All of the pictures on our district website were sent in from my school. Can you tell we are some shiny happy people? The Phillies were fantastic.

Cynde, thank you for asking. Tim is doing very well. He decided to drop his flight contract with the Marine Corps at The Basic School. His reasons? I'll never really know, but I have a feeling he did not want to make a ten year commitment to the Corps. That is what aviators have to serve. He did get his first choice, as his class ranking at Quantico was pretty high. He is going to be an artillery officer. I imagine he will be going to Afghanistan, once he gets in the fleet. They really do not use artillery in Iraq, as it is mostly urban. How is my man Dylon?

On other Tim news, I introduced him to a teacher in my district in late August, at a football game. They have been going out since, and they are in serious love. She will also be attending the Marine Corps Ball in Richmond, where Quantico holds their ball. Patty is quite the beautiful young woman, and they will make a stellar looking couple. I will post pics after November 15th. She promised to take a lot of pictures.

Jim, thanks for the update. I've been wondering about him. Ten years IS a long time. Dylon is doing great. He finished his training a couple of weeks ago, came home, packed up his things, picked up his car, and drove to Florida (he's at Hurlburt Base on the panhandle). He loves the area, and loves the AF. I cried while he was packing, and cried when he drove off...and have a little tear while I'm typing this, but I'm so proud of him. He's going to be one of the crew of 20 assigned to the new Osprey the AF just bought 2 or 3 of them.

Good luck to Tim...and way to go on the fix up:-) Can't wait for pics:-)

Here's the old man and his on, Michael could not be prouder:-)

Ok, didn't mean to hijack the thread, but you asked:-)

Wow!!! Thanks for the link to your school district --- what great looking kids and quite a school. So clean!!!
Congrats to Tim for finding a good woman and figuring out a little more of his life path. He'll get right where he's supposed to be- he's got a great role model :-)

Hey Jim,

And if I'm not wrong, I believe the 10 year commitment starts AFTER flight school graduation.....

So it may actually be closer to 11.5 years total.

Dave, I think you are correct. This way, he will be out in 6 years. I do not know what he can do with an artillery MOS in civilian life, but I imagine having a degree in finance from St. Joseph's University (Jesuit) in Philadelphia, along with 6 years as a Marine officer will help his resume.
