We had a great weekend in San Francisco, watched the fireworks through the fog, which if you have never seen is very cool, it looks ghostly! Ate delicious food, prowled around Chinatown and Little Italy too.

The heat is supposed to return to record highs this week which is not a good thing, we had a fire 5 miles away last night but they got it quickly and put it out. I hope everyone else is safe and enjoying the weekend!

I haven't heard from Patrick today. I am hoping he is enjoying every moment of his first day.

We did a nice dive this AM at Angel City (saw a great big crab, double reef dive, and have now started to clean up and cook a couple things for tonight. And suddenly I realize I have no vegetable oil to make the brownies. We are heading down to the art thing in town to see Jake and Linda and then picking up a few last minute things, including vegetable oil now :-)

Also setting up the Caribbean fish dvd on the dvd player to have running during the party, for atmosphere :-)

Not much on the schedule for me today -- boil chickens for Rasta's food, laundry, laundry, laundry and then a little bookkeeping later on.

Looking forward to seeing my brother on my favorite island and then the BT MiniMeet!!!

We're getting really lucky here with very light winds and great air support. They used the DC10 all day yesterday which really put a dent in the fires -- BUT I'm sure what really did it was my hubby's superior work He and his pilot did 90 water drops yesterday from the helicopter!!! The other copter only did 50. When he got home last night (9pm) he was telling me about the day. I said - it's not a competition. OH yes it is!!!! He's back at his station today and tonight and he said they are releasing some of the crews back to northern cali so that's a good sign. We're expecting record heat again this week but monsoonal moisture --- very very odd weather.

Wow, you all are busy today! Just getting moving. my thighs are sooooo sore i can barely walk from my long trip on my sea doo on Friday. I haven't been on it since i broke my back, and went out for about an hour and a half by myself...it was HEAVEn...but i'm paying for it now....omg....

So I needed to drop some things off to Guy at the fire station - I went to Costco and got 3 pizzas and 2 caesar salads for them They're so dang cute!!!!

I've got lots of chickens to boil up for ms Rasta and enough MEAT for us for the freezer. I'm going to throw a brisket in the crock pot.

Shhhhhhh.... she's busy scraping the burnt part off the brownies.... no one will know

I'm making another pork loin...hopefully NOT for Calypso. It smells SO good!! I put garlic, rosemary, thyme & taragon all over the outside of it and put it in the oven at 450, then turned it down to 325...MMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm MMmmmmmmm! It's gonna be so good!!!

Just bragging about my culinary skills! Before my dog eats it...

Wow! What a day we had! I checked the paper around 9:25, and saw that Best Buy was advertizing the Wii, threw on clothes, brushed my teeth, no makeup, and dashed over. Pulled into the parking lot at 9:45, and over 50 people were already in line. I started to pull back out but then thought I'd come that far, let's go see how many they have/had..... It was a very civil and organized line. The guys in the blue shirts were handing out 48 Wii fliers with numbers on them. I got #36 out of 48. This was my son's belated B-day/Father's Day gift from his wife, Dad, and me! Once the store opened at 10, we all headed over to the gaming section when the blue shirts took the flyer, and handed everyone a Wii. I selected another item, went past the aisle, and they were gone at 10:10! Whew!

And we all played that dang game all afternoon, stopping only to eat MY pork tenderloin (PS), that I roasted in a baking bag. Very tender!

We played all of the basic games, and started in on the Wii Play games that I also picked up, and had a ball. I now know why every family with young kids should have one! Alex is 2, almost 3, and she could "bowl" by herself. She was so cute. Hit A with Thumper, hold down B with pointer, and throw the ball! She's our athletically gifted one! (She can already cast a kiddie fishing pole in the pool!) The tennis, bowling, and golf were our favs. We only had the one numchuck, so Josh did the boxing several times alone, but they agreed that it would be one of their favs as a couple, so they can buy the extra controller! My bicept is sore from bowling!

Everyone was off the computers, in the family room, laughing at everyone else's learning curve. I may need to scope the Sunday paper for a system for my house! What a blast!

Kathy, my grandmother Lovina used to do that too. She would invite us for dinner then hand us her teeth as we were sitting down to eat. I think she ate a lot of leftovers.
