Morning Gang! Glad it is Friday here too. Got a big day tomorrow taking down TREES in my son's backyard to make a backyard for him. Last year, we took down half of the back yard, now it is time for the other half. I am not looking forward to it, as last time I got chiggers working back there. He did spray a few days ago and I am going in covered from head to toe with deet and whatever else I can find to keep those critters off me. His yard will look nice when done, still have to grind tree stumps, at least 50 of them after, put topsoil on, level it after done. Now, he is talking about a sprinkler system too...oh no, more digging with a trench digger for the piping, at this rate, maybe by next fall, he will have a beauty of a yard and then be chigger free too. My granddaughter needs a safe place to play. She's only 3 months right now, so should be ready by the time she can enjoy a swingset, just have to have room to put it.

Well folks, like Kobi said the magic sticker remover is "Goo Gone" and it worked pretty well. Unfortunately after removing the remnants of the stickers, damage to the face in the emblem and some of the sign's lettering was apparent, also removing the stickers revealed that the sign had been hit by hard objects at least twice damaging the paint.

One nice thing about living in this state is the availability of some of our local elected officials, one of them is Vermont State Senator Richard Mazza who maintains an open door policy with all of his constituents. This morning I stopped by and talked to him, explaining what had happened and he is on it. One nice thing about the Senator is, when he says something will get done - it gets done

Oh, got share something with all of you. Yesterday, I was walking through the garage and I could hear baby birds chirping, yup, in my garage, drove me nuts, couldn't find them, thought they were coming from the air vent channels as that is where the sound was coming from, got my son to even help try to find them. Well, all day goes by, I can't find them, I am worried that they will die if I can't get them out thinking they are trapped. Hubby comes home from work, I tell him the story, he hears it too, starts looking and then he finds the nest. It was actually in the trash can by the sound I heard with trash on top of them! It seems the night before, he got the canoe out for him and Brandon to go fishing and was powerwashing it and there was some trigs inside, he just scooped it out thinking it was just that and threw it in the trash! Well, it was actually a nest with 4 little baby birds and they were not too happy. I put gloves on and put the nest back in the area where the canoe was, but not sure they will make it now.. I hope mommy bird takes them back. Will have to check this morning to see how they are. The chicks were big enough to hop about all over the place when I put them back.

Debbie, I hope the mother bird takes them back. Last year Pam moved a nest out of necessity and the Mother Robin was cool with it.

Debbie, Ugh on the chiggers. They are sneaky little buggers. I believe the mommy bird will take the babies back. You had gloves on and the nest is close to where it was. If not I hope Tribs will take them in.
Tom - great job with the sign. Can't wait to see Pam's new/old bike.

Debbie, I had a nest in a closet on my porch, I moved it twice (had to, long story) each time I put it back where it was but I still handeled it (no gloves) and then even handled the babies 2 different times, (they fell) Mom and Dad came back both times!

The voices are starting up again and I feel like a short stay at THE HOME might be in order soon. Chuck wants to try to make an ashtray out of Jell-O??? He's becoming so artsy-fartsy. I'm sticking with stringing beads.
I'm late for work, and I don't care. I have goons to run the place. I have to pick up some food items that I ordered after work, having a special guest coming for diner tomorrow night, and staying with us till Sunday. I'm so pumped. I hope she likes SPAM and pigs feet? OK, I should go shave, nah, I'll shave another time.

Brad, Senator Mazza WILL Git-Er-Done. He is one of, if not the most senior Senators in our state. Up here-ah in tha Republic of Vahmont, elected officials that don't deliver on their promises don't stay in office for long. This man has been a Senator since 1984 because, he says what he'll do and does what he says. I am confident the sign will be fixed - good as new

Folks, about 21 years ago the (then) Dean of Champlain College ran into Pam and I and after he and I were introduced, he started telling me tales of a pretty young student that used to get a little crazy and ride her Moped all over the Campuses of C.C. and University of Vermont ON THE SIDEWALKS even chasing other students with it. All the while he was regaling me with this tale, Pam was laughing her *** off. I on the other hand was so impressed I married that crazy chick.

Well, time went on, she mellowed (DAMNED) and her Moped was put in storage. This last spring, Pam and I were talking with Donny, who has been with the family for around 30 years when she said that if the Moped could be made road worthy again, she would ride it. Well, Donny and another employee named Dana (24 years) pulled her Moped out of storage and completely stripped it down to the frame, then disassembled ever component. I was able to find a complete service manual for it on-line and the guys have been "playing" with it in their spare time.

Yesterday afternoon, Pam was gone when Donny came riding in through the front door on that ..... thing. I took this pic of Donny a few minutes ago:

Tom, I think I may have told you this before. My wife's uncle (Ed Corcoran) used to be the Commisioner of the Vermont State Police for many years. He is also a native Vermonter, but spent many years in the Army. We used to frequent their house quite a bit in the early 70's up to about 78, especially in winter. I came very close to becoming a VT State Trooper around 73. I spoke French pretty fluently and they needed French speaking troopers for the NE Kingdom. At the last minute I bailed. I had enough of uniforms, weapons, and all that other stuff by then.
