Hi Ted, Cargill's Bonaire operation does not produce "table" salt. See: http://www.internationalreports.net/theamericas/bonaire/2006/salt.html

You can get Bonaire Salt at quite a few shops on island. It can be coarse or finely ground. It is used here to salt fish, etc. Most of the export is used in water softners. If anyone wants, they can buy a 40 kilo bag at the office of the salt company...

Every time I buy my Water Softener Salt I check where it's from, most times it's the Bahamas, once it was Turks and Caicos. What a traitor, I be.

Do you think Delta, TSA and US Customs would accept a 40 kg bag of salt as checked luggage?

Or you may purchase small bags of Bonaire salt mixed with peppermint and/or eucalyptus from Chat N Browse to use as soothing bath salts....... Or you could in past years, anyway! I still have mine on display in the guest bath.
