Quinn's road to independence, his many years of school, new friendships etc. My baby is growing up. I am in shock that I am now in that stage of my life. I am very excited for him. I think the parents had the 'deer caught in headlights' look just as much as the kids did. I being one of them. Joel stayed in the van as I know Riker would have been very upset. Way to go Quinn!
Some photos.

Awwww....Eileen:-(:-)
He looks very handsome for his first day of the real world!!:-)

I remember all three of my kids first day. OH, I cryed!!! They all were so excited and didn't understand my reaction at all. But it is hard to let them grow up. I remember thinking that if I just kept them home, maybe no one would never notice and it would just be ok.

But, then I began to look at the first day of school as "The REAL Mother's Day!!!!!"LOL

All us mom's would stand there looking sad. Then the kids would be in their seats and we had to leave the room. We were out there high-fiving each other and talking about what plans we had for the day!!LOL

If they could just stay little forever...

What a very special day for Quinn and Mom too! Now, my daughter, only girl of my bunch, she wanted to wear a dress her first day, proudly posed for the camera and couldn't wait to get to school. Go figure, now my boys, all the same, just as Quinn, and yes, I cried with all of them. Funny you posted this thread, was going to ask you for first day of school pics! :-) I am sure Quinn will do fabulous in school and that is all good.

Thanks for posting. I feel very weird right now. Very quiet in the house. Riker is colouring, Kedron having a snack.

I was fine until I saw other mommys crying. It was a quiet morning, parents proud of their kids, just staring in awe - being proud and sad. He'll be awesome, he'll be awesome in the years to come!

Riker and Kedron are a calender year apart... Hmmmm should we have waited for a 2008? Nah, this will be good for the kids esp. when they become adults. They won't become adults will they??

:-) Today I realize how fortunate I really am and how fortunate we all are :-).

OK, I need some comic relief now!! *Sniff* *Sniff*

Eileen,
Thank for posting your pictures. Did you notice in the last picture how big Quinn's backpack is? :-) He's still a little one. :-)
The two of them look so handsome in their jackets at the front door.

I can't believe he's old enough to start school already. Wasn't he just born a few months ago?!!!! :-) Prercious memories continue to build.

I wanted to freeze dry Alex at two, because she was just a perfect size to sit in my lap or carry around. But she went and turned three anyway, long lanky legs and all!

Can't we just keep them little until their Carter's wear out?? :-)

Waaaaaaaaaaa!!! :-( Must look at construction guys!!!!! :-)

Kedron is not allowed to go to school, date, become 1 etc. etc. etc. I was looking at Riker going OMG - 2 yrs... Kedron to follow... the calender year apart thing. The Kindergarten kids are kept separate from all... The year Riker is in Senior Kindergarten and Kedron in Junior... man, that school will never be the same... those two... watch out *evil grin* Hee Hee Hee - I guess it is worth it (at times ) having kids grow up!

Awww, c'mon now Eileen, a WONDERFUL world is opening up for you and Quinn now. Get over to that school on open house night and sign up for "room parent" I did that with all my kids and I have so many great and uh, embarrassing moments at times, through the years. Lots of class parties, let's see, Halloween is coming up, get that Oriental Trading book out and get some goodie bags for the class. I remember being a room mom for Tiffany and my Brandon was still little and bringing him in with me to school to do my room mom thing that week, which was to read a special book that my daughter picked out to the class. We also made pumpkin pies, was a bit messy, but the kids had lots of fun, and the parties, and then the class trips! Lots of new adventures await. You can be a part of it all and so can the other kiddies! That's what great about school stuff, kids are allowed.

I put those gifs in there to make ya laugh, ya know boys don't care about girls till at least 5th grade, so no worries. :-)

Eileen - great pics and I'm sure it's quite the day. I would try to be funny about my "kids" first day but I don't think you'd really appreciate doggy camp stories. Though talking about Kedron I saw a guy at the mall in a shirt that read D.A.D.D. Dads Against Daughters Dating. Now you have something for Joel.

Aww Eileen, such cuties - they do grow up too fast don't they? I have 2 nephews who have reached double digits - EEEK! (The bright side is that one wants to be my dive buddy - now he's old enough!!)

Adorable pictures - and enjoy your quiet "mom" time!!!:-)

I know the first day for kids and parents is tramatic{sp}. but give Eileen a few years and she will be doing the Happy Mother Dance the first day of school... You know the one, you have seen the mothers they are dancing at the bus stops or pushing their kids out of the cars so they can go and meet the other happy Moms at Starbucks...

I was happy last Wednesday that I didn't get to see my Matthew get on the bus for the first time... {I would have been standing in a big wet puddle from the tears!!}
Way to go Quinn Man and Way to go Eileen.. It will get easier with each day he goes..{she doesn't know it but when Kendron starts for the first time she will really need us!!!} Hugs all around...

:-):-(:-):-(:-):-(, I am conflicted (no Jerry it's not an ex-lax thing). Eileen and Joel, these times are hard, hugs go out to you. However, Freddie is right, in a few years you will be doing the "Happy Dance" which is similar to the "Matt Dance".

I wish gasoline was cheaper, I miss those morning meetings with all the Happy Mothers at Starbucks (sigh):-)
