Oh Linda....great idea, Ha Ha..actually the fellow that sits up at the gate offered his UW camera. Apparently it extends about 100 feet and has a screen so you can look from the dock. Cool huh! I may take him up on it.

oh..gotta share this, LOL
A man called home to his wife and said, 'Honey, I have been asked to go fishing up in Canada with my boss & several of his friends ... We'll be gone for a week. This is a good opportunity for me to get that promotion I've been wanting, so could you please pack enough clothes for a week and set out my rod and fishing box, we're leaving from the office & I will swing by the house to pick my things up' ' Oh! and please pack my new blue silk pajamas. ' The wife thinks this sounds a bit fishy but being the good wife she is, did exactly what her husband asked. The following Weekend he came home a little tired but otherwise looking good. The wife welcomed him home and asked if he caught many fish? He said, 'Yes! Lots of Salmon, some Bluegill, and a few Swordfish. But why didn't you pack my new blue silk pajamas like I asked you to do?' You'll love the answer... The wife replied, 'I did! They're in your fishing box' Never Lie To A Woman...!!!

It was our second to last night and the place was pretty empty. Actually the sailboat wasn't ours - we rode over in the dinghy from the next harbour over. It was an interesting ride back to say the least....

Hey Lind a- funny you should mention that - I have been working on that today a bit. I have the story for our local paper ready I just need to go over some of the facts with Pete. I have raised 25% of my personal goal which, depending upon how it goes when I go into major fundraising mode I may increase to double what I am currently shooring for. But I feel good so far. Training is starting up again and that's good too. Stephanie has decided to come down to Atlanta to walk with us and my friend Kim who did this with me back in 2002 is going to do it again too. We have a party of 4 ;-) but it's a party none the less.

I love that chair that you did - how did you wind up auctioning that off? It's a GREAT chair.

Well there were a series of things. First, as soon as we all got in the dinghy at it was away from shore the motor cut out and wouldn't start right away. We are in the DARK - and I mean pretty dag gum dark - and are starting to drift. Finally the engine starts again. We have a light that comes with the kit BUT it's not very bright so we had brought our headlamps (BTW - Thanks BOOM - these we fantastic). So after about 3 minutes the engine hits something and cuts out again - OMG. Fortunately it starts but now remember we have to go out of one harbour, around some rocky shoreline that we can't really see and then into the harbor that we are in. So we are trying to keep the shoreline in check, look for the channel markers and not get hit by anyone or anything else. Needless to say we were never so happy as to when we DID finally get in the boat because, well, we had been using the headlights to read all week and the batteries were a bit low. But we made it back safely and all did the happy dance with that maneuver.

Mara, The young lady standing next to me, Beth, was gracious enough to let me hold my little auction at her little house. I invited the ladies from work and anyone they wanted to bring along. It was very crowed in that tiny house with all the auction items, and food for the crowd. I think I raised close to $900 that night - and had fun doing it. Some of the ladies got stuff for a song!

OK - it's time to do 15 more minutes of work and then skeedaddle.

I'll try to put together a BVI trip report with some more pictures. It was a fun trip though but next year it's a catamaran instead of a monohull.

Cool - I might have to try that out because I have been picking stuff up for a few months now and that would go a long way to that minimum $2,200 goal and toward the hopeful $5,000 goal.

Ok - I'm outta here for now. Hugs ya'll

Mara, that picture looks familiar. Did you go to Foxy's?? I wonder if our t-shirts were still up on the ceiling from a couple years ago.

Scary on the dingy right...good thing you had extra flashlights! I know those reefs can be tricky...and at night...ugh!

Jerry, I had two hour old scrambled eggs on the boat on the way back yesterday.

Note to self: NEVER eat two hour old eggs on really rough seas...I didn't lose them, but, man they wanted loose!

Mara, you must have been doing a lot of reading :-) I'm glad the headlamps came in handy!
When we were in Bonaire last year we met a couple who own a catamaran which they keep in the BVI and charter out. Very nice boat (we had a few lunches and happy hours aboard) and really nice couple. I've kept in touch with them if you'd like to find out more.

Can't wait for more pictures :-)

My group (the Lipstickers) did a huge yard sale to raise funds for our walk in 1999. It was funny because I think we had as many people dropping stuff off to donate towards the sale as there were people buying --- worked out well that way :-) :-) Back then you only had to raise $1700.

Wish I could be in Atlanta with signs and candy to hand out!!!!

Cynde, Bill's boat has 4 bedrooms/2 bathrooms, a killer kitchen/living room and a lot of deck space. Very comfortable. I'll have to see if I have any pictures.
He uses it for 2 months out of the year and charters it the rest of the time.

I have an old slipper I'll give up to auction off... anyone???

RA, bail money cookie jar set aside. Call me if you need to "share your loving stories and get them off of your chest..." lol!

PS, please do not show me pics of eggs in a pan...lol! I NEVER get sea sick, but man, those old eggs yesterday did the trick. It was REALLY windy and the seas were heavy coming home, when we got to the harbor, the harbor patrol was at the mouth of the harbor, we were trying to figure out what they were doing. After we pulled into the slip, a couple minutes later I heard a boat, and went to look in case they needed help. It was the HP checking to see if we made it in OK...I waved like "hi, yes, we are fine" lol!

OK, I have to brag a little bit. Just got this from Michael, Dylon was on the HONOR ROLL in tech school! WTF? This is a kid who barely graduated from HS, and we had a heck of a time getting him to even GET to class...ugh..and the fact that when he came to live with us his sophmore year, he had nothing but Fs the previous 2 years. He was even tutoring other students...go figure. I'm so proud of him!
