Hi all, I received a call this morning from a friend that is traveling to Aruba next month. She and her son are newly certified and are looking for a good dive center to hook up with. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Tom, we were in Aruba a few years ago and used Red Sail. Although the diving in Aruba is not that great, there are some cool things to see. They have wrecked airplanes and such. The freighter Antilla is pretty cool. We also dove the California, which was the ship that did not answer the Titanic's distress call. That was on the windward side, and it was very rough getting there. Don't recommend that for beginners.

Tom, I've worked in Aruba as a concierge at a high end boutique hotel for 4 years and we had the best experiences with Fly'n Dive.

They are a smaller dive centre but are therefore able to give a much more personal touch. If I had guests who were not so experienced I only trusted Fly'n Dive with them. Aruba has a couple of nice and interesting dive sites but most of them are boat-dives. Wrecks like the Antilla, the Jane C or the airplane the YS11 are pretty cool. Along the south-western coast are a few good reefs like, Hole in the Wall, Mangel Halto outside reef and Baby Beach. I wish them lots of fun and excitement.

I loved Baby Beach!! Just snorkeled there. Pre-diving days.
