Thanks Linda - now I'm going to have to try this one at home. I'm thinking this could be lots of fun.

Happy Monday. Still haven't recovered work wise and unpacking wise from our most recent trip and the exam (which I am STILL waiting to hear if I passed or not...) so I am only able to check in from time to time.

Hugs to those who need them, smiles for those that can use them and a collective sigh when we realize that July is almost half over - AARGH!

When I was a kid I overheard a conversation the totally threw me.

While I was old enough to understand where babies come I was at a loss when I heard the comment

She's having a cow!!!!

Imagine the confusion.

I took my kids diving!! And G went into work late so he could go too!! FL springs weren't charging yesterday, so it didn't cost us anything!!!:-)

I didn't paint, I cleaned dive gear w/ Kayla. It goes so much faster w/ 2 people doing it. Now to put it all away...4 sets of gear! Our back porch looks like a dive shop!

Morning all!

Linda, nice, I'm going to print it out and show it to my boss when I'm done...lol...

Brad, your ac went out???OMG...that is NOT good considering you live in he))...

PS, glad you got to dive.

We had an unbelievably relaxing weekend. Man, just what the doctor ordered. Didn't go diving cause:

1. Michael doesn't know where his BC is apperantly...lol...
2. His back is not ready for cold water weight.

We did go snorkeling though, saw lots of garapoopies (our word for garibaldi), I found an octopus we watched for quite a while, nice big kelp bass...it was fun.

I did try to do the matt dance underwater, but Michael doesn't do so well with my camera...this is what he got:
you can see I had my arms and legs in the right pose

We got the LAST mooring in Fourth of July Cove, next to Isthmus, never moored there before and it is small, and quiet. The Fourth of July Yacht Club is there, so it was great people watching. We do know another tug owner that are members and they happened to be there as well so we got to chat.
Fourth of July Cove

Michael picked me up in Avalon Friday night, and as we headed to the other end of the island where our mooring was, we had a FABULOUS sunset!

BC, thank you! We do have a second AC for our upstairs, so we cranked it down and slept up here Friday (all there is upstairs is a guest bedroom and bath and my office/loft). We then went to my folks house Saturday night. We got a repairman out on Sunday. It looks and sounds like a nice trip to Catalina!

Nice photos and mini trip report, BC. Do you ever see wolf eels in your area? They are cold water creatures aren't they?
Great fin shot - one foot into the dance. :-)

Brad, thank goodness you had an alternative!

Linda, yes we do. I've never seen them, but know divers who have.

On the matt dance, so funny, michael was like 'what do i do'...then he's like, "i have no idea what i got"...lol...MEN!

I'm going to download the rest of the pics and put them on FB this week hopefully when i get a chance.

LOL, Ok linda...the garapoopies in Fourth of July Cove were the largest I've ever seen, at least a foot long and thick. The kelp there is really thick, so they have good hiding places from the sea lions and seals...not a great shot, but this guy was at least a foot long, and had a huge girth.

They are a very pretty fish. I see them in the dive mags and thought they were damsil sized fish.

Linda, they are in the damsil family, the juvies are the size of other damsil fish like on Bon. Normally they are about 8 or 9 inches long, but these guys were huge at a foot.

Terry keeps watching stuff on TV like (I made up these names) Worlds Dumbest Stunts and Wild stuff caught on video. As I was walking thru the TV room I caught a glimpse of some diver trying desperately to get away from a goliath grouper. The grouper was not the biggest I've seen, but it was as long as the diver. The guy was elbow deep in it's mouth! Can't wait to see that one.

Morning!!
Cynde :-) :-):-):-):-):-):-) GREAT pics! I love Garibaldis - they are like little puppy dogs out at Catalina's dive park since they're protected.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MPT!!!!!
Just pretend you have the day off!
Thank you for spending the day with us :-)

Guy had an awesome night last night... 3 teenagers were out in the back country and got into a very bad accident. Air Support flew out 2 of them using NiteVisionGoggles. One boy died in the OR but they got him back - would not have been possible if he had been transported by ground. The third boy was transported by ground - along with a couple of the air personnel they had to leave behind in order to make room for 2 patients. It was Guy's first rescue at nite using NVG. Some family out there has much to be thankful for :-)

My NEW dive computer flooded and died. that stunk! 41 ft, 1ft viz(maybe), 53 degrees. no computer. geez...they are sending me a new one...
so we messed around all weekend a just went diving, stayed above the 'cline. Found some fossils, petrified wood and some geodes. It was fun. Saw some HUGE fish. why can't we catch those? one real nice carp swam by my buddy and let him run his hand along his body. wild.
The viz at 25ft was about 20 or so, it was pretty good.

So Krispi - no glasses :-( Sounds like you had a fun time though - good on ya'

I'll pass that on Cecil. Guy brought home a pair of NV goggles when they were first learning how to use them so I got to look through them... it is so freaky and you lose all peripheral vision. I can't imagine flying or directing a rescue with them on. The pilot was in Desert Storm so it was old school for him :-)

Jerry, I've got a really b#####'n was of old bubble gum -- how much will you give me for that? I promise to donate the profit :-)

Hi Everyone! Late getting here. Been crazy busy this morning, see it is now afternoon already! Taking my car in for a new rim/tire, seems that I went over a pothole at nite a while back, bent the rim and cause of the type of wheels I got for my car, big bucks for a new rim/tire, it's a sporty type car, but rim/tire is in, going to have it put on the car in a half hour or so. Took me forever to realize that bent rims, even if just a little bent will make your car wheels wobble at higher speeds, very annoying.

Boom, Kudos to Guy!!! Loved to hear good things happening like that. :-)

Happy Birthday, Brad! :-)

Boat Chick, really nice pics, sounds like you had a really nice week-end. :-)
