Heat wave going on lots of places, Eileen, glad you are going where there is a pool.

Lots to do today, getting ready for my parents and entire family for the week-end.

CB, I know you asked yesterday, my dad is scheduled for surgery now. The bad thing is, it is 48 hours before I leave for Bonaire.

Off to the kitchen for some baking now.

Thanks for the wishes for my Dad. His surgery isn't till early August, he wanted to have the whole family get together first and then he wants to go on retreat (something he does every year this time of year) first. He is very nervous and so are we. I haven't known anyone who has had a corargated artery in their neck operated on and at 80, he says to me that he has lived too long. I just told him that was nonsense, you just have to get rotor routered more now a days!

Bette, Did you wear a party hat @ work yesterday? We didn't go out for pie last night (we're so boring), but I did think of you and hoped you had a nice birthday dinner/party.

Remember how I told you guys, you were the first (and only) ones to congratulate me?.......Well.....It stayed that way until I brought Marein to bed last night.
We have a story book with on every date of the year a little story. Well, as Marein was looking at the date he said: "Isn't it your birthday today mom?". I said in a rather disappointed voice (just couldn't help myself): "Yes, sweety, it is". He then replied: "O mommy, I'm so sorry! Tomorrow I will tell daddy that he forgot your birthday and now has to buy you AND me a gift".

Okay.......7 years old and already taking advance of the situation

Anyway, when Marein woke up this morning, it took him about 2 minutes to realise what he had promised the night before and said to Jos: "You forgot all about mommy's birthday and now she is sad". Man, leave it up to kids to tell :-. Jos looked at me and said; "O yeah? What date is it today then? and how did Marein remember?".
Well sufficient to say that I had 1 proud and 1 embarrassed man in the house.
Let's wait and see what happens next

I've been busy today, already. Got my new canvas drawn on, ready to paint!!
And I've cleaned the pool filter and all that stuff that goes along w/ taking care of a pool. It's supposed to be sunny this weekend...I hope so, we've had rain everyday for ????, and I need some sunshine!!!

Bette, we all want to be remembered on our special day. Nothing wrong with that. I have come to peace with passing the big 50 and being one year away from the big 60.
I forgot my mom's birthday one year - remembered it the next day. I felt like the biggest jerk, but it only happened once.

Bette..YES!! you didn't know that? I thought we talked about it before.
The 11th to the 18TH! Can't wait to meet you!

I know what it is to forget a birthday. That's why I didn;t want to make a big thing out of it. My mom and I are having the same birthday so we are sure there is always somebody who remembers

WAH I mean NOTE

Hi Bette - these pictures were all taken around the BVI's. We were there from June 27 - July 8. Oh and the plane ones are from St. Martin as that was our layover. We bareboated - we were captain, crew, the whole 9 yards. I even managed to be dive instructor too and I certified Stuart's (aka Boy) girlfriend Courtney. We cooked some fabulous meals too - honestly they were probably the best meals of the trip.

So now we are back home and I am so NOT in the mood to work anymore. Is that a bad thing?

1. My first job was working in an Orange Juice factory, but I got canned. Couldn't concentrate.

2. Then I worked in the woods as a Lumberjack, but just couldn't hack it, so they gave me the axe.

3. After that, I tried being a Tailor, but wasn't suited for it -- mainly because it was a sew-sew job.

4. Next, I tried working in a Muffler Factory, but that was too exhausting.

5. Then, tried being a Chef - figured it would add a little spice to my life, but just didn't have the thyme.

6. Next, I attempted being a Deli Worker, but any way I sliced it...couldn't cut the mustard.

7. My best job was a Musician, but eventually found I wasn't noteworthy.

8. I studied a long time to become a Doctor, but didn't have any patience.

9. Next, was a job in a Shoe Factory. Tried hard but just didn't fit in.

10. I became a Professional Fisherman, but discovered I couldn't live on my net income.

11. Managed to get a good job working for a Pool Maintenance Company, but the work was just too draining.

12. So then I got a job in a Workout Center, but they said I wasn't fit for the job.

13. After many years of trying to find steady work, I finally got a job as a Historian - until I realized there was no future in it.

14. My last job was working in Starbucks, but had to quit because it was always the same old grind.

15. SO, I TRIED Retirement AND FOUND I'M PERFECT FOR THE JOB!

OMG Pegs, your French it amazing.
We were snorkeling the other day and saw 2 of them as a pair they were teasing or provoking a green moray. Those 2 were totally not scared. Cool huh!
