Thanks, our trip was FAB. It really was relaxing despite some calls we got about business issues/customers. Being an owner I guess I am never truly on vacation But I don't answer to anyone! What, Honey?!! LOL

Thanks for the cheer, Kobi. I don't usually need one, but, I don't know, just one of those days.

You know, my mother is really getting better. She still needs one of those rolley things for balance when she walks, but she's getting stronger and her balance is getting better. I got her an exercise machine, kind of a rowing machine, but configured more like a bike(google Trim Rider), and she'll do reps 5 or 6 times a day on it. That's helping. So onward we go.

The wearing part is that the little other family I have has just completely checked out, so it's just daily management on my part for now....

Yeah, with my little business, I'm just the boss of me; it does take some effort to set things up to stay together when I'm gone, but, boy, is it worth it to get a break now & then!

CB, 9/11 hits me like that -- hard to shake off the sadness. This year I decided I just needed to accept it as reasonable and acknowledge it. It didn't change anything other than I was able to let it take a normal course.

My friends who just visited... just after they arrived on Friday morning they got a call that her mother had fallen and broken her hip in 3 places. She's 89 years old with severe dementia. Kathy flew up to be with her today.

Cynde --- that's a major haul! You and Michael are not going to get out of organizing it next year!

PS, lots of peeps are on AIM. It's easy peasy. I have never used MSN so can't speak for it but I am sure they are all fairly similar. You can do it; just do it before the beers start working LOL!

Kobi, the last two years the guy in charge is/was...uh...sort of a dork...so some prizes were ok, some were a bust. We tried to get stuff that someone would WANT...lol! The jacket is for our "Nautical Trivia" game..$200.00 dollar jacket, that ought to get them motivated!

Sorry for your friend, Tara. Dementia adds another layer of care for sure. It seems like so many of my friends ands clients are going through the same thing.

9/11 is something that Eric and I almost never talk about. When it happened, he was on an extended bike ride through rural Oregon: little news or cell service. So it was a couple days before he called me, and when he did, he couldn't see what the big deal was, thought I was silly for being upset. He said he didn't get it til he got to the Portland airport several days later and saw the news footage for the first time...he just kind of missed the whole collective experience. Funny.

The last time I looked up our house on Google Earth the picture was over 2 years old. It showed a lot as empty but a house had been built on it. There was a helicopter with photo equipment flying around a lot though a few months ago.

The Google Earth folks have made it their mission to drive down every street in the country, taking 360 degree pics every 20 feet or so, so clicking on ne is like standing in the middle of the road and spinning around....creepy, really. I admit to looking at Tara's landscaping, which is very nice.

RosAnne called her sister in law after GoogleEarthing her, and asking her what the big brown thing in her back yard was. Her SIL said "Where ARE you?".

Ok, I'm officially talking to myself, I think. Better get in gear too...

Hey Gang... I have yet to leave for chickens.
I received such a horrible email from one of my gym mates.... her beloved kitty was killed by a car yesterday. I would swear I can feel her pain from across town. She and her hubby flew to New England just 2 years ago to adopt him - I don't know what his breed is. I'm so sad for her.

Well we finally got the internet backup at the office. We have a portable generator going to power up the computers and phone systems. Still without electric at home are anywhere near me. They are talking about a week to get electric back to everyone. So if I can I'll get on when I can....

I worry about my kitty friends that I see when walking in the morning. I love the fact that I see them during my walks, but what are their owners thinking of letting them out of the house and on the roads. I never worried about that until I moved to Florida and its large population. Rant off.
