R.A., you are a right coaster, just let yourself get transplanted that's all. Hell girl, tell a true left coaster that you experienced CBGB's and they will tell you how their therapistssss (plural - get it?) helped them when they "had it". To them Bleeker is a character in a muppet movie.

Being New Englanders, we do like lobster. How about if Teddy and I bring a couple of desserts; cheesecake and brownies? The Alden Merril factory outlet store is down the street from where I work, and I'll make brownies. And/Or .. couple of pies, blueberry and triberry.

If it's October 25th, there's a chance the Richters can make it too. We have to be in NH until the 25th (but maybe I can wangle a mid-day departure on the 25th) and we have to be in Natick, MA no later than the morning of the 26th, so if I can divest myself of in-law obligations on the afternoon of the 25th you'll see us there!

The Ashworth by the Sea in Hampton might be a choice to consider too. It has an inside pool and is across the street from the beach. It might be a pretty good location seeing as it will be off season. I used to go there to 'party' at night many many years ago. It has been upgraded since then. I can't speak for current condition but it still is a 'sell out quickly place' in the summer. Remember both this and Stripers are not exactly next door to Louise's place. But not toooooo far. There was one place in the links Jerry gave us that is closer - check them all out vs. the address Jerry supplied by email.

Thanks Jerry, I did not realize by the map that Newburyport was as close as that to you. Downtown Newburyport is a nice place to walk around in too, along the water and among the little shops. And there are charter boats to take you out on water tours or to go fishing on as well.

Oh man...... I just left my Mass, RI, and CT map in the RI cottage....... can't quite place this in my mind! Dad passed away in October in '83, and that's how long it's been since I've been in New England in October for the foilage. Thinking about it.... Southwest doesn't have a direct flight from Orlando to Baaaaaston........... but it does to Providence! That not too far!

Southwest goes direct into Manchester, NH too.

I am not sure which would be better for you.

I talked to our VP of Sales and Marketing who also happens to be the President of the Chamber of Commerce in Newburyport. He tells me that Stripers recently did upgrades to the restaurant and rooms, but he has not yet seen them. He also says that he has seen the rooms at Essex and Garrison and he says they are very nice.

Our VP of Operations stayed at the Essex for a month and a half and also speaks very well of it. He stayed in the building which they gutted so everything was new. He says you give up a little of the charm and character of an older place like the Garrison if you stay in the new building at the Essex. He would recommend either place, Essex or Garrison. They also recommend Rose something or other :-)

I asked our VP of Sales because he recommends where to stay for our suppliers and customers and would not send anybody to an unacceptable place and he is a high end person himself. If anybody wants me to check out the rooms at Stripers I can run over during lunch one day and ask to see them.

It's been kept quiet for a long time. But people have seen a young girl walking from this room. Guest wake up and there keys are in the hallway. All doors was locked.
Suitcases are opened and belongings are tossed about the locked room.

Tom, I'm getting my tickets through AMEX using points, and the Fairfield was on there. I need to check to see if the others are on there as well. Let's coordinated so we are at the same place:-)

Denise, if it's not too much trouble, could you check out the rooms at the striper? I guess the "ambiance" of it being on the water would be nice.

Haunted? I am SO there!

Pamela and I just booked an ocean view room at the Ashford by the Sea.

Denise, when you mentioned it, it rang a bell. Talked to my youngest bro and his lady and they reminded me that this place is where they stay when at Hampton Beach. When I talked with Jerry (enjoy your company Jerr) today, he said it is like 20 minutes from his house. Woo-Hoo, now to work on my contribution to the "Doins". Hmmmmmm thinking Smores with anchovies might be in order. ROTFLMAO (snorting even) Ahem, sorry - goodnite.

To avoid duplication of effort, what places are cheapest to stay in your research folks?? If Tribys and Wes come in the 25th, I can get them at Logan and we drive up and hang out in the Newburyport area and the hit the party Sat. at 12. We will stay same place and explore Sunday and then I guess they head back?? Or we go to the Cape and they can go home Monday....Tribsy??
