Donna to doubt about the psycho part. Well I gnawed through the leather straps again and here I am.

I am concerned about Debbie's car computer, those suckers are not cheap. I just hope its a bad connection vs. a bad computer. Talking about cars, I have a car story I have not told and to tie in with Debbie it involves being broke down on the interstate.

This happened a few weeks back. We were driving from NH to Buffalo NY to visit Sue's sick mother in our old Dodge Caravan. We were going through Syracuse NY, we just passed this really nice chopper (Harley motorcycle) when we both saw a huge cloud appear behind the car. It looked like smoke. The car seemed to be operating correctly, engine was running, not over heated. Weird, we drove a bit more all the while worried about the van. A couple more miles and the van started acting up. I pulled over and got out. The back of the van was covered in oil.

We called a AAA and a tow truck. A nice state trooper came by and put up a flare. After a bit the tow truck came. This guy was an absolute saint, first thing he did was pointed out it was not oil but transmission fluid (good thing I'm an engineer). He then drove us to the airport where I got a rental car. Then we dropped the van at a repair shop and we were back on the road. Killing a minivan only cost us two hours of travel time.

Yes the van was dead, they put more fluid in it and it would not shift. It was old so we left it for dead in Syracuse.

Now after reading that you must be thinking that is really bad karma. But I have thought about it alot and my conclusion was it was not our bad karma, it was that chopper rider's bad karma. God really must have had it in for that guy, he made a factory fitting let go in our minivan just so he could spray him with hot transmission fluid.

Morning from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia! Still here, they got my car in the shop, said they will call when they figure out where the short is. Hope it is soon....tick tock. I can't say how wonderful the people here in this area have been in getting me assistance. I just hope I will be waving good-bye shortly and heading south again.

Hey, yesterday, I tried to con the tow truck driver to go to Texas with me! The car was on a flat bed, could have taken it to a shop in Texas, thought it was a great idea too, but he said he would, but his Dad wouldn't let go of the tow truck that long. Too bad, he was a sweet kid and went out of his way to get me to a place to fix my car.

CECIL - I snickered on that one. Poor guy.

Yeah, I too get looks about meeting people over the internet and what's even better is that I get them frequently from Pete, my husband. Why you ask would that be unusual - because I met HIM over the internet. We met on matchmaker.com So when he gives me that look - you want to go where and meet who???? I just say matchmaker baby - matchmaker.

And Cynde - Dick and Grace should be used to your internet friends by now - heck, they got to meet the gang last year at your house.

And HUGE hugs to PS, G, John, Kaarien, Cecil & Sue, Gail's nephew, and everyone else that needs them.

Hopefully it will be a busy day at work today - I have 3 projects going on but don't feel like working through them right now...I will, I will.

Good morning all! Happy Thursday. I was awaken by the door bell at 7:50. The window people are here replacing the front picture window and the 2 sliding doors with cat 3 hurricane glass.

Wishing Debbie luck on getting out of Virginia without too much $$$ going into the car.

I refer to many of you as my friend in 'insert state' that I haven't met yet!

Got some news. Mechanic said it was some wiring problems, actually, they melted on my exhaust, thus all the dang problems, just some new wires, re-wiring and the car should be ready in a half hour or so. WooHoo! I am so glad it was not the computer brain, now that would have been a bummer. So, will be road bound sometime this morning, gotta call them back at 9:30 to see if it is done. If so, they will come pick me up and road trip continues.

WOOHOO Debbie. Thank god you'll be on your way soon. These things can by so frustrated.

Hey - does anyone remember that picture that one our gang took of some pod people in matching shirts coming out of one of the gift shops? Does anyone have that picture? I don't remember who took it but I want it for a point of reference. The new downtown cam is back on line and it is pointing down the street toward Divi instead of up the street toward the traffic circle. The question asked was is it simply pointing in a different direction OR has it been moved.

Ok - I just posted this on the webcam shot - I think the downtown cam is now moved down the street a bit as it is pointed at the end of Bonaire Gift & Wine Shop

The building is now a different color but if you look at the end of the shop with the railing and the other building next to it - that's gotta be it.
