Heading out to the never ending renovation job soon. This afternoon Benny and I are packing our kits and going out for a night dive with some friends.

Received great news on Monday, Benny is going to Sea Base with his troop in April Little turkey didn't even let us know they were going until the trip filled. Fortunately, he was only second on the waiting list and he got a spot

Welcome to Hump Day with Fay! It's pretty much just a, well, it doesn't seem to even compare to our normal afternoon storms. Some wind, some rain. Some overzealous reporters on TV. So, it's gonna be an interesting day!!

Hi everyone...I just wrote a card to give Andrea tomorrow when we take her to college...I'm crying! ....I know this is a good time of life for her and normal and healthy and all, but....sniff, sniff...

PS, good idea with the radio. TV reporters are crazy during hurricanes. They think it's cool to stand out side in the weather the same times the local officials tell everyone else to get out of Dodge. Duhhhhhh!!!
Tribs, Have you read this book or heard of Professor Joel J. Gold?

He was an English professor at the University of Kansas when I worked there at the computer center. He may still be there. Anyway every day at noon we (the computer operators) would fight over separating the printed materials because Prof. Gold may have sent us one of his short stories. If you haven't read it, I'll send you my copy if you promise to return it.

Donna, yes, that's live. The camera's about 20 miles east of me.
We are only getting the wind and rain in spurts. (Can we say spurts on here?) I guess it'll pick up as this thing works it's way up the coast into Daytona. It seems to like Cocoa Beach and the Space Center right now.

Fay update from West of Daytona Beach:
Is there a storm out there?? No wind to speak of. No rain to speak of. It's just really humid and gray out.

I bet I could get a job w/ Channel 9!!! WHAT?? I'm not dramatic enough??!!!

OK, the storm could possibly move out over the ocean and become a strong cat one hurricane, bringing w/ it damaging winds and rain that will cause major flooding!! Or, it may not....

Cnn has that 8000 homes were flooded, do we know what's going on with Timmy???

They've only talked about some minor flooding on the news at noon. Of course, it's still raining in Brevard County (South of Daytona, on the ocean), where the flooding has been. So, there may be more as the day goes on. There were 51 mobile homes damaged down there also, from tornadoes, 9 in bad condition. Hopefully this will continue to weaken and take it's rainy self out into the Atlantic and die out there.

I wish Timmmy would check in. They got it when it was full force. And no channel has even mentioned South Florida since yesterday afternoon. That's not right.

I talked to my mother-in-law this morning. They are 20 or 30 miles east of Timmmy and Angela in Alva, FL. She said they're fine, never lost power, and just had big winds and lots of rain. And they are on a canal right off the river, so their winds had plenty of room to gain whipping power! They have minimal yard debrie - a few palm fronds is all. They've left the shutters on tho, 'cause nobody knows what crazy Fay may do once she starts moving again.

I'm sure Timmmy and Angela are fine too, and even if they lost power, the power companies have a clear day to work in.

PS1 - I think you should apply to be one of the news reporters wearing those L.L. Bean rain jackets and reporting the obvious!

No cable and internet - GASP! Who can live like that!

So if you need to know something and I have your phone number. I'll will at least call and make sure you are alright. So if you want send me those numbers and I'll be able to do my job better......
