Thx to the kidlets, I'm up...

Jos! Missed you! Have not been able to email - your addy thinks I am spam :-(.

Today I am shopping for a Matron-of-Honour dress. I think a potato sack sounds good to me... weight loss during the summer is non-existant... :-)

And we pick up our new toy!!!

I thought this is cute...I wish I could do this sometimes, no, wait, I'm not that mean...

MORNING talkers.........
We're in slow mo (not MOW) this morning at this house! Beautiful, sunny, cool day though so we'll get into something later I am sure.

Need some good BT thoughts/prayers. Bits, our oldest furchild, is a tad mopey and not acting herself; both yesterday and today. Not really eating but bathroom habits are good. I'm watching her like a hawk and if need be we'll be off to the races to get her checked out. I inspected her mouth to make sure nothing was amuck in there with any toofers. Maybe she's tired? Maybe she's just trying to diet?! :-) I dunno but it's got me on edge. She's on her back on the loveseat so she's not appearing overly stressed but it's not like her to turn down breakfast 2 days in a row!!! A worried Yorkiemom I am.

She's 11.5 year old but acts like she's 5 so I need my baby to feel better!!!!!

OK, on a totally different cool note. Yesterday, during our riding trip, we were sitting in our SUB waiting on a shower to pass. We heard something off in the distance behind us; it kept getting closer! Then WHAM.........four F15 Eagles flew OVER where we were. They were not in afterburner BUT still hauling a@@! Rob, his bro and I got out of the car so fast it was all a@@'s and elbows! Three flew over pretty low and the fourth was higher and solo.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE military planes. That sound is amazing; the sound of freedom indeed! They were from Langley AFB, I am sure, and were practice bombing the dam that was right near where we were! It gave me chill bumps; it was awesome!!!!

We're not far from Langley and missed a flight show last month :-( We need to go to the next event!!!

Kobi, I do hope that Bits is ok. Maybe just tired, upset tummy, something like that. If she doesn't snap outta it, do get her checked out. Just so the vet can tell you that you are too overprotective. That always makes me feel better.

Very cool with the jets!! Up at the "camp" in Ocala, there's a bombing range right there and those things used to scare me so bad!! They'd come flying over so fast and low, then BOOOOOM! It shakes everything! Sometimes when they are doing that I can feel it here, I don't know how many miles I am from there, but it shakes the windows!! Usually that is how we know if something is going on in the world. They will start bombing, then you see some kind of turmoil going on somewhere, on the news.

I'm painting!!!:-)

PS, good girl painting :-) I bet you guys do see and hear them more jets than us inlanders :-) We really need to get our butts to VA Beach to see them up close next time there is an air show!!! Rob and I both agreed on that on. He lives on the military channel!

Morning PATRICK, Jerry and everyone else........
Patrick, you're not still holding your breath are you?!?! LOL
Will do that soon, promise :-)

I'm praying Bits is just having an off day or two. If her tummy was upset she would never be snoozing on her back so the fact that she's doing that is somewhat a good sign. This child has slept on her back her whole life; all fours in the air LOL!
Everybody in the house is chilling so maybe she's feeding off of our laziness?!?! Will let y'all know what happens, if anything!

PS, checked your blog.....LOVE your paintings!!!!OH and also LOVE the car you're using to come get me to go to Jerry's LMAO!!!

We're really in veg mode here and being seriously lazy. Got Bits to eat some lean steak so she's still got it in her :-) I just hate seeing my girls getting older!!!

I'm watching rowing and am TOTALLY amazed at the spotters/coaches on the bikes in the background....nobody has busted their arse LOL!!! They have to watch where they are biking as well as trying to watch the rowers.

Hey Everyone, I have a bit of sadness going on today. Last night as I held our little Bijou hamster in my hands she passed away.

The thing was just so sweet, came when you called her name, only wanted to be hand fed and cuddled. She got a cold and the vet thought she would be okay but with these little guys they get pneumonia in a matter of hours and then they are gone. We just celebrated her 1 year birthday and we are all very sad. I know with all the other sadness and loss lately this seems insignificant but none the less we feel a loss. I'm cheering myself up thinking about landing in paradise in 2 days.

Oh, RA, big hugs to you and the kids!!! I know that little gal was so happy to have your love and affection & had a great, loving home.

We lost a teddy bear hamster a few years back and, yes, they really can go down hill very fast. I am glad she was in your arms when she passed; still feeling your love!

Again, BIG hugs to you all. I'm sorry.....

Hi guys, late check in as I've been working my BOODIE off since the crack of dawn this morning! The pool guy left a mess for me, and that took 2.5 hrs to clean up, after the house cleaning (I'm a nut about perfect clean on Saturday mornings, and we missed a Saturday). Then we decided the pool pump/motor/clorinator are just too old (8 years) and went to buy a new one, which is yet to be installed. But it will be soooo much better. :-)

I'm happy with it so far. It's going to be a complete new pool. :-)

Cut back the jungle in the back, cut grass and bought some new plants, but that's going to have to wait (the planting) as there's of course, a storm coming in. But right now I'm thinking that rain is "free" water for the pool.

Speaking of storms, the projected path of TS Fay brings her right to Tampa by Tuesday morning, where she's expected to turn into a Cat 1 hurricane. yikes

Ok, well, off for a bath and some relaxation afterward.

So sorry about your hamster RA.

FULL MOON WARNING to you all as well. Yep, tonight. Stay away from werewolves, and don't let yourself turn into one, either! lol

xxx

Morning Everyone!!!

RA, so so sorry about your baby. I used to raise hamsters when I was a kid - they are special creatures. I'm thinking about getting one for the office.

Debbie :-) :-) :-) Thanks for sharing your vaca with us

Kobi definitely keeping good thoughts for your baby. I ran LG into the vets last week just to have her tell me he looks GREAT! Okay then, here's $40!!! It's worth it.

Dinner last night was FABULOUS!!!! Every stitch of food worked brilliantly, the wine was wonderful and my evil planned worked. My two friends have known each other for well over 25 years but have been kind of snipping at each other for the last two. I purposely kept the night to just us so there wouldn't be any distraction/escape from them having to talk.... they both have called this morning to say how wonderful it was to reconnect :-) :-) My job here is done!!
dinner
My friend brought over a bed for the cats and Ms Rasta decided to give it a try
rasta in cat bed
Guy didn't get to come home :-( This morning he called to tell me that he found a HUGE tarantula in the airport hanger last night. He went on and on about how beautiful it was.....
uh.... NO!!!!! He'd better not come home tomorrow with that darn thing - if so there will be one firefighter looking for a new home!!
It's an absolutely GORGEOUS day here and I've got a short MUST DO list - trip to Costco for Rasta Chickens, cook a little, laundry and that's it.

All the Bonaire countdowns!!!!! I LOVE it!!! The excitement permeates cyberspace :-) :-)

OK, went to see my client/hairdresser. She was discombobulated, totally taken over by the moon, (she is severely bipolar, and had burnt her forehead with a straight iron). Ah. She was sitting under a dryer telling me she didn't feel well. I could tell she didn't. She'll call me soon. I did my part by telling her it was the moon and hugging her. She needed some touch.

Home and the "free" water (ie: storm) is up to the spigot thingie, which it can't go further until the new pump/motor/chlorinator is in. Still no call on when that will be. I WILL bug them to death until they get it all finished. Oh yea, they're on speed dial. :-)

Well, it's close to 5:00, so time to cook and pop a cork. :-)

Have a great Saturday night everyone! (and beware that full moon that takes a toll on my daughter and hairdresser and countless clients). If you feel off kilter, go to bed, BEFORE the fight. xx

I know and I'm sorry :-(
I've tried though!!!!
We do not yet have internet in the new house so I have to do every little but of www work on the office comp.
I was making days from 8am till 9 something pm (I even had 1 day I first had to pick up guests at the airport at 3.15am, rushed home to get a few hours of sleep, rushed back to open at 8am did 3 meetings in 3.5 hours (BC1: no help needed from helmet and clipboard ), back at the office picked up the new projects my boss had taken on to work on the accounting, writing and PR, helped some guests in between, no time for lunch (wow, that would make me lose some weight, right?! NOT), ran errands and was glad when I could finally closed the door behind me to call it a day.

Can we REALLY vent here?

Larry broke down the garden gate to the pump, etc. in a fit. It was so uncalled for. It hurt me, then made me mad, then hurt me again.

He broke it because he was mad at having to work on our home. I'm so dissapointed, so hurt, I locked the house doors until the gate is repaired. He broke it, he needs to fix it, and he can't get in until he's fixed what he broke. And dinner's ready.

The pool guy just called, and they'll be here Tues afternoon with the new system.

I'm gonna call it a night because all is not rosy with Larry, and our 15 yr Anniversary is Monday.

Larry is so NOT a handy man. He expects me to do way too much labor and I break my back doing what he says he can not, and if I hire the work out, he gets mad. I'm at the end of my rope. I don't know how to appease him, as he is not pleasing me or me him at this point. We'll get thru it, but I'll take suggestions. Actually, I NEED input.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kiUY7hGs5k

I'm so sorry, I forget how to post youtubes. Post the how to do it again! Anyway, I'm bearing it here. I've been divorced twice. I'm thinking about how a 3rd would go down. And it's not because I don't love him, he's just %$&*(@#. And I don't know how to fix it.

My friends tell me I'm too...forgiving, too nice, too everything. I love Larry, but he's nutz sometimes.

Might have something to do with him paying 15k for his daughter's princess bride wedding. I don't know. I'm just very unhappy with him tonight, and it shouldn't be like this.

Sorry. I just vented for real.

Kathy that's really sad, so close to your anniversary.

It sounds a bit familiar. I wrote all those grieves down in a letter to my partner at that time.

Believe me, it helped!

And don't worry about venting. We girls just need to throw out the garbage some times.

Kathy!!! I'm sorry to read your post!
Marriage is tough; 21 years for Rob and I. We have had our share of disagreements & even some hurtful things have been said over those years but we love each other and said we would till death do us part. It takes a lot, in this day and age, to make it work. We have stresses that our parents did not.

I will be praying for you both; that you can talk and work on things. Stay strong and love and honor each other. You deserve to be happy and so does he.

I'm sorry about the pool issues you're having. Any stress, outside the home, often affects what happens IN the home.

BIG hugs to you both!!!

Kathy, I think it's funny that you locked him out!! My mom did that once to dad and she said he'd be ok, he had the phone and could call 911! He just stood out there banging on the glass doors...it was funny.
Yall will be fine. I like Bette's idea. I've written a letter or two also. It's does help. You get to say what you need to say w/out being interrupted. If he doesn't get it, he can read it again. I think it's time!:-)

Well, there is a hellacious storm comin' in and I hear thunder...so I'm gonna have to shut this down.

Boom, the whole Tarantula thing flew right over me; I missed that!

They are freaky little arachnids!
I must confess, though, that Rob and I had one while we were in college :-) She was a beaut and we had a nice terrarium for her. Spiders do not bother me; it's just the dam frogs that skeer me LOL!

When we graduated so did she; she moved with us to our first home. One night Rob forgot to latch the screen lid and she pushed her way OUT of the aquarium. We found her perusing the hallway; that could have mad a mess for sure!!!! They are very fragile.

OK, so Larry is at Home Depot, getting whatever he needs to fix the gate. I guess I'll let him in.

I'm still not really happy, but I'll survive.

Supper is not ruined, because I'll eat some of it. Sorry to vent here, but I may truly be divorced, soon. We're not makin' each other happy, unless we're u/w. And I have a brain coral growing on my (yes) left knee, the knee that catches all injuries. All I did was sit knee down in the sand while he caught those lobsters. But now I've got a whelp thing. I'm never going to lobster "hunt" ever again.

I am an instant forgiver. Maybe not after tonight.

Werewholf! I told y'all about this moon. I personally, couldnt' hold it off. Not after a *((&&^^% broke my gate. I'm still mad, hurt, but I'll get over it. Let this be a lesson to you. :-)

Rob says she lived about 3 years. She was really pretty with nice coloring :-) I don't think I'm as brave now as I was then though. I just wouldn't want to deal with the cleaning, the buying of crickets, that whole thing again!

We often let her out to go on a walk about. We would even hold her and let her crawl around on our hands/arms. They have some serious fangs though so that's why I'd be a wuss now LOL!

Kathy, take a deep breath and a big gulp of wine! You both need some breathing time and you both need to talk. Talking things through can put everything in perspective. NOT talking is the worst thing EVER in a marriage. Communication is key. We never go to bed mad at this house and I hope you guys can do the same tonight.

Sorry you're having some problems and I truly hope that you and Larry can work things out.

Hi honeys! We're home! We've been home a little over an hour, returning from our Misquamicut, Rhode Island "beach week" with my six sisters and their families. We rented 5 cottages, had all 7 sisters and most of their children and grandchildren there, and 2 of my 3 brothers came down from eastern Connecticut for the day on Sunday..... and it was just wonderful. The only thing that would have made it more perfect would have been if Danielle could have been there. But she has to be on the new job for 6 months before taking leave, so.... there's always next year! We had a beautiful 3 bedroom cottage for us, Josh and Chudney, and the girls, and it was so well appointed with everything we needed! And all of my sisters brought us their extra sheets, towels, coolers, beach chairs, umbrella, beach toys, and beach towels, so that we didn't need to worry about transporting that type of stuff on an airline! So wonderful! :-)

So Kobi - YES! Vacation with the fam! :-) My little grandgirls had a blast spending time with their northern cousins. My son had a blast going night surf fishing with his uncles and cousins. My daughter-in-law had a great time visiting the other cottages and playing "game night" with all the gals! And John and I were very content to sit and guard the sleeping babies!

Kathy - sending you hugs. I can SO relate to "you just got to do it" because John gets so tied up in his on-line gaming that I can't stand the house falling down over our heads, while I know he could just SO focus and "get er done".

I have a weeks worth of threads to read through, and since I left here on the 6th, lots of newspapers and mail to go through..... So I just want to say Hi, Y'all, and I'll aknowledge all of your special celebrations as I catch up on them.

Very special day yesterday, Alexandra Noreen Thomas turned three!!!!! (Which would have been my mother's 83rd BDay. I have no more babies! She's becoming such a big girl, too fast!

Wishing you all a good night........ :-) Big hugs for everyone, and it's always good to be home. :-) :-)

I can't wait... I'm still keeping the faith that the forest service will let Guy come home tonight, although I think it's just going to be me, the kids and the moon :-) As long as I don't moon the moon!!!!

The rice cooker beeped -- Kobi it's GREAT!!! They have some nice recipes I'm going to try. I say GO FOR IT.... $32 well spent.

He's miffed 'cause Bubbles drug in a piece of bark/tree limb/yard crap :-) It's all near where his chair is! LOL!! Heaven forbid he have to use the Oreck or something to clean it up!! :-)

Blame it on the moon. I told him hey, be glad it's not something that resembles a MOLE!!!

On a positive note; Bits appears to be getting her groove back. Hope she's back to 100% tomorrow!

Boom, I'm loving hearing about this new appliance :-) And I too am all about easy, peasy dinners. I don't have a crock pot anymore so this might be the ticket for me.
I am gonna bust a move, this week, to Costco and shop, shop, shop. Wonder can you steam salmon and such in there?! I bet so. I'll find out soon enough I guess :-)

The funny thing about Fay is that it's projected to follow the PROJECTED path of Charlie...... and all of the PROJECTED hurricanes to go through Tampa went elsewhere...... and Charlie turned and screamed his way through Central Florida. I guess it's time we tested our new Cat 3 hurricane sliding doors and front picture window!

Night Kobi - great chatting.

Florida peeps I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that the only Hurricanes you see are over ice in a glass!
