Hi, guys....I'm just home for a bit and wanted to check in.

I've been with my mother for most of the last three weeks...she had a small stroke, and it's been a blur sorting things out..I'm learning lots of new big words...

I guess we're lucky, really; Mom lost a little strength and coordination on her right side, but no speech or thought impairment. When I first got there, she simply couldn't walk, couldn't balance, but she's so determined to get better that her gait is improving every day. We got started with physical therapy, and they seem to think that she will be able to get back to walking without aid eventually. I just never thought a little old lady could be so tough.

Meanwhile, it's been endless trips to specialists, days retrofitting her house to prevent falls, hours of sitting in waiting rooms for this and that test....

Yesterday my sister drove up to spell me, so I'm home trying to prop my business up a bit and put stuff in order. Eric is just splendid..."You just do what you need to, honey; I'll look after things at home."...I'm very glad to see him.

Anyway, that's the news from here....everybody please accept my good thoughts and congratulations where they apply to you...theuy're still there for the taking, even if I'm a little absent(I didn't mean that as a funny, but I think I made one.).

Awwww, Barbara, you and your Mom have been in my thoughts! I'm thankful that she's making improvements; she sounds like a very strong woman! I will be praying that she continues to stay strong and make a full recovery.

I know she's glad you are there with/for her.

Thanks, Kobi. I should have added a thanks to all of my BT Friends for their good thoughts(even prayers!)...I've never been on the receiving end of a BT "good thoughts" thread before, and I was very touched by it...thanks, my friends.

CB, sorry to hear about your Mom, I'm just catching up between long work weeks. You are being a most amazing daughter and a blessing to your Mom. Great work on the props Eric!

RosAnne thank you for being our liason. I guess (with this event and our dear friend Kaarien) we're learning the importance of having a BT buddy who has all of your phone numbers in order to keep check on us!!!

ps (not pegisue) - Guy was just regaling Eric's shark bite story at dinner with the fire crew tonight. One of the pilots started the whole thing by saying that he had a friend who had been struck by lightening twice. Needless to say no one could top our Eric's 9-lives stories

CB, rosanne has been keeping me posted on your mom. I am glad she's recovering and has fire under her boots to get better. You are the best daughter in the world, and I'm sure she is so thankful you love her so much. I am sure you are exhausted at this point, and probably feel like you are in the movie groundhog day...but it sounds like there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Give Eric a hug too, and thank him for being such a gem, and there for you.
