Thank you for all the prayers and good vibes. The ear is GETTING BETTER. I still can't hear but the swelling and pain are less ; not gone yet but not driving me insane. I think the mega antibiotics have done the trick. Thank goodness for a doctor who likes snorkelling so had sympathy with my plight.
I may have to sit on the loo for a few days, the meds have played havoc with my stomach but he warned me and I just don't CARE. It means I will probably get to Bonaire. Now we will just have to wait to see if it's for relaxation, snorkelling or diving.

Good morning all.

Julia, I am so happy to read that you are feeling better. Are you using zithromax? That stuff used to help me (sinus infections) but, BOY - OH BOY, the side effects were ...... enough said. Continued wishes for a speedy recovery.

Good morning everyone! Welcome back Eileen. I cannot wait to see your pictures. I have been pestering Wes for a while now to go to Rome. When I went before it was a study abroad program, so he has never been there. I can't wait to show him!!! Please write a trip report for us in CC when you get a chance (pretty please!!!!).

So that update I was downloading two nights ago, finished downloading last night around midnight. Gotta love Microsoft in combination with dial-up. I will be MIA a lot today because now I have some work to do on cleaning up my hard drive. You all have a great day and I will peek in when I can.

Linda, that was funny, I don't care who you are. When Katie was small, I used to hand the phone to her. Now I just answer the phone and depending on which gender is "making me the unbelievably good offer" go into a jerky boys type routine.

lol on the telemarketer..
for the newspaper solicitor we tell them if they can tell us what is on page 46 we will get the newspaper from them... they are from a state far away and have no idea wht our paper looks like let alone what is in it...
then the other one might be to ask if they can send the signal to an out-lying planet if they can they we will be able to receive it there.

Morning again to all. Got some hopefully promising news. Fema "finally" contacted Tiffany, better late than never, but she will be meeting with a representative at her apartment in Galveston armed with all the mega bills Ike has caused her and we will see if Fema holds true to their word of what they said they will pay. Part of me wants to be optimistic, but reality is telling me that from what others who lost so much more are not getting what was promised, so will just toss the dice here and see what happens. Nothing ventured, nothing gained is appropriate here. Appointment is Friday afternoon, she will drive the three hours back from College Station for the meeting. Everyone keep their fingers and toes crossed for her. :-)

Morning al - just a quick hello!!

Yeah - we're supposed to get rain too tomorrow and Saturday. While we need it I do hope that it is isn't pouring Saturday cause it's my 18 mile walk and Sunday is 15 miles. This is the biggest training week of whole shindig. Hopefully it will be nice. I'm going to have to walk the 18 miles by myself as Pete is going to watch Boy at his swim meet on Saturday. I would but I have invested too much in making certain that I am fine (massage, proper shoes, chiropractor, proper fanny pack, etc.) to mess it all up by not doing "the biggie".

OK - I've been dinking around at work all week so I'm REALLY going to have to buckle down today and do some of this project work. AARGH!

Have a good one all.

Linda, google "Jerky Boys" or type it in on youtube. Not politically or socially correct nor framily fiendly so I can't post links here.

A pet peeve of mine is companies that we don't and won't do business with faxing us their garbage (kinda like those that put their flyers under my windshield wipers). Having been trained by W.H.N. not to immediately growl/bite, I will call and ask that they remove us. If these same jerks don't and if their fax number is an 800 number, I have some 8 1/2 X 11 sheets of BLACK construction paper that I will fax to them, over and over, sometimes while drinking a whole cup of coffee. Have had a few call pleading with us to stop our faxes. Why does this mean anything, you may ask, BECAUSE I JUST GOT A FAX FROM ONE COMPANY THAT FORGOT. Am heading over to the fax machine with an almost full 20oz cup of Kona Blend which has a double shot off espresso in it.

CYA in a bit - PLAYTIME!!!

Jerry, mmmmmmmmmmmmmm Beau likes licking those wrappers.

Kobi, Debbie (Jerseygirl), Jim, Judy, Freddie, Gail, Cecil, P.S., Jahneeen, Patrick (YES YOU TOO PATRICK) don't forget your sweaters:-)

again, CYA FAXES TO SEND!!! BWAAAAAAAAHHHHAAAAAHAAAAHHHHAAAAAA

A few folks have asked about meds for future reference. Those not interested skip the next paragraph.
I am taking a combination antibiotic of 250mg amoxicillin with 125mg clavulanic acid orally then gentamicin and hydrocortisone ear drops. The second doc I saw was into snorkelling so decided to go for it with all guns blazing. It has upset my stomach but I don't care, so long as I get to Bonaire.
Glad you had a good holiday Eileen.
Hope everyone else has a good day, will cook lunch for everyone at the weekend but I am off for a sleep now.

Mara, Charge up your cell phone and Ipod. Those 18 milers can be lonely if you don't have a walking buddy. Don't forget to bring plenty of snacks - salty and sweet, electrolites (sp?) for your water and an extra pair or two of socks. And stretch.

Morning all....aren't we a busy group today!

Eileen, welcome back:-)

Julia, good girl:-)

Tom...lol on the Jerky boys...we get thoes stupid faxes at work too, never thought about faxing back black construction paper...teehee...I'm on a mission today:-)

Linda...lol on the telemarketer...I hate people coming to the door too...Michael sees it as a "challenge" and usually manages to either piss them off, or they go away with their tail between their legs...lol...

Debbie, keep us posted on FEMA.

hi to all else..batton the hatches...

UPDATE...remember the cleaning ladies friend who came in the house and punkie nipped??? well, the insurance company called on Tuesday to tell me the case was finally "settled"...so I asked...what the result was...

1. Lawyer number one wanted $30,000

remember, there was no bleeding, just a bruise...then she got "contact dermatitis" around the area...wish I would have taken a picture...

2. Insurance said..no way
3. Lawyer number two wanted $15,000
4. Insurance said...no way
5. Lawyer number two said..ok...$5,000
6. Insurance said...no way...
7. Insurance company settled on $2,000

I was livid...the insurance company said that it's "legal blackmail" now days...they have to settle for something rather than going to court as that's too expensive.

I'm getting a door mat that says "go away"...and having a "chat" with the cleaning lady this week about the whole thing...she is to have NOONE in this house...she may even lose her job I'm so p'od...

"Congratulations, you have been approved for a Platinum blah, blah, blah" before I hung up I screamed: "HEY JOHN, SEND ME A FAX!!!" Glad W.H.N. isn't here, she would have said "Tom, what did I say about being rude on the phone?" grrrrrr

where was I, oh yeah....

Debbie, nice talking to you, as always:-) It is great in tea.

P.S., enjoy your time with Jaci and Kayla:-) Give your Momma a birthday hug for me.

Tink, our phone number at home is only one number different than a dentist office. Many times late at night on weekends we get calls. One of my good friend is the director of VT Dental, he has told me that many Jun..... er, People with Addictions (yeah, that is softer and kinder) call hospitals and dental offices on weekends hoping for "relief". Being the gentle guy I am I have been so tempted to tell the callers to swish hot water, immediately followed by ice water in their mouths. Tha Boss (she keeps me in line, ya kno) stops me from doing it by saying "What if the caller really did lose a filling?". That girl ruins all my fun:-(

DANG, NEED MORE COFFEE!!!

Just an FYI everyone... here's an easy way to help get more money to Susan G. Komen. SAIA (one of our carriers) will make a 10 cent donation to Susan G. Komen for the cure for every click that they receive on the pink truck located on the SAIA home page that I have attached.

Hi kids, I'm back!:-)

It's WAY PAST TIME!!!!!

Mom, Kayla & I, had a great lunch, then some shopping, then we sat at mom's and talked and laughed. It was so nice!! Saturday is Mom's Birthday, so I'm taking her to dinner & then to the beach to walk on the Boardwalk!! She used to do that when she was young and hasn't been in many years! So, I thought that would be a good time!:-)

Krispi, I used to have a few of those suits. If you are in the sun too long, you will burn!!! You still have tan lines after. I never had a problem w/ them being see-thru...sorry guys!!!LOL

BC, I love that video:-)

LOL, Randy :-) A henpecked fella!!! I think you're in good company LOL!

You should do like our family does. We're even/odd in charge. Meaning I'm in charge on ODD days and Rob's in charge on even days :-) It really works! ok, so I'm in charge EVERY day just don't burst Rob's bubble LOL!

We do that, Rob's bro & his wife do it and my Mom & step Dad do too...LOL! It's a family even/odd thang:-)

I LOVE my Yorkie girls. Will always have one in the family; three is a handful though! Rob grew up with German Shepard's so never thought he'd go for a 5 pounder :-)
One day we might have something larger but we need more than 1/2 acre :-) You guys are welcome to come here and visit anytime; she can have all kinds of Yorkie kisses and snuggles!

G'night y'all.

I have been working on pics with a white kitty in my lap who just ran in tonight when I called the other cats in for dinner. First time she's come home since we've been here 2 weeks now. I'm sure she's Dora, who has been anywhere else but home for a long time, but just in case, I notified her mommy. She's a cuddler and sweet, sweet, sweet, and she can sleep on my bed anytime. :-) She just jumped down and wants into the bedroom. lol She's a mindreader. NO, she knows where it's cool and there's AC! (it's a hot night)

Today was the last dive day. And it was awesome. Totally awesome. I told so many people about the yellow frogfish just because I want people to actually find something they're given instructions to. lol We have chased chickens this whole trip looking for a seahorse, and we talked with so many people who had, too. Nada. My instructions were too easy. Go to the buoy at Angel City and look up and see where the rope ends. There is a single green coral with brown branching sponges. Look on the other side. We went back today and the place was crowded. But we watched while there and nobody was disrespectful to the frogfish, (who was still there), they took their pics and went on....mostly beside or behind us. We went to the second reef and to the south and lo and behold, just like always there were gigantic schools of horse eye jacks and other jacks a zillion wide. And schooling fish under them by the thousands/millions. Larry and I took pics, we both took videos. It was something out of a dream lived, to dream about, again and again. Something to always remember. It was..beyond words. Awesome.

Can't wait to get home and upload a few video clips. The second reef at Angel City is still my favorite place in the whole wide world. sigghhh

Home sweet home. I'm ready. After tomorrow and the 'round the island tour.

I'm glad one of the missing kitties came home to stay tonight. Larry and I have just been sick over the missing one. Can you say, Mylanta? That part of this trip has been horrid and gut wrenching and so sad.

Anyway I'm glad Ms. White Kitty (Dora?) is a lovey dovey. I need lovey dovey.

'Night all.
