Morning Everyone!

Freddie, glad you made it to the other side!

Donna, nice pics, but keep that white stuff, we are having a break in the cold, some nice weather on tap for the next week here. Hope you get some of that too and that white stuff goes away.

Judy, miss ya, wish we were going out for breakfast today! Then for a long walk so we could chat and catch up with things. Guess it will have to be a virtual one till February. :-)

Glad you all had a good Sunday in cyberspace. :-)
It was a shopping weekend here, but it's all done and it's all good.

This morning, I woke up at 7:00 (6:00!) and the sun was up before me. And I got my cup'o'coffee and came out on the lanai, and instead of using my own camera I wanted Larry to save in time the half rainbow and the great blue heron.

If you don't use it, you lose it! Trying again.

Nice pics Kathy!!! Didn't see much of the sun here yesterday. While Jerry/Skippy was having fun taking out the waterbed (maybe we should have told him to empty it first) we did a top to bottom cleaning of the house. The kids were so in heaven, I am sure they had a good time washing baseboards, beating rugs and cleaning everything:-) Hopefully, after I let them clean AND polish the appliances they will appreciate my saying "Clean your messes when you make them." By the way they were whispering, I expect at least two "Mother's Day" cards next spring:-)

Off to work at reno job today. Hair is getting a bit too straight, so I think I will work on electrical with breakers turned on again. I think I can be faster than the "tricity" today, anyway I love a good challenge:-):-):-)

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Kathy Hall - Bonaire Sept 13-27 (BonaireTalk Deity - Post #11500) on Monday, November 3, 2008 - 7:53 pm:     Edit PostPrint Post

I alllllways mess up my pic postings! And then I skew them to all heck downsizing them for here! But anyway, the half rainbow lingered for quite a while, then it rained on and off. I ran the little shark vacuum in the pool and it's so clean and shiny. :-) But it's getting down there in temps. 74 is what the thermometer reads on the pool one.

On the house thingie, my mom was sick most of my teenage and adult life (cancer), and my dad had left her for freakin' Maude. So, that's how I became the "mom" of my family. But I tried to make house cleaning fun! Make a bed in less time than it took to sing a sunday school song...clean like Bewitched, and the one thing I really GOT from my mom was "everything has a place. Put it back in it's place and you won't have messes." So that was instilled in me. Obviously it wasn't in Larry!

To this day, I put on Enya or something soothing to do the dirty work (like cleaning shower stalls and toilets and bathtubs), and it's over before the CD finishes and I end up calm, glad its's done, and enjoying my efforts.

Larry still doesn't get it. Comes home and stacks his things on the table, never makes up the bed if he's home and I'm not, whatever.

He even marks his socks so he will always wear the pair that came together in the pkg. Argh. But....these are things that make a couple a couple. I don't harp on "I'm not your maid", (um, should I say ANYMORE?) and he pitches in...by doing things like cutting the grass, pruning the trees, etc. Partners do what they are supposed to do, out of responsibility, eventually. :-)

It's all good. :-) Glad it is in your house, too.

:-)
