Morning BT. I was up early, but as early as I would have for work. After catching up on the threads it looks like everyone is having fun, except poor Cynde. I feel so bad for you Miss Cynde. Please place this HUG where it doesn't hurt.
I think I'll go to a class at the gym this morning, come home and do a little cleaning, then go have some fun somewhere. Terry is working today, so I'll have to play by myself.

We did go to Sunday's ball game. The Rays won and swept Baltimore. (sorry Baltimore fans) I was happy to that there were tons more little kids at this game. There must have been a promotion for kids going on because they all received 12"-18" blowup dolls of the mascot, Raymond. There were balloon artists making hats and animals for the kids and face panting.

I had better get ready to go to the gym. See ya'll later.

Morning Linda and Tom. Been up since sunrise here, think my inner clock is off or something. Yes, hoping all will be safe with Gustuv arriving today.
Will be in touch with Gregg and will post the latest from their area later today.

Off to get some food supplies before the crowd hits.

Morning gang.

Linda, hi and by :-) Good to see you here; missed you yesterday!
Glad you got some ball game time in and they won!!!

Donna, enjoy celebrating early, your day, with the girls. Am glad you got dinner time with all three of your children; that's awesome!

Foggy here but slowly burning off. Rob wants to ride shortly so we'll do that and then come back and chill. On a downer note, Rob thinks he could have another blood clot! :-( Having similar pain in his calf again so off to the doc in the morning!!! UGH...not what I want to think about or even find out.

Today, Bon Bini is back to herself and tummy is better. I need to spend time readying their food for while we're gone next week beaching it. Also need to tidy in the yard but am NOT looking forward to that. I have a weed garden that needs attention LOL! (NOT that kinda weed!!!!)

Good morning all of you. :-)
I've been talking to my sister in Gonzalez, LA (If you see Lake Ponchetrain (sp?) on the map she's just to the west of it, about 25 miles). She is worried and scared but didn't evacuate. :-(

Calm and nice here today, should be 90's. Freddie, you fish sounds delish. I have some orange roughy I think I'll make today, smothered in red, green, yellow bell peppers, lime juice, a little butter and onions and cracked peppercorns.
Found out what my bloating was about. blech TMI! Well, better now than on Bon. :-)

Have a great day!

Morning, Jerry, Kobi, Freddie, etc...

Yes, Freddie kids do grow all too fast, I was thinking over my french toast this morning about how long I've been a Mommy and how it's kinda all over now...can't wait for the next stage...brides and grooms and grandbabies...don't know when that will happen, will have to settle for college graduations/internships/jobs, etc for now :-) :-)
It's all good!!!!

Kobi, yeah it was actually Labor Day the year I was born, so this has always felt like MY weekend! :-) and the "kids" paid for dinner last night, too!! :-) It REALLY is all good! :-)

Bon Dia and Bon Siman!!!!
Linda, Tom (Beau), Donna, Debbie B, Denise, Kobi, Freddie and all who follow.

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!!!!!

Nice title for today's thread but I fear I have to violate the law here :-):-):-):-):-):-):-):-)

It's another hot as h**l, hardly any breeze day in paradise here :-):-):-):-):-)

Timmmy!!!, welcome on the island, my boy :-):-):-):-):-) See ye (maybe)!!!!!!

Had a nice Sunday.
Got up at 7am, dropped Marein at the Baby sitter's at 8am, in the water at 9am. Atlantis has a very easy entrance and I was surprised by the abundance of life. It was not a particularly sensational dive but we saw some exciting things like a huge Brittle Star, 3 quite big Spider Crabs, a shool of mating Black and White Snappers, a nice size Tarpon, a medium size Hawksbill turtle, 2 big Tuna, a big Flounder (almost as big as the one Tribs and I saw at Corp. Meiss) and the usual "Caribbean Hurricane Puke" .
At 12pm bat at the Baby sitter's to get Marein and of to hang at Divi's square pool for the rest of the day. It was just TO hot to do anything else.

Happy Labor Day!

John is at work - hoping to get off by noon if all is running smoothly.

The cable CO is scheduled between 10 and 2 - it's been difficult to follow the hurricane news without the weather channel. Been out since our lightening strike on Thursday.

I'm having left over chinese for breakfast.

Sending good thoughts to all of our friends in Gustav's path. We've had the feeder winds here, but fortunately no more rain yesterday.

That's all that's happening here!

I'm back from class and getting some coffee. The holiday spin instructor kicked our butts. He always has a great class.

Glad to see so many have been able to join us here, even if it's just for a bit.
Ashlee is helping me type this message, and sending out purry hello vibes to you all.

Tom, I get the same message on the video, but I'll see it later.

Freddie, Hope you get to dive that wreck. I hope to be diving next Sunday come H3** or high water.

Kobi, Hope Rob does NOT have a blood clot. Must take care of that ASAP!! Glad to hear Bon Bini is feeling better. Do they make puppy Tums?

Bette, Sorry to hear you're working. My Terry is, too. I might stop by the hospital and bring the Resp. Dept. some treats - just because. Bette, did you dive yesterday with Timmmy? You are such a lucky woman living in paradise! :-) Work, family, dive, work, family, dive. :-):-):-)

Debbie, Donna, Denise, Jerry, Kathy, Gail and all to follow - have a great day.

Tribs, you snuck in there while we (Ashlee & I) typed away. Take care working in the heat.

Linda, thanks for the furbaby hello's :-)
I have an arsenal of puppy meds; I keep metronidozale on hand for any garbage gut/tummy issues. I have a fab vet that helps keep me stocked up. I really do LOVE my vet and he's not bad on the eyes either :-)

Hope you get to go diving soon, Linda! We're praying we get to the beach this weekend & can stay there; Hanna may have different ideas though :-(

Tribs, glad to see you. Hope your feathered kids don't cause too much of a ruckus today :-) It's going to be 85 here and a wee bit muggy.
I think it's a Gene Simmons kinda hair day for me LOL!

Bette, still working magic on doing another trip this year to BON. Will keep ya posted!

I had to run out momentarily to get Rob a biscuit from Hardee's. He was craving health food for breakfast LOL! We're sitting here eating healthy and watching Start Trek NG :-)

Bette, I would love to bring you treats!! Then we could go shopping like I promised months ago.

I just checked my e-mail and was delighted to see a message from a diver/photographer Terry and I met while in PNG on the Star Dancer. Michel and his buddy Dany were on assignment for a dive magazine in Israel. They were very quiet at first, but opened up more during the trip. Anyway, Michel sent these links about his most recent assignment in the Maldives. I don't know if Dany went with him or not.

Here's the link to the article: http://www.braunstein.co.il/articles.asp?id=17 Here's the link to the pictures: http://www.braunstein.co.il/galleries.asp?id=69

Enjoy.

Kobi, Is Rob okay? What did the doctor say about his calf?
I should get a move on. Get some things done around the house. I'm thinking about a blood donation today if my iron is up there. One of our bloodmobiles is scheduled to be at my local Wal-Mart. How convenient!

What's up with these calf injuries? Yeesh! To up date you Bette, the one puncture that was giving me a problem has finally covered over. Not sure if it will hold up, but I don't teach again until Wednesday so I should be ok. The constantly being on my feet from 8:00-11:45 really slowed down any hope of a quick recovery. Like a month is quick anyway. Oh well.... No diving. Decided to wait until it stopped oozing and hurting.

Kobi you crack me up! Gene Simmons hair day. LOL!

Linda, not sure about Rob yet. He just came down this morning and told me he "thinks" he could have another clot based on pain in his calf/leg area :-(
We'll get him to the doctor so they can check his blood by way of a D-dimer test. If it's elevated the doc will then order a sonogram and then back on Coumadin if that's what's wrong at all. I'm hoping NOT; he hated being on that pill and so did I! I might be relieving the stress of Jan. '07 :-(

One thing I'm not going to do is panic!

LOL, my hair! OMG....after getting my new cut/color do a few weeks ago it's time to tame the beast again :-) I've let it go to sh*t and am not using my flat iron like I should be :-(

I have an appt. tomorrow afternoon at my local salon. Mom asked if I wanted to come back down there to get it done and I'm like NO THANKS as it was almost $150 there!!! NOPE, gonna go to my local chick and tell her I want a $150 Rusk cut and color for $60 LOL! :-)

Kobi Gene Simmons . Well, let's hope you only have the hair of that guy
Just ask your "local lady" to reduce your coupe from 220 to 110 volts . That's probably a lot cheaper
Fingers crossed for Rob and lots of positive vibes :-):-):-):-):-):-)

Just got off the phone with Gregg, weather in Galveston is good, sun is out, little overcast. He just got back from Houston and no problems with weather there either. Tiff had classes at her college (Texas A&M)so, all is good news. They did tie up the tall palm fronds in case though. That is about it. Very relieved at this point. Hope Gustuv putters out soon and does not do much damage closer where it is currently.

OK, so swimming in the tub just isn't quite like the pool but I made do :-) The backstroke was tough though!

Debbie, glad Gregg and Tiffany are OK! I am praying it looses it's umph as well and hoping that everything else out there waiting doesn't turn into anything worthy of the news!!!

We're lounging around before we go ride. All was quiet on the home front UNTIL Bubbles figured out somebody was in HER yard LOL! Our mow boy is here mowing and she made sure we knew someone had breached the compound.
I had to pick up all the toys out in the yard a bit ago. He does pick them up if I forget to BUT this time there was carnage scattered to the four corners of the yard :-) I picked up, I know, THIRTY, stuffed toys....UGH! The last one was a stuffed Cookie Monster and he appears to have been mutilated; not by the mower but by Bubbles; he is now blind LMAO!!!! Ahhh owning a puppy is fun.

Poor cookie monster! My neighbor's dogs have a lot of stuffed animals and their yard looks pretty hilarious some times.

So I'm done commenting on my leg healing. It never fails, I say it is looking good then whamo something happens. This time, all was looking good, the trouble spot was healed over and then I sat down on the couch. As I was sitting, the hole popped open! It was gross. I guess too much pressure. I'm going to go put it up now to let it drain and relax. Grrrr....

I hope the rest of you find something fun to do today!

Hmmm we might be worse than your neighbors!?! LOL! We often have toy carnage all over the yard; then when I tire of it I go gather them up. Dang dogs won't learn the "go get your toys, bring them inside & place them back in the basket" command.....LOL! They have NO problem getting them out of the basket :-)

OUCH Tribs! I'm so sorry it's not all healed up :-( We won't talk about it again as I think we jinxed you. Take care of yourself and be gentle!!!

We're heading out to go ride. See you guys later this evening......

Kobi, have lots of fun :-):-):-):-):-):-):-)

I seem to have the same problem with Marein. He has no problem what so ever to empty all his toy boxes throughout our whole house but when I tell him to clear it all away. He stalls and then suddenly he has to go to the toilet, draws me a nice drawing (he knows I can't say no to that), has to do his homework, shower, eat, drink, put on his pj's, go to bed and then I find myself clearing away all his stuff. I did that a few times but now he is not allowed to do anything else before he has cleaned up. Even if that means we have 2 "wills" clashing and I find him halfway his duty asleep between his toys and I'm finishing his job and then put him to bed.
O well, what's up there knows I LOVE a challenge and that is exactly what I'm getting

Hey, Tribs...you still around? I wanted to mention to you that my mom had a similar wound, got a staff infection in it that nobody caught, and had a terrible time getting it healed....went on for 18 months! So do keep an eye on it, my dear.

Hi everybody. We're having home improvement day here....lots of little projects piling up. It's actually nice to be puttering around home on a sunny day.

I'm happy to hear that Freddie's diving...I'd just been wondering if she's been wet lately, hadn't heard about it lately.

Hi CB! Just my son and I today. Gregg is still in Texas. He has a few of his friends over, so looks like I will be turning on the Bar-B soon to hustle them up some burgers and dogs. Been doing a lot of gardening today, got the front all done and part of the back. Still have rest of day to get to it, took a break and actually washed my car and did a load of laundry. Lazy day which I am glad for as I have been running around alot since Gregg left.

Hope Freddie gets some good fluke out there today, our way, fluke fishing has been really off this year as well as last year. I have a hard time buying it in the store, just not the same as fresh outta the water. Oh, Freddie, what time is dinner?

Well, it looks like I got three teenage boys sleeping over here tonight, Gregg will sure be glad he is not here. LOL! The end of the summer bash for them. All of them are really good boys, so I have no problem with it.

Guess I am talking to myself over here...cya.

Bummer of a holiday for John. He expected to be able to leave by noon, but 2 rides were down, and he's still there.

The kids needed my van tomorrow, to go 2 different ways at the same time, (they only have 1 vehicle), but they came at 10:30 to get it, so I've been stuck here all day. We all thought John would get off at noon...... But I got to see the girls for a while, and they burned up some more rubber riding their new bikes for about half a hour before they had to leave. :-)

The cable guy came and got us up and running, so I've been able to catch up on "live coverage" on the hurricanes.

So I cut the grass, got a shower, heated left over Chinese for dinner......and am sitting down with a good book.

Tribs - open wound is nothing to mess around with...... which you probably already know. My mother's started as a little pin dot, and ended much later with the toe being amputated. Please be careful.

I'm happy for all of you that are having a good day! :-) Really. Mine was just a boring ole manic Monday!

sadly no diving today for me... Hanna has sent some waves up this way and it wouldn't
have been a good day to venture out into the ocean.. the beach dive had over 60 divers go in this morning so I opted not to go in too much kick up from divers that don't "do" the bridge dive... had a wonderful day with my grand kids watching them enjoy the beach and bay water.,..tonight tomatoes with mozzella/basil and balsamic, hot dogs and beans... a great dinner for the "end" of the summer season.. had the fish and potato salad for lunch yummmy...

Brandon and his friends and I just finished with burgers and dogs, some corn on the cob and chips on the side. They boys enjoyed it, so I must have done good for teenagers. They will be going into the pool for some water fun in a little bit. School doesn't start here till Wednesday, but this is the last night us moms let them stay up late as tomorrow, they will need to get to bed at a decent hour, bus comes here early.

Timmmy, Enjoy dinner wherever it may be, got to be good, you are on Bonaire and enjoy those sunsets! I really miss those, I just watch the sun disappear in the trees from my place. No shore in sight here.

That's what it's all about, Freddie. Picking the right time and place for you! A few of us were going to do a bridge dive in West Palm when Miss Fay made her appearance. We're rescheduled for mid September for the next best time and tides for us.

And watching the grandkids explore their world is always the best!

John is STILL at work. :-(

Glad to see that Timmmy boy in Bonaire! You're avoiding Hanna and Ike!

Back to my book!

Evening everyone. Looks like most got to visit with family today.
I couldn't make a blood donation today. :-( I was just shy on the iron count. I'll be eating lots of spinach, raisins and beef this week to bring it up.
But it was a beautiful day out. Hot, but sunny and pretty (no rain).
Good to see you Timmy! Thanks for cleaning the cam.
PS - hope your son had a nice birthday, and enjoyed that cake of your. You did take pictures?

Gail, where in W. Palm do you dive? Is the bridge dive a shore dive? The last time we were over on the east coast was Memorial Day weekend at Pompano.

We're baaaaak! Did some riding in the National Forest! How'd it go you ask? NOT TOO GOOD :-)

Approximately 6 miles into a 19 mile ride I wrecked my bike! NO harm no foul though; just nearly rode it off of a ravine! This guy in a big pickup truck, hauling 2 four wheelers, met us at one of the many switchbacks. They were coming down & we were going up. Anyhoo, he stopped right smack at the switchback (a HORRIBLE place to stop the dam truck to start with) and motioned me on to pass and I went........that' when it all went to sh**! I passed him on the right & thought I had room to squeeze through. I got so far and then the ground gave way leaving the front tire on the road and the back tire in some weed/tall grass. There wasn't enough earth under there to hold up the bike and me! Sooooooo down we went :-) Seriously, was NOT hurt at all and was LMAO actually at how funny I must have looked.

The guy in the pickup hopped out and was like OMG are you OK!?! I was! Rob got his bike stopped and the other guy helped pull my bike up. Thankfully the front wheel was still on the dirt road and my left hand was still holding onto the bike. I wasn't letting GO LOL!

They both grabbed my arm to pull me back up out of the ravine. It was steep and thankfully I never saw the bottom! The more I tried to pull my fat arse up the more the dirt/earth gave way; quite a spectacle I am sure.
If nothing else I gave those three dudes a good laugh :-)

The area we rode was a place we hadn't rode for 2 years. In fact I told Rob to write that one off as "been there, done that". We rode another hour after my incident and then called it a day and turned around. On the way back down the mountain we stopped at the scene of my crash and burn to make sure there wasn't any poison oak/ivy; thankfully there was NONE. That would make for a great beach trip next week!

I am sure I will be a sore puppy tomorrow but already pumped myself full of Tylenol just in case LOL!
I have wrecked 2 good times in the years we have been riding and today was a piece of cake but a wreck none the less.

Hope nobody has as much excitement :-)

Gail, I am glad to have the boys here too, makes me not miss Gregg as much having them all here. :-) I talked to Gregg and still no rain, partly cloudy and all good their way. Seems that they lucked out with Gustuv. Not sure how Houston airport will be the next few days. Gregg will sure find out on Tuesday when he tries to get home. It's starting to get darker quicker here now, bummed about that as I know fall is close by. I don't want summer to be over yet.

Kobi, Glad you are o.k, bet your adrilanin spiked on that one!

Linda, All I recall from last year was that we parked in a county park area, and walked into the bay, and than dived in an area that was at most 20 feet. The trick was to get in and get out before the tide turned!

Debbie, yes, I was a little pumped up after all that :-) Made me more alert the rest of the ride!

Lynda, LOL! So far no soreness but it's not morning yet. I'm sure I'll feel like the freight train hit me tomorrow. Crossing fingers that I don't :-)

We just went out on our front porch to watch THE most awesome fireworks display! Our town does quite a show each Labor Day!!! It was FAB this time with some great designs; a few were in the shape of a box/cube!!! The Yorkies were not too miffed about the racket. We have a walk-thru baby gate at the front door so we left the door open for them to see.

I'm glad we were home to see that!!!! Makes me proud of our little town but also sad as summer is over :-(

Hope everyone has a great night. See you all tomorrow; same channel!!!

Happy Labor Day... :-)

Kobi, Here's hoping you won't be sore in the morning.

Cynde, HUGS to you. Hope today was a little better and tomorrow even be better than today.

I am going to check on the boys, they got real quiet and you know what that means, either they are eating or into trouble. Signing off for the night. C-ya in the am.
