Kobi - the 9 yr old bought a book at her school's book fair about a VERY spoiled dog. She showed me the cover and asked if I knew what kind of dog it was - and of course it was a Yorkie! So I told her about my on-line friend that had 3 yorkies! Sparked her interest, but also questioned why Grandma had on-line friends. oye vie! Computers and kids theses days! On with the pic's!!!!!!

Here are some pics from our "drive" on Sunday. First stop was Nubble Lighthouse. I have wanted to see this ever since Cecil started posting pics of it, I was not disapointed!

We wanted to try to dive Nubble, but once we got there, we decided it was probably too rough. I told Cecil, this is like California beach diving...come on!





Since we had to bag the dive at Nubble, we drove south and Cecil showed me their other fav spot...looked a little rough there as well.


There were LOTS of surfers out.

Jerry got it in one. I am still amazed at how nice a day Cynde got in New England. Warm, sunny and dry in late October, UFB. On top of that she got outrageous surf in our normal calm ocean.



I also slipped in a side trip and got to see the Navy's newest baby (it was on the way and we found a bathroom). May I present The USS New Hampshire.



She was commissioned the day before.

I see it NOW Cecil! lol! Cecil kept trying to tell me where it was, but since it's black (and we were across the bay, for the life of me I couldn't see it...LOL!

Awesome. Having worked at General Dynamic's Groton Connecticut facility many moons ago, and working contract changes on subs, I saw it right away! Congrats on the USS New Hampshire!

I'm still not sure I see it, the long black one w/ the lt. blue/white stripe?? I wish I could have seen that lighthouse. My mom did a painting of that when I was little. I gotta ask her where that is. It was beautiful!!!

LOL PS, glad I'm not the only one...yes, it's right in front of the grey boat...you can see the black "stack thingie" sticking up. Cecil is gonna ream me for calling it a "black thingie" but I have NO idea what that part of the sub is called..."the hat" maybe? LOL!

PS, I got REALLY lost trying to return my rental car at the airport, remember "that" tunnel? I went through it SIX TIMES (three each way)...and over the bridges and back behind it (that we didn't find at 2am Friday night thank goodness)...it took me a half an hour to get to the rental return, even with Mr. Connery (well, it wasn't his fault, I put in the Budget corp offices instead of rental return)...LOL!

I was wondering how that went as I was on the bus this morning w/ someone that KNEW where they were going...I was actually looking to see if we'd pass you! I thought maybe you were still driving around!!!LOL

You should have seen me trying to find MY car at the Orlando airport, then driving around and around the airport...I couldn't figure out how to get out of there!! And I've done THAT before!! That's why I got home so late. I was lost...

HaHa!!! I was cornfused too.... I was looking for a big grey ship

Do you think they make airports so confusing on purpose?? Even our tiny airport here gets people confused and you can see from one end to the other.

Boom, me too...I guess they haven't been grey for a LONG time according to Cecil...LOL!

Well, I don't feel too bad, returned my car to the rental place, was so glad I actually was able to get it to the right spot, gal comes up and asks me if I put gas in it. Duh! I totally forgot and she said I had lots of time to go get some and come back. Did she not understand how hard it was for me to actually get there to begin with, but since I would have to pay lots more if I didn't, I braved it out there and got lost as my GPS did not have gas stations on it programmed, so I just kept driving till I found one, then took forever to figure out how to get back to the rental return, but hey, it only took 45 minutes to do it, she said it was only less than 5 minutes away. I think I went the wrong way, but I did get there and it was all good.

Cynde, I wished I had taken a later flight and gone with you to Cecil and Sue's home and of course have breakfast with all of you next time I know to book a flight for later in the afternoon.

Debbie, my gps automatically shows gas stations...I remembered real early to get gas before I hit the city...good lord, if I would have had to go back out, get gas, and find it again? no way...

Cynde, I am still making friends with my GPS, as long as I program stuff in ahead of time, I am all good. I just got an email from hubby telling me how to find gas stations if I need to. All I had to do was hit the Points of Interest button, then hit the one that says Fuel. Who would have known? Not me! Duh! You should have seen my face when I knew I had to go back out there and get gas and then get back, but, I did it and saved a ton of money they would have charged me if I didn't. I was so mad at myself, as when I left Jerry's, I knew I had to get gas when I got close to the airport, but totally forgot when the time came and I just wanted to get to the rental return without missing it. Oh well, learned a new thingie about the GPS.

Hey, I am going to look into the sound effects you got going on with yours, that is cool! Mine just talks to me presently.

Debbie, on our GPS, you can press the interest button, but it also has little icons on the map as you go along for food, gas, hotels, etc. So you know if there is one near an exit, etc.

We did the "gas" thing in Washington a couple years ago. First time renting a car with GPS, we were so enthralled at listening to us get to our destination with no hassles, we arrived at the car rental return and went "oh sh#$" we forgot to gas up. Unfortunately, they did not give us the chance to go refuel...

For the sound effects, et al, I just plugged the GPS into my computer, and it hooked me up. You can get map updates and all kinds of stuff, it's pretty cool.

I HATE PAM'S GPS. Sorry for yelling but, there is nothing quite as-as-as fun as having two women telling you where to go then, screaming "RECALCULATING" when you miss a turn
