Good morning. Here is the Sunday Lunch menu for today. Roast Chicken, cauliflower, mashed potato, broad beans, yorkshire pudding, gravy and stuffing. Apple crumble or apple turnovers with ice cream. Perhaps Elvira would like to choose as it is her birthday and she can have a candle or a sparkler in hers.
There may be a good glass of wine today as I am not taking antibiotics ANYMORE!!!!
I am so pleased to be feeling well enough to cook for you all today. Make the most of it as soon I will be away for three weekends and you will have to fend for yourselves or get someone else to cook :-) And remember that Patrick does a lot of breakfasts so he may not want to do lunch as well :-)
I have a lot of big hugs for everyone today so help yourself along with the lunch!

Julia, thank you for being such a great Sunday lunch host. I'm happy to hear that you are feeling much better and will be able to travel to Bonaire.
Good morning everyone! And PATRICK!! :-)

I'll be busy doing the normal house cleaning, gym, and shopping/looking at cameras today. If I am able to use my "rewards points" from Best Buy today I will probably purchase one today. Can't wait.
Earlier this morning I packed up a bulky comforter in my first ever Space Bag. It shrunk up to nothing. :-) I'll be purchasing more of these babies today, too.

2900!

Patrick, I'll cook this morning. What ch'a want?
What no takers? You must have heard about my cooking skills. :-)
I'm off for a couple of hours, but will return to finish up work at home, and start making chili for dinner.

I'm back from class and a few other things. Kobi, I want to put myself in a space bag. Think it would work?

I could space bag my arm LOL! That's about all though.
Those things are nice for de-cluttering.

Kobi, If Terry could fit me in one of those while watching a football game, stuff my head in to, he probably would. That way he could hear what's going on during the game.
Speakind of ball games, both of our home teams are playing at the same time today. The Bucs and the Rays both play @ 4p.m. What to do, what to do? Oh yea, we now have the technology to record both at the same time. :-):-):-)
I just started cutting the onions and celery for tonights chili. Terry is going to be one happy camper after work with two ball games and a huge bowl of chili.

Morning :-)
Linda the bag wouldn't need much sucking for you!!
Yup we use them too... love em, especially with our tiny house.
It's a gorgeous day out today, we had big winds that blew all the clouds away and all the neighbors pine needles onto our patio :-):-)
It's nice to have a purpose in life -- sweeping sweeping sweeping!

Julia, so very glad to hear that you are better - does this mean diving is back on for sure?
The lunch sounds divine :-)

Dang, I think I'm coming to your house, Linda! Chili and football......perfect day!!! Hope the Bucs win and my Cowboys too :-)

Morning, Tara!!! Your patio is beautiful even with pine needles :-) We have totally clear skies here today as well; gonna be N I C E.
Going to ride the dirt bikes again today.

Bubbles is SO enjoying her first fall; she's outside in the sunshine just taking it all in. Occasionally she'll bark at a birdie but overall she's LOVED her first year of life :-)

HUGS to somebody who really needs them today!!!!

I've got a pork tenderloin for tonight but both G&I were craving tri-tip last night.
We were so bad and only had chips and salsa and hummus for dinner.... can't imagine why we don't lose weight!!

Think I'll go sweep the patio for him --- he's still sound asleep so I'd better take a picture so he appreciates how hard I work LOL!!!

I go to the doctors in the morning to see if I have an intact ear drum. If the drum is okay I will be able to dive but will need to spend a bit of extra time equalising. Not a problem as I am a small critter spotter and normally dive at about 15m by choice. It will restrict Bob a bit but he is such a sweetie that he won't even mention it. The only thing I think might be a bit risky is leaping into Oil Slick but I'm sure people will tolerate me going up and down the ladder. So finger and toes crossed for 8am UK time. I will post as soon as I know.

:-) Yep, her daughter is really glad to be outside a lot this spring/summer & now fall. I figure she better take advantage NOW as Old Man Winter is fast approaching....BOO HISSS!!!

Rob said, last night, that he wants me to continue to cook good, healthy dinners. I'm like, um, Kobi and cooking don't go in the same sentence LOL! The pork roast last night came in a box from Hormel :-) It was great and VERY low fat and low carbs and packed with protein so not all bad just cheesey of me to "cook" something in a box LOL!

Tara, your meal sounds yummy!!!

I'm going to try to do better as my health depends on it. 70 lbs to lose and I can't do it eating carry out from anywhere :-(

We're gearing up to head out and ride the bikes again. Hope you gals and guys have a great day today. Will peek in when we get back.

Hi Tara! Julia, I will think of you in the morning and pray for the best!!!!!
Kobi, Are there any cooking groups in your area? Maybe cooking groups isn't the right name. There are places around here that have all the meats, veggies, spices, etc. ready for you. You just let them know what you want from their menu that week and they pack everything up for you. All the chopping and measuring is done for you. Just heat/cook and eat.

Hi everyone! You're all so busy! My MIL will be here within the hour and I'll have to be off entertaining. The dolphins game is on here. Kira is watching a DVD in my bedroom. Alex is asleep. I have a few minutes to myself!

We're doing a combo of grilled chickie and steak, John's special baked Taters, and fresh salad for dinner. Kira and I just had a piece of carrot cake, it's always good to eat dessert early!

I was reading some sad stuff on AOL news of the people still missing after Ike. And sad stories of the folks that stayed to ride out the storm, only to make last phone calls to friends and family about making a really huge mistake. Some were found later.... too late. Some are still missing. Breaks my heart. Brought home the concept that it's still not over for so many.

Alex is awake, and cuddling with her Daddy. Once she wants to do something, she and I will go put up my scare crows in the front garden.

Later!

Hi Gail, thank you for the reminder that prayers and wishes are still terribly needed for the victims of Ike.

Julia inspired me so I've grilled the pork tenderloin, steamed hawaiian rolls, and am getting ready to make omelettes with left-over grilled asparagus, canadian bacon and yogurt cheese.... I'm hungry :-)

I got the patio all cleaned up but there's enough breeze that Nature is laughing behind me as she tosses pine needles around my feet!!! You gotta love her sense of humor!!!

Afternoon Everyone, had a soccer game this afternoon for Brandon's team, they tied it. Great weather again here today.

Julia, I will keep my fingers crossed for ya at the doctor's tomorrow. :-)

Tara, you are making me hungry. We are just gonna do Chinese take away tonight. I always take one day off a week to not cook. Today is it.

I just hope the government/Fema will start to actually take care of the immediate need of shelters for the survivors. That is what is much needed at this point, a program they say that will start in November is a joke as to where are the survivors that lost everything to go till then? 75% of housing is uninhibitable at this point in Galveston alone, lots of other areas hard hit too, not enough hotel space for all who survived and lost everything. Lots of ho

Gail, Yes, it is truly upsetting at what Ike has caused in it's wake. With having a daughter down there, I hear a lot of stories that are so heart breaking and absolutely just one turmoil after another for folks down there. They are still finding bodies as they continue to search and I know they will never find all of those folks, hundreds still missing. I can say no one expected it to be a direct hit or as bad as it was. I can tell you that Galveston will come through this in time. So will Houston and all the counties inbetween that also got hit hard from Ike.

Honey, we're home :-) Just back from riding the mountains. O M G.....it's absolutely beautiful here today!!! I am in awe of the stunning creations around me. The sky is perfect & there is a slight breeze blowing. It really can't get any better than this I don't believe.

Rob and I ate a late lunch on the patio downstairs while the girls spent more time outside a few ago.

Riding today we saw TONS of Alvin and the Chipmunck family members :-) I swear they aren't scared of us & they sure to LOVE to dart out in front of us! Thankfully they can be fast when they want to :-)

There is an organized dual sport motorcycle ride this weekend so we saw lots of dirt bikes on the trails and the roads. One guy tried to follow us and we're like UM we're not with the RIDE so if you follow us you'll be off your trail LOL! OYE!!! He found the ribbons hanging in the trees to get him back with the bunch he was riding with.

Having extra people on the trails made me a wee bit nervous but we rode our hearts out regardless! I LOVE living so close to the George Washington National Forest.

Been back for a while. I bought a TV stand that I have to put together some time this week. Never purchased the camera I was looking at. My Best Buy reward points/$ won't come for another 4-5 weeks. I'll just have to save my pennies between now and then.
Looks like it's been a busy day for everyone. Hardly any posts means we're doing something else.

PS, How is Spice doing? Did he escape again last night? I bet he ate one of those pool frogs and that's what upset his tummy. :-(

Thanks Kobi. I'm working on his ears and toes next. The head is the most challenging part for me - I'm so picky.
I'm sure you have talents you're not sharing. Besides we like your yacking and steaming abilities.

Terry is grumbling in the other room. The Rays are behind and I think the Bucs are tied, but had to switch quarterbacks due to an injury. Grumble, grumble, grumble. :-):-):-)

Kobi, glad you had a fun day on the trails. Weather is really nice as of late.

Yes, I am saving for a trip to Yap & Palau. Every extra dollar I make in overtime, bear sale, etc. goes to that trip.
I'll feel much better about the job situation and purchasing a camera after I find out what happened at the Executive Committee meeting last Thursday. My boss asked me where my job description was in the computer before she went into the meeting. ???
If foundation decides to let me go I will ask the business (separate from the foundation) if they would consider me for a position with them. One of the administrative ladies is retiring in December so. . ..

Hi Everyone :-)

Julia - got fingers crossed & toes crossed for you for tomorrow :-) Lots of positive vibs heading your way :-)
Linda - your bear project is just too cute :-) Love the bear!
Boom - dinner sounds great---enjoy :-) Still haven't been able to find a tri-tip roast around here :-(
Debbie - yes, Ike caused so much heartache and unfortunately, it will be on-going for a while. Those folks/families are not forgotten.
Kobi - sounds like you & Rob had a fantastic day riding in the mountains.....nothin' like a nice fresh breeze in your face. And, Kobi, you've got lots of talent! Don't forget about your black belt in shopping :-)

We had a wonderful weekend! Jerry & Louise are absolutely the greatest people :-) We all had such a good time just went by too quickly. And we met famous Caymus! He's gorgeous and has a personality to match! What a great dog :-)
Haven't looked at the pics yet but will & will post some. Jerry should be home by now....had to catch a ferry to New London then about a 2 1/2 hr. drive home.
Dinner at Freddie's last night was oh so good...she always amazes me with what she puts together. We started with Lobster ravioli (compliments of Jerry & Louise) and Louise made the most interesting & delicious hors d'oeuvres of stuffed figs with blue cheese. Couldn't stop eating them! Freddie made the most delicious fish stew.....jam packed with all kinds of fish, shrimp, scallops in a wonderful sauce....yum :-)
Freddie & George's son, daughter-in-law and kids were there as well. Colleen made some great bread to go with dinner & a very different pumpkin pie which was very good!
Jerry brought some wine for dinner & it was the best....can't even pronounce the name but it was sooo good. After dinner George brought out some familiar & not so familiar drinks! Grappa....yowza....just sniffing it can give you a buzz! I felt my temp. rise after just a sip! He also had some sort of "special" vodka with something floating in it. Not me....didn't want to try that one! Then to close the evening we had some excellent port! I've never had port before BUT that is definitely on my shopping list. Good think I wasn't driving 'cause I was feeling p r e t t y d a r n good (hiccup) :-)
Today was breakfast at the cafe w/Freddie, George, Louise, Jerry, myself & Les. Good meal w/great people :-) Thanks Freddie & George & thanks Jerry & Louise & Caymus :-) Was a pleasure!
After breakfast I took Millie to the park & did a 3-mile (much needed)walk then did some yard work.
Will try to post pics tonight but if not tonight...tomorrow night.
Gotta get dinner going now
Hugs to Everyone :-)
BT rocks, rocks, rocks

Skimmed all that I missed last week (Sorry, but I've bin lurking from time to time tho) and man I missed a lot.

First off, warm, gentle healing hugs to those who need/want them.

Had a very busy week again. 2 New projects and preparations for the Regatta Week. Coming week should be quite interesting.

hi gang :-)
Sad day here... my friend's mother's kidneys have shut down. It's so hard, as you all know. Grace Campanelli is a wonderful lady. Fortunately all 7 of her children and her grandchildren and assorted family members have been able to be with her.

Other than that Guy and I have enjoyed each other and puttering around the house.

Kobi sounds like you had such a fantastic day. :-)
Linda I've got a few projects like that waiting for me... a shoe rack comes to mind.
Hi Bette!!!

Okay, I have to bring somebody to bed. Way to late for 7 year olds but hey, sometimes we have to bend the rules a bit :-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-)

Tara, BIG prayers for your friend and her family. I'm so sorry about Grace, her failing health and what lies ahead for the family. I, too, am glad her family could be there and see her; that is good for everyone.

I should have been puttering around this house today and not on a motorcycle! Lots of chores to do but they never make it to the top of my list LOL! Motivation is NOT my middle name.

I still have closets screaming to be purged!

Kobi I almost posted earlier today when I cleaned out the cabinet under the sink :-):-)
I wondered if that would count for closet cleaning LOL!

Bette, 7 year olds are supposed to see how far the line goes aren't they?

Goodnight, Bette!

Tara, I say the "under the sink" cabinet should count! Does anybody second the motion?!?! :-)
That is one place I really should peek at. The cleaning lady does but I never do LOL! Wonder what's in there?! :-)

Well, kiddos, I better sign off for the night. Enjoyed every minute I spent here with you.

Rob's already checked out for the night. Bits is on the other end of the couch snoring up a storm. Bubbles is laying against me sound asleep.
Bon Bini is over on the love seat having a dream as her feetsies are moving :-) They are happy, as am I.

I'm still watching the last football game of the weekend. I have become a football freak; not sure if that's good or bad :-) I forgot to eat dinner at normal time and broke Oprah's before 7 PM rule & ate a bowl of Kashi Go Lean w/flax cereal!
Flax spelled backwards is fuff fuff so tomorrow....I'll be sorry...LOL!

Hope you gals and guys have a great night.
See you tomorrow; same place :-)
