Judy, so far so good! :-) We are finally done with taking down all the trees that needed to be cut down so my son can begin the process of making a back yard now. Lots of tree stumps to grind. Been a two year process, think we took down about 50 trees total. Still have about 7 or 8 keepers left in yard, working a little bit here and there. First the stump grinder, then the back hoe to level it and then I guess either a sprinkler system or just topsoil and sod, not sure what he wants to do, he may just try to seed it. All I know is our job is done. Phew! :-)

Krispi, Looks like you are having fun! As you should be. :-)

They belong to Timmmy. Can't remember their names, but they played like crazy in and out of the pool during the FLAMM.

Roy, that looks so nice!

Say, Linda, just to answer your question from yesterday: Yes, pneumatic players with paper music rolls were indeed the standard for player pianos in the day. That's the way they were invented.

Now, of course, they're digitized and both play and record, replicating the motion on the action on a piece of music by using either a gray scale technology or Piaso wire, depending on the system.

I like the crazy old pneumatic players...very Rube Goldbergian and individualistic. There's a place in San Francisco called the Musee Mechanique that has collections of mechanical music devices that make me crazy, I like them so much. Both player like devices and wind ups. Great place.

Ok...I feel better now that I'ved answered Linda....my apologies to everybody else...

Chuck, shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, let me get the job first.

Kobi, it's time somewhere - go for it.

Jerry, Hoppes.

(am radio voice)

"HEY GIRLS, ARE YOU LONELY IN THE FALL BECAUSE YOUR GUY IS AT DEER CAMP? WELL HOPPES CAN HELP YOU REIGN YOUR OL MAN BACK IN AND HAVE HIM UNDER YOUR THUMB, JUST LIKE THE DAYS WHEN YOU WERE COURTING. JUST PUT A DROP OR TWO BEHIND EACH EAR AND OL BUFORD WILL BE DONE THINKING TWICE DEER CAMP. FOR THOSE HARD TO PLEASE MEN OR THOSE THAT ACTUALLY LOAD THEIR GUNS AND HUNT WHILE AT CAMP, TWO ADDITIONAL DROPS BEHIND YOUR KN... WILL HAVE HIM SELLING HIS ARSENAL AND STAYING HOME WITH YOU DOING EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT. THAT'S RIGHT GIRLS HE WILL EVEN BE BEGGING TO SPEND QUALITY TIME WITH HIS IN-LAWS" Listen to what Louise G. of Mass said in this unrehearsed phone conversation. "My man would never hang around when my family would visit. I think he even misbehaved on purpose a few times just to get himself thrown out of the house when they were expected. Well, after I discovered Hoppes and applied just two drops those days of him actually enjoying himself ended (evil woman laugh heard) All he does now is ask "Honey, can we invite your family for another month long stay? We Can? Oh, you are so good to me. Can I clean the toilets for you too? One day I spilled a few drops on the floor and next thing I knew he was sewing new curtains, pretty ones too. Thanks to Hoppes I am so happy that I think next week, I am going to start teaching him needlepoint. If he is good that is:-)"

HOPPES, KINDER THAN NEUTERING AND NOW AVAILABLE IN FINER SPORTING GOODS STORES EVERYWHERE.

Warning: Using more than four drops of Hoppes has caused some men's minds to melt.

Whew, I need to go sniff a muffler after that. But first
Jerry asked for this one
POOOOOOOOOOOOOOF

CB, Thanks for the answer. You would have loved the collection of music boxes a friend of my mom's had. She must have had 100 of them in all shapes, sizes and ages. I thought of how they worked when I mentioned the paper rolls on our old player piano.
Is the Musee Mechanique near a pier? If so, our dad took us there when we were kids. It was fun.

Jerry, save me some of that tunahhhhh!! I LOVE that dish.

Sorry I didn't get back here sooner, have a great nite Chuck. I don't save you tube stuff on my hard drive, don't know why mine posted and yours didn't.

If the weather gods allow, I won't see you folks tomorrow, hoping to get out and enjoy another day of clean air and great views.

Colchester to Bennington, to Wilmington then taking Rt 100 north to Waterbury then back to Colchester. Then again, everything is subject to change depending on weather, other drivers and mood - right?

I think we're going to have to give Linda the Tara/Mara quiz. I know, I know - we are both about the same age, both walk for Breast Cancer, one has a husband named Guy and the other has a husband on a team called 3 Girls and a Guy. We both like to cook fun and exciting meals. And while the names a spelled close to the same they are pronounced differently... Here's the pronunciation...

Tara - sounds like tar a
Mara - sounds like Sarah

So that's the quiz - who is who - Boom or YoMO.

Hint... YoMo is a Captain :-) Shiver me timbers.

Are you all aware that Karel's is gone? I'm so sad. I can't get to my Bonaire pictures on this computer.. the external hard drive took a dump a while ago.

Hey guys, took my oldest daughter and grandaughter to the airport just now, and stopped and bought Subway on the way home. I'm NOT cooking for an army tonight. :-) It was wonderful, it was hectic, it was a great week, but I AM glad everyone had a great time and is home or on the way, and my house is mine again. Whew, 11 people, 12 one day, was well, you know....hard to do when you're a little OCD! lol

Anyway, glad you all are enjoying fall. No signs of it here, except bananas growing like crazy. I like the pics though, so keep them coming. Not that I'm reminiscing or anything! lol I NEED warm sun and green things year round, so I know I'm in the right place (and at the right time in my life). :-)

Maybe I'll be back in the swing of things in a couple of days. Must regroup! :-)

G'night all!

I would never mind being mistaken for you Yo :-)

I got home and found my TiVo had taped an old Bewitched tv show --- that was such a nice surprise. I also finally lost the fight of keeping a cold at bay, so Bewitched was just the ticket. Pure fun :-)

Sleep well everyone and those on island wishes for calm and good thoughts are with you
Karels at nite Sept 2007
Guy and I enjoyed many evenings at Karel's and it made the perfect spot for us to meet our new friends who were staying on their boat.

So sad to see all the devastation on Bonaire to the piers/docks, and hoping the best for the reefs.

When such a tiny island (as it is called on Cnn.com) is so impacted it makes world news, it makes me sad.

I can't wait to see what people see u/w for the next few. I hope the reefs and corals were strong enough to endure. And I am glad that we saw it all in its glory a few weeks ago. AND I will be glad when hurricane season is over.

Sun's setting, supper's on. See you all tomorrow. xx
