That's what I'm waiting for the weekend. When you all go to bed on Saturday and wake up on Sunday I'll be in Bonaire......................

Patrick is so excited and I am getting depressed. Wes leaves Bonaire tomorrow and I leave on Monday. PBD should not set in while one is still on the island.

Good morning all. Tribs, as long as you've been on Bonaire, PBD could be terminal. I highly recommend chemical prophylaxis, a few cases of Brights in your luggage should cover it.

That is TOTALLY not fair!!!! It's just not a "Bonaire Vacation" unless SJ is involved!!! I forgot that you just go straight there...So, while we're all snug in out beds you'll be eating peanuts and drinking champagne!! Not right I tell you!!!!

Also, I have a wireless router that I want to send to you!! I tried to hook it up yesterday, it didn't work. So, I tried to get Kayla to do it last nite. Now I know why it has sat in her closet for a year and a half!!! She tried to hook it up after we got it & had the same problem as ME!! It doesn't work!! After reading what your occupation is, I truly believe that you could make it work!! Or I could just give you my neighbor's address and you could send them a little note, using all of your wise words, and have them upgrade their wireless...it's just not working for me lately!!!!

For those of us NOT traveling to Bon this weekend, what kind of holiday plans do you have?

Right now I'm washing that gray right out of my hair! Waiting for the timer to go off to go wash it out.

I'm also going to steam clean the carpet in the family room. It's way overdue.

Then some grocery shopping for tomorrow!

John got up happy this morning - not only is it his Friday, but he's on vacation for the next 2 weeks. WhooooHooooo!

Sigggghhhhhhhhhh I won't be traveling to Bonaire this weekend. OH WAIT, I'm already here :-) Last night we came 'home' from a night snorkel and found company waiting at the door. Actually company waiting on the door. A BIG crab was hanging onto the screen of the door and as we tried to open the door with out disturbing him, he moved onto the window screen. He climbed up about 3/4 of the window height and he hung around, keeping us company for a few hours. Last Teddy looked he had fallen and was hanging on to one of the window security bars by two big claws. Teddy rescued him and put him on the ground and he ran like you know what, sideways of course. I think he fell off the screen after a few too many Polars. :-)

We are getting read to repeat a dive we did yesterday. I want to get a picture of the frog fish today that we saw there yesterday with out a camera. Think we'll find him again? Hope so - I know he was at 41' on a big orange sponge.

Hey Linda...I am getting together with my SCUBA Club and Having a 4th bash! BBQ, POOL,fireworks, friends..should be fun..maybe Timmmmmy will join us, if I can twist his arm! (hint, hint)

Then Sat we are going to dive at a quarry in Athens, TN. They have paddle fish, never been there. check it out...

That Denise!! She has a way of rubbing it in, doesn't she?? It wouldn't be so bad, but I know exactly where she's at, what chair she is sitting in, what is around her...THAT makes it BAD!!!! I'm supposed to be sitting there next week!!!! That is SO my spot, well, unless Debbie's there, then it's her spot and I sit at the table surrounded by puzzle pieces...OH, it's feelin' like BAD PBD!!!

Kristi, my sister lives in Athens, TN. I'll shoot her the link you posted and maybe she'll show up. Marsha doesn't dive, but loves being outdoors.
It's our 13th wedding anniversary on the 4th. Terry suggested that we hop in the car and drive up to Atlanta (8+ hrs) go to the aquarium to see the whale shark and hop back in the car and drive home. I don't think so. If we go I want to spend the night in a hotel, not behind the wheel of a car. Instead we are going to a Rays ball game Saturday or Sunday. They are #1 at the moment. Since day one they were at the bottom of the barrel. Maybe I can talk Terry into a dive here in the Gulf.

PS .. I noticed you 'there in spirit' as soon as we walked in the door. Beautiful trigger :-) We do wish you were here to. Really gotta go now - fishies are calling.

Oh, and of course I do not mean to rub it in - I am sharing :-)

Patrick, hope your travels to Bonaire go well. I left Tampa yesterday and was hoping to be in the water in Bonaire by now but I'm not there yet. Well, I broke two of my rules of air travel on this trip and it ended up costing me. I did not discuss the actual flight details with my travel agent at the time I made reservations. I was busy with work and just told her to book flights, room and diving for the dates I requested. She did. Later when I looked at my itinerary I noticed that she had booked me through Miami to San Juan instead of a direct flight from Tampa to San Juan. One of my rules of travel is to always fly the most direct route with the fewest transfers to reduce the chance of missed flights and lost luggage. I thought about asking her to change the flights but it was a few weeks later when I looked closely at the papers and I decided to just leave it and hope for the best. Another rule of travel I try to adhere to is never fly through a southeast hub in the afternoon in the summer. Too much chance of being delayed by thunderstorms and missing your connecting flight. Are you starting to see where this is going? Got stuck on the tarmac for nearly 3 hours in Miami today due to a thunderstorm and missed the only flight from San Juan to Bonaire. Now Wally and I are stuck in Puerto Rico for 23 hours until the flight tomorrow night. We will miss a day of diving and have to pay for hotels in San Juan and Bonaire tonight. Oh well, that is the part of travel today. Not much you can do about it (except kick yourself for not taking the direct flight to San Juan).

Linda I do not think you should be praising the Devil Rays as Red Sox fans are not very happy with them right now. I can't believe then won last night, I go to bed with a three run lead (for Boston) only to find out this morning the rays came back and won.

OH PS, if that router does not work just throw it away. They are wicked cheap and not worth hassling with, just get a new one for $50.

Mike, It makes a good story retelling a few months later. It just adds to the flavor of the trip. When we got bumped in San Juan due to weight - and our luggage went to Bon - we decided to make the best of it and enjoy the little Old San Juan and the fort. (Two days in the same clothes!) AA did give us a little emergency kit with toiletries.... and ever since that trip I bought and always take my carryon.

Gail, I've been to San Juan many times so I am just kicking back and relaxing. Even a bad day in the Caribbean is better than a day at work. I did follow one of my travel rules. I always carry on a bag with my computer, shaving kit and one day's worth of clothes just in case. And when I am on a dive trip, I carry all my underwater video equipment as well. That always makes for interesting trips through security.

Dr. Doo, what part of SJ are you staying in? If it's in Isla Verde, go to the Metropole (right next to the cock fight place) and have some good argentinian beef and black bean and rice soup for me....YUMMOO! That's the first place we go once we are there If you're in OSJ, go to El Convente and eat some tapas and watch the bats in the trees

Since Michael won't do the redeye anymore, we take two days to get to bon from the left coast, overnight in SJ, then on to Bon the next day...it's weird, but feels like I'm going home in a way and is comforting.

However, next trip, we are going Delta, still takes 2 days to get there, but no long day in SJ and we get to bon at 3 in the afternoon, and leave at 3 coming home....YES!

Tribs, I hear ya on the PBD. I get depressed as time is closing on our trips, I can't imagine how it must feel after being there for so long.

ur travel agent should know better. i would never go through san juan again. they did the same thing to us twice about weight and having a ticket. luckily we made our sat flts but both times got in around 10:30pm. their layovers are extremely long.
