Good morning all. I swear to god I will not talk bad about Paris Hilton ever again (well at least today) after this. I almost drove off the road this morning when I heard the video. An instant classic and funny on many levels.

Morning - well I made it to work, heating pad and all. Between that and my ibuprofen it's all good. The lightbulb came on this morning too when I was describing my "tubing" - I was sharing a large tube with someone and I was on the right hand side holding on for dear life and it just so happens that it is my left hand side that hurts so bad - DUH - I've pulled the muscles on that side because I was stretched beyond my capabilities... LOL! I'll be contacting my dear friend the physical therapist for this one - we have to do 10 miles Saturday and 6 on Sunday and I am supposed to do 5 tomorrow. Be free pain - be free.

I'm doing a bit better - I got some sleep last night since could actually turn over (in one direction)w/out pain. I'm hoping to be able to do an aerobics class Saturday cause I've put on a little around the middle.

Isn't life fun!? I went for a CT scan last night due to severe abdominal pain during work yesterday and "change in bowel" habit...it came back normal (except for a mass on my adrenal that the doctor said is not to worry about???)...sometimes working for the doctor is an advantage and other times not because I get to see EXACTLY what everything says!

Hey guys! I just need to vent. I've had a very frustrating week. Of course, not nearly as bad as some people, so I just want to vent. I don't mean to belittle all that everyone else is going through.

So those storms that tore through Illinois on Monday gave us quite the fright. We had tornado sirens going off, trees falling down, and then it happened....our power went out. Wes kicked into high gear (because of course I'm still on the injured list) and went for the generator. Our sump pump runs 3 times an hour when it is NOT raining, so we cannot be without power. The generator won't start - ugh! So he runs down to check the power level on the battery in the Ace in the Hole - we will be ok for a few hours. Power went off around 7:00 pm. By 10:30 pm, the Ace was dead and still no power. Calls to ComEd only revealed that repairs would take DAYS!!! Ugh! I set the alarm on my watch, turn ON the overhead light in the bedroom so that when the power came back on we could check everything. It did not come back on during the night. It was out until late afternoon/early evening Tuesday. We borrowed a generator for a few hours Tuesday morning and pumped out the basement, but that filled back up before the power turned back on. The good news is that the pleco made it without his filter running. That little guy is tough! That's probably why he is still with us at almost 18 years.

The very frustrating part...we lost all of the refrigerated food. The cheese I brought back from Becky's house...gone. And to make it even more aggravating, we had some extra money this week (finally) so we filled the freezer in the basement with meat. I mean filled and we lost it all. And of course, home owners insurance does not cover food loss.

Thanks for letting me vent. I needed it. Now please go back to having fun and I will return to lurking.

Donna, did you have the scan done at where you work? How convenient would that be. I don't want to bore everyone with health stuff, but I get my yearly scans (mamo & bone) done at Macy's! The imaging center rents a few rooms in the back of Macy's. Go in, get it done, go shopping!

Tribs, I've been kind of off an on reading the threads. How are you injured? Hope you're better soon!!! Sorry to hear about the loss of power and food. Are you in a low lying area and need a sump pump to prevent an indoor swimming pool in the basement?

You are not too nosey. I was injured while caring for one of our animals at the shelter. I will be out of commission for a while because the trauma happened to my calf. As for a pool in the basement....yep and no! Ha! We are not real low lying, but there is a natural spring that runs through our property. We have to be in a serious drought for the sump pump not to run.

Larry's all excited and getting his lobster license renewed this afternoon, for our trip to Lauderdale tomorrow. I'm not too excited about having to hold the bag of lobsters on the dive, though! I told him I'll have to hand them back to him before we come up, 'cause I'm not getting mine renewed. At least this time we're taking my BFF and she said she'll cook them for us, as I'm too squeamish! lol

I've been having every medical test done known to woman on me lately...lol...had the "carotid ultrasound" yesterday...hearing it at first was a little freaky then I fell alseep...have the treadmill stress test next week. Get this:

The gal calls to schedule..."what size 'cup' do you wear, A, B, C?"

me: "DDD, E when I can find one"

her: "oh..real or implants"

me: "real baby all me"

her: "hmm...I need to consult the cardiologist to see if we will need to split the test into two days"

me: "uh...ok"

her: "yes, we need to split the test into two days due to your 'cup' size"

WTF????

Peep said "they just want to see them two days in a row"...lol..

Full blood panel tomorrow...I've been working out an hour and half four or five days a week for months, changed my diet (no bread, butter, pasta, all the things I love) and am still GAINING weight...WTF?

ok, rant off...carry on my gal pals! lol!

I couldn't cook them either. Wes wants to lobster dive sometime in the near future. We might try for next year. We have been wanting to go back to the Keys for awhile now, but Bonaire keeps interfering.

Sorry so many ill peeps here..I hurt my back yesterday..spasms...gosh. hate it.

BC1...a two day study due to your size is a picky Cardiologist. They can use a higher dose that way and the images are better quality. Not a bad thing at all...I never do it though. My patients would never show up if they had to come 2 different days.

Tribs..that SUCKS!! I just cannot be any more eloquent than that, LOL. So sorry for all your spoiled things.
Hope your leg heals soon..animal bites heal slowly.

We went out to them via the road to Lagoen and turned off that road and drove north on what appeared to be a dirt road for a while but then it became just dirt. I suggest having someone take you out there the first time. Go in a truck. I know Ann said if you are there when she is, she would take you. You might want to send her a message through the board.
