Please note, Any bid placed after 6:00PM will not make it. 6:01 is after closing.

JERRY, 6:00 is closing time, so any bids at that time are not valid either, since closing time is that time. I am very confused with that. Really, a bid cannot be made AT closing time, that doesn't make sense to me at all.

Congrats to all winners!!! I was just out bid, but that's okay. I'll be back to bid if there is another auction next year.

Debbie, it's all good :-)
Sorry you're confused though. I'm not as you have to think of it like the stock market. In this case the bell rang at 6:00 est; the gavel fell to close the auctions. It's very much like eBay as you mentioned in another thread. A bid posted at 6:01 can't count per the rules that were set in place to be fair to us all.

PS, beat me out as I was with family all day today and not home in time. I'm bummed but will make a donation instead of winning an item!

I don't think you all understand what I am saying. I know the 6:01 bid didn't count, but the 6:00 bid should not count either as that is the closing bell time. Accepting ANY bids at 6:00 and during that minute, ACTUALLY makes the closing bell 6:01, not 6pm as stated in the rules Freddie posted. Hope I am making that clear. That's all I am saying, yup been to a lot of auctions and when the time stated hits, no bids are taken at that time. Just right up to that time. That is what is SO confusing to me. I know, I am a stickler for the principle of what is said in the rules and I took it literally as in all other auctions are done in regards to the closing bell. Yes, I saw the other thread Jerry posted on after it was over and I just wanted to agree to disagree with it. It has no effect on me, but to be FAIR to all bidders, the rules should state it much clearer for next year's auction as anywhere else, the bid would not be legal if taken at 6pm when it is officially over as rules state. Not here to cause a stink, but just pointing out that it does not make sense to have a closing bell time and take bids at the same time as a closing bell time. Never heard of it before anywhere, but there is always a first time and this was it for me to see it happen. Enough said from me.

Jerry and Freddie, you have done a marvelous job with the auction, but I agree to disagree with that closing bid time and accepting bids at that time. I mean no hard feelings at all, just doesn't make sense at all to me.

I bid $18.00

Thank you all, the people that donated, the bidders, and Freddie, you are special dear lady.

When I got sick, Freddie stepped up to the plate and made this auction happen. I was in the hospital as Freddie was formating this auction. This was a boat load of work. And it payed off. Stand by for BT auction part 2.

quick question regarding;
"2. winners are responsible for all shipping and handling unless otherwise stated. "

How do I know how much to pay for the shipping on the item I won my bid on?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of page Link to this message  By Becky H - majorly into PBD (Extraordinary BonaireTalker - Post #1777) on Sunday, July 13, 2008 - 9:51 am:     Edit PostPrint Post

I'm assuming we pay to BT's paypal account?

As far as shipping... I'm assuming we pay the person shipping the item directly? And likely we won't know how much that is until the item in question gets shipped?

Am I on base here? (I know I'm usually out in left field, LOL :-)) I also know I'm likely committing assumicide with all my assuming:-)pbbttt

I think that is a great idea Becky unless after you contact that person they waive the shipping and handling charge.......Or a guesstimate is always allowed.. $8 flat shipping rate is for the post office.. perhaps others can chime in here..

Hi, everyone! I have "won" multiple items....may I pay BT via pay pal in one, single transaction or should I pay for ech one individually via pay pal to BT?

Same question as Becky on the S & H, too....multiple items with different donors.

This was great! Can't wait for the next one. I'll have to look around for something nice to donate to the Second BT Auction. Lots of fun!! Carole

Generouos Donators,Please contact the person that won the item for shipping and handling costs as soon as they make the Paid Auction Item thread, Winners you may pay for multiple items with one payment

next time it may be a good idea to include shipping and handling in with the auction bid...any ideas on this thought are welcome..

In this day of high shipping costs that could be expensive. Not for my item this go round- just thinking of the larger items (ie Becky's stained glass) and the international items.

I don't think it's that cumbersome to have the winners contact the donator (or vice versa). Besides it opens a chance for a personal Thank You and Hello!

PS, wish I could help..... my PayPal accounts are all associated with bank accounts rather than credit cards. It's just like writing a check. You might want to try that??
I use it a lot for work and personal and a lot of my customers pay that way....
