?! :-)

I know...buy her that automatic ball thrower. Does she chase balls? That thing is way too cool.

Hey Bif, who is LIV?
Good cold morning to you all. Looks like we'll be checking out the puppy cam today. Those little babies are fun! I'm on the hunt for kitty cam. (plus work UGH)

My database has been off line since last Wednesday to be upgraded and is up and running this morning. It should be an adventure today.

I'll pop in from time to time to complain.

Thanks Krispi :-) We're organizing a fundraiser for a beloved cooking teacher, Paule McPherson. She and her husband had lived in their cottage in the mountain since the early 70's. It was the site of many class parties. :-( Very sad to know they have lost everything but the community is really coming out to help ~ so many businesses are giving things away (Longs Drugs gave fire victims free toiletries and assundries), restaurants have been offering free meals and landlords are opening up places for free. One apartment complex had 3 apartments that were empty ~ they filled the refrigerators and furnished them before giving them to victims for the next 3 months free.
That's the Santa Barbara I know and love :-)

Fire pics...and aftermath...Wow..I'm so sorry for anyone in that area...hugs/prayers/etc...

Had a nice day with Mom. Took her for bloodwork and to K-Mart and to lunch...very nice day! :-) Did some Christmas shopping, too...and got a few things for me :-)

Krispi, you got that right (about the babies of any species) I could watch that one video of the baby laughing about the ripping paper for hours. So genuine!!!

Thanks for the prayers and good wishes Donna. There are a lot of people who will not have the Thanksgiving/Christmas they had planned but still have much to be thankful for!

Did you get your son to fix the PuppyCam for you?

Ahhh, over the hump feels good.
I'm making sketti and garlic bread and salad. smells good in here!

So, I got an appt with the surgeon for Dec 8, then I'll get a surgery date. Guess there's nothing left to do but enjoy till then?! We're going to have a "going away party" for my uterus. lol (Suggestion made at work, and my girlfriends WILL do it!)

OK, GROSS! So I'll quit talking about it. I just hope all our BT family gets over the humps in life, has fun, and has luck and a positive outlook. It's all good! :-)

Boom - why was it called the Tea fire? Were the college kids brewing a little black peako or Earl Grey when the winds kicked up? (Just joking - but not about the name the tea fire....)

It was almost funny to look at the slide show with puppy grunts coming from a downsized window! Almost as if they were there. Not funny ha ha - but funny weird.

I don't know why, but I thought all the puppies were male. Duh for me. Here's the roster:

Girls:
- Autumn (Purple collar) - 4 lbs 1.2 oz (as of Nov 18th)
- Ayumi (Yellow collar) - 3 lbs 14.6 oz (as of Nov 18th)
- Amaya (Red collar) - 4 lbs 0.2 oz (as of Nov 18th)

Boys:
- Aki (Green collar) - 4 lbs 13.8 oz (as of Nov 18th)
- Akoni (Black collar) - 4 lbs 8.8 oz (as of Nov 18th)
- Ando (Blue collar) - 4 lbs 15.0 oz (as of Nov 18th)

I had a FUN afternoon! I met Chudney and the girls over at the University where they have an ice skating rink for the next 6 weeks! That's the University of Central Florida (UCF) where my son is employed in the IT group in the graduate studies office. It was awesome. Fortunately we were initially the only 4 people in the rink! I haven't been on ice skates in about 20 years when we took the kids to the UCONN rink for their only ice skating opportunity. Surprising, after a couple of laps of railing hugging, it came back! Chudney had only been on ice once, and the girls never! It was so much fun to watch them! Kira (9 yrs) was really getting the hang of it by the time we left. She still wanted to stay close to the railing, but was pushing off and gliding some good distances by herself. She fell once - and when I went to help her up - YES! - we both went down! Alex kept going round and round with one hand on the rail, but she did exceptionally well for a 3 yr old. Both of the girls thought this new experience was a blast! Little Mommy was working slowly at getting her skating legs to work, but I think she was more afraid of falling and breaking something to really let go! And I'm happy that I've broken nothing too! We will go back again and give the girls more experience at this new skill!

Have a nice night! :-)

Home after long day and a little therapy at Bed, Bath & Beyond! OK girls this is WRONG but.....they have a new PedEgg!!! :-)
It's a PedEgg with a handle O M G!!! LOL I am busting my arse back out to BB&B and get the dang thing tomorrow. I had blown my wad there already and then saw that as I was leaving!!! Made a better mouse trap on that one for sure.

It's like 12 bucks too....WOOHOO!!!

Well I see they are up LOL!
Donna get you son to get you hooked up on the PupCam.....they'll be gone soon.

Wow, so we made it over hump day and now it's all down hill, to the weekend, from here :-)
Just got a call from our next door neighbors who adopted a little boy earlier in the spring. She's a school teacher & he just got laid off 3 weeks ago :-( We noticed his company truck was gone but assumed he was working out of town. He seemed scared on the phone and I'm sad for them; just in time for the Holidays!!!

Tara, so very sorry about all the loss out your way. It just breaks my heart!!! What an uplifting thing to hear and see a community come together in times of need though!

KIV, they ARE awake, and Miss, yellow is reaking havoc again...lol...

Michael got laid off one year two weeks before Christmas...I had to take back ALL of things I had bought as presents to save money. Kindly, all of the retailers understood my situation and refunded my money for the gifts. It was a LEAN Christmas...so, I can feel their pain.

Mark, we missed ya!

Uh Oh, their bumping the camera again! lol!

Hi Mark! Hi Kobi!!

Sorry to hear about your neighbor -- I'm afraid it's only going to get worse before it gets better.

I found the info on pet fostering so if my friend's friend doesn't need me for their Weimariner I'll see what the shelter has. The cat place said over 100 people have come in looking for lost cats :-(

Well, the pups have settled down... that was quite a spurt!!

Oh and Gail... the fire was named for the area that it started in, the Tea House gardens. It's an area that was an estate at one time but has been left for public access to trails.
more information
It will be interesting to see how the DA handles the 10 college kids who started it. Very sad.

Boom - I'm torn about these kids. IF they truely thought their fire was out, then this was an accident that though no one could see..... and yet it caused such a horriffic result that we want to blame SOMEone!

Yeah, Gail... it's a hard one. Most people who I spoken to and saw in the news say they do not want to blame but it helps to know how & why they lost everything.

I thought car companies were giving better rates right now?? We always have a basic stock of food but I will admit to stocking a bit more than usual lately. Mostly liquor :-)

ah there she goes - I had to refresh the page.
poor momma was stuck with a bunch of babies hanging off of her!!!

The unfortunate part of blame comes down to who's going to pay... the cost of fighting the fires (4.9 million) and you know the insurance companies are going to go after someone.

I just wouldn't want to be them or their parents :-(

Evening Kobi. Thanks for asking about Gdad. We had a care plan meeting last Wed. and they said he was 50% improved and will probally be home for New Years. Still a lot of confusion but with the Deminsha we knew it was comming. Strength is getting better but he needs to eat more than two bites of food to be strong enough to come back home.
