I'm appealing to my BT friends for help, a friend is planning to ask his girlfriend to marry him on their upcoming trip to Bonaire.

OMG that is just great ! I Love the uw idea. Then to be followed by a surprise follow up of their favorite wine, champagne whatever sitting with lit candles on the beach .. . (need a friend to set this up while they are diving) I would say a dive at dusk so it is dark when they come out. I am sure others will have great ideas. There are many places I could think of on Bonaire for such a memorable event. But I would love to have a memory of a proposal uw !! Oh Oh Oh ... under the town pier at night, lights off and waving fins to see the flourescence and when the flashlights are back on he has the messge written on a slate to show her. So many ways this could be just toooooooooo awesome. :-)

I would so love an underwater proposal, with him insisting they had slates. Just warn him to not ascend too fast! Oh wait, is cleaning the u/w webcam a good idea?

If it's done underwater, the o-ring is an outstanding idea. I would be a bit cautious taking an expensive shining ring 50 ft under, only to lose it to that funny looking baracuda

My sister and her scuba-divin' hubby wear their Exchanging Vows in Bonaire O-Rings (black) for their wedding rings... All the time.

Sera Largu or however you spell that. The view is amazing. And it has to be at night.

I think the donkey sanctuary. Hee Haw Hee Haw. Seriously, the pier table at Richard's would be very cool as well.

Jim Makes an excellent suggestion. We have stayed at the Beaurang Residence which is right beside Richard's. The reef in front is a fairly nice dive. There is a large concrete tube at about 25' that makes navigating your way back to the exit simple at night. What great idea to do a dusk dive, propose u/w and then have a romantic meal right on the pier.

Be a man and propose on your knee if you are serious. Otherwise rent an airplane to fly across the beach with a flag with your intentions, and go into the books as another lameoid. This is the rest of your life you're talking about. Sorry bro, but I've been through this before and the best thing to do is be serious rather than creative.

Hm.... Donkey Sanctuary. Thanks, McPeak. My sister first suggested the Donkey Sanctuary, too!!! You must be of the same mind. (just a little left of c-c-c-crazy)
