I won the handmade baby cardigan from Julia, she just sent me a pic of the finished cardigan. I had her make it for Katie for Christmas. It is so beautiful, thank you Julia! I am having her make one for Katie's BFF Tori too, how cute will they be?

That is really beautiful. It has that Aran Island sweater design. For those who don't know, here is a bit of Irish history from your resident leprechan. Aran sweaters were made by their wives for the fisherman. If their boats capsized, which often they did in those seas, their bodies would be recognizable by the sweaters they wore.

It is also a requirement to knit a fault into the sweater. It was thought that the devil would seek out perfection so if there was a mistake in the knitting the devil would go elsewhere. It will be fun for Cynde's family at Christmas to spot what is really a deliberate mistake!

Hmmm...so, they will be recognizable if the boat goes down, AND we need to look for the mistake....lol!

I did not know that Julia. Leave it to the Irish to come up with that one. LOL I have a beautiful sweater that I bought on Inishman, one of the islands. The only problem is that it has to be a fairly cold day to wear it, as it is so warm.
