Sorry I have not been around for a few days, and will probably be that way for a few more. I am still recovering from the blast of cold/flu. Very tired but getting better.

I have posted tons of pics of Facebook. But I have a few here for BT. It's hard to choose. We had a great time, we took 3 flights over, which was a pain, we were up for 36 hours. We never drank water, the standard was wine or beer. We have to dry ourselves out... My sister's wedding was beautiful but I did not put any pics here on BT, I forgot to ask, on FB it was OK as long as there were no embarrassing ones LOL! My Uncle and 2 cousins (and her husband and daughter) were there - we have not seen them in 15 yrs, very emotional moment when we all got together.

There was a great party, and as some of you already know, maggot cheese, a delicacy in Sardinia was served. It was served at the end of the meal. After you had about 2 bottles of wine andin the dark. It is gross, but not that bad. The maggots are tiny, but they do jump so in one photo there is a gentleman covering up the homebrew red wine with some bread. I did try it, tastes very good, much like a blue cheese if that is your taste. The local men loved it when a visitor tried the cheese, esp. a woman as women tend not to eat the cheese. (I wonder why LOL!) I never saw any, but then again, I never looked! Sorry if I ruined anyones appetite.

The scenery was beautiful. We did snorkel, saw some fishies. Rome was amazing, very busy, the traffic was crazy! We hit the big sites, Colloseum, Trevi Fountain and we went to the Vatican. Saw lots of artwork, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Bascillica (sp) and went to see Pope John Paul's tomb. You could spend days at the Vatican alone. (Jeanine you commented on some of the sites, I have to look some of them up again!) Trevi fountain was beautiful, but very crowded and a fight between 2 locals almost broke out so Joel and I left.

I am happy to be back home though, missed the kids so much. The kids did great here. Quinn has a best friend now at school and Kedron is close to walking! Riker is still Riker!

Thanks for reading!

Joel had to delete the ones of the topless ladies. They were blurry. There wasn't really much to see anyway.

Here is the best we can do. Joel took a pic of a protest at the Rome airport. Not the ad. But enjoy.

Eileen, wonderful photo's! It made me miss Italy like crazy! You look great and it appears to have been a fun party, maggot cheese and all :-)!

So did you throw a coin in Trevi fountain?? If so that means you will most certainly return to Rome one day!

Feel better soon and thanks for sharing with us.

Very nice, Eileen. It looks like you had a fabulous time with your family and with your discovering and enjoying Italy.

I had to laugh a bit when I saw the protest pic at the airport in Rome.....it seems as tho there are events like this quite often. My Mom and Dad were at Rome airport in the seventies and all of a sudden everyone who worked there just "walked off" the job, dropped all bags and left the area. They came back in a few hours and resumed work as tho nothing had happened! LOL. A protest of some sort by the workers . LOL.

It looks sooooo lovely on the water where you were! More photos, please??!!

Hope you feel better soon. 36 hours is such a long time without rest. Rest up and enjoy the kids at home. Hugs. cb
