Do we need a different title other than that???

Been MIA, busy getting everything ready!!! I am getting somewhere though!

Went to the school open house last night! Kristi, I thought of you... never mind construction guys, the police officers there last night... drool... They were there to take info for police record checks for those volunteering. I will be volunteering Mondays. Quinn is doing well. He loves it! :-) The teacher is great, I really enjoy talking to her. Some of the moms there are great to talk to as well. Some definitely want to get to know other moms :-) and others not. To each their own right?

Now that I completely killed the start of the thread...

I hope everyone is safe from Ike and hope everyone is well!

Good Morning all those here! Welcome Ricardo!

Had I know there were good looking Cops there last night, I would have brought my camera! Unfortunately they were not frisking anyone... I get to pick up my report at the station in 2 wks... Eye candy :-).

Apparently in Rome the men are not shy in letting women know they are attractive - here's hopin' LOL! (Yes Joel and I have been joking about all this...)

Good Morning and Happy Friday Everyone!!

Hope you all have a great Friday. I'll do my best to make mine the best.

Debbie, Your daughter will be fine since she and her boyfriend are way out of town. I'll pray for their safety, too.

Eileen, I agree with PS that you should take pictures of those policemen. Nothing wrong with looking. :-)

HI PATRICK!!! Good to see you pop in more often. Are you feeling better?

Welcome Ricardo! Are you from Brazil?

Tribs! You were "ground"? Did you get his number.

Tribs - not happy about grinding...must have been an old one - just kidding.

Eileen - sounds like school is going to be a good thing for you and Quinn. I wonder about those not wanting to make friends - wonder if they are like - been there, done that - can I go home now.

Welcome Ricardo - no silliness here...I have NO idea what PegiSue is talking about.

PS - good to see you. It's a full caffeine morning for me...and those are RARE. It's usually half de-caf half regular. Heck, my coffee gal asked me if I wanted a shot of espresso in there as well...ummm - nope, all regular is more than enough for me.

Good morning Debbie - we'll be praying for Tiffany. I'm sure she'll be safe.

Morning Everyone. Here is some webcams of Galveston. The downtown one (the Strand) is where Tiffany works. Not all are current, but some of them are: http://www.gcoem.org/content/view/31/146/
I am very nervous with this Ike over here, hope Tiffany is inland enough! Not good for those there.

Wanted to give a special Thanks! to Pat Egger and her husband who have again offered their home to Tiffany is she needs it. She may need to go further inland and if that happens, I am so very grateful to them for their generous offer. BT'rs are so wonderful, I can't tell ya how nice it has been talking to her yesterday and I am sure we will be in touch as long as power is still on.

I'm from Florida and it is usually hot here.

You are correct. You and your friends need to go diving at Bonaire. It has beautiful reefs, the people are very nice and the island is very interesting.

Wow - cool graphic Ricardo. I'm not a blonde but I can play one from time to time. I thought that one picture had a person in it lying down injured - then I realized that it was a manequin.

You're English is very good Ricardo. So how many languages do you speak? Portuguese of course, and English and probably Spanish.

I've been to Argentina but was not able to go to Brazil. Instead the person I needed to train came to Argentina.

And I agree - get to Bonaire - it's beautiful.

Welcome Ricardo!

Bon Voyage Kathy!

Happy mothering Eileen.

T.G.I.F. to all! (Can I say that Jerry?! :-) )
Yes Gail, that's ok. But remember we are keeping an eye on you from now on. LOL
And Debbie - my thoughts are constantly with you, and I'm holding your virtual hand until Ike is over with. We sat out a cat 3 here with Charlie. Tiffany should be fine in Houston. The coast may not fare well, but they've done a good job on the evacuation. Prayers to all in the path.

Lots of errands for me today. Hopefully some time to just chill and read too!

It is a beautiful day in Katy Tx,(75 mi. west of Galveston) The calm before the storm? We have not had a bad storm for years so have got in the wait & see mode. When they started cancelling football games I started getting busy. We always have food, water, pet food, battery TV, but beer was on list to get. Run out Thurs. to small local grocery. Do not want to go to Walmart, will be run over by cart of panic shoppers. The lines at store were to back of store. Will have to chill w/o chill, to much to do to wait. Debbie, tell Tiffany to watch TV, they are telling what to do to stay safe. It's going to be bad for 12-24hrs. You'll have our #. I know as a mom how scary this is for you, she will be OK. Those people staying in Galveston think their going to party & then expect rescuers to risk their life to save them. Crazy Texans. Sorry to the folks missing Bonaire trip, we were there two week ago, had to fly back around Gustov, were hoping to get extra days. Thanks for all the prayers & good thoughts. It's getting bad enough in Galveston the reporter are leaving!!

In all my years of living where hurricanes hit, I have never heard warnings and talk like I am hearing about this one. These people staying to "ride it out" are not the most bouyant bouy in the Gulf!! I made a funny! But seriously, they are not too bright.
