I coach girls softball at school. Two weeks ago, I was teaching my two catchers how to block the plate. A girl slid into me and my knee was locked. I am going to get an MRI today. It has been pretty bad. Getting old ain't for sissies.

I actually set an alarm today! And got up early! I'm working Vacation Bible School this week. I'll be in the nursery, taking care of the wee ones that aren't old enough to participate, but who's mom's are also volunteering. So I get to play with babies and toddlers all morning long! My two little kiddles will be there too, and my DIL is also taking one of the age groups.... We'll have fun! I think we have close to 100 kids already registered! Gotta get my butt in gear - need to be there at 8:30!

Have a good Monday wherever it takes you!

Don't think I could do the shark thing.. We had a chance to go to the Cove on Paradise Island for a couple of days and it all sounded great until Kelly started talking about diving with Stuart Cove to see sharks.. Sounded great at first but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I have no desire to do that.. So instead I talked her out of it and into a week on Bonaire. Whew!!. The rest is history.

Man I would do it (shark dive) in a heartbeat, and have in Tahiti. It's not a big deal, you go in overweighted and lay on the bottom, all appendages in. Then they open the fish bucket, there is a fish/shark hurricane/tornado for a few minutes, till all the dead fish gone and you go on and have a regular dive. The only wound I got was an urchin spine in a finger.

The only thing I can think of that's close is a night landing on a carrier. One pilot said, the three most satisfying things are peeing, a bowel movement and an org***, well on a night landing you can have are three.

Linda, what kind of sharks were they? I have to agree with others, I'm ok with nurse, horn, lepoard, and smooth grey, but the big guys, uh...no...lol!

Cecil, I'm sure it would be very heart pounding to do a shark feed but at this stage of my diving career I prefer the small nurse sharks sleeping in the coral in Bonaire. AND, if and when I do decide to do one then I want my choice of the 3 most satisfying moments...

BC, I'm not sure what they were. Reef sharks of some sort. We were on one of the Nekton boats. They had a few new employees learning the ropes, and didn't have enough DM's to do a feeding. Those shark just heard the boat and came up from the blue hole to investigate. I had to watch where I was in the water column to make sure I wasn't rising because of my breathing. Puff, puff, putt and up I would go. The chain at the beginning of the video is where the "boat people" usually attach the chum bucket.

Cecil, are/were you a pilot? I get all weak in the knees over air craft carriers. Love them. I got to see one when I was a little girl - way back when you could get a tour.

Kimo, those nurse sharks are mean if startled. Just don't go touching their tails while they sleep. If I can find the pictures I'm thinking of I'll post them for you.

Jerry, any pics of the sharks?? I guess I should never say never.. A year and a half ago I said I didn't have a desire to dive and now look, we are trying to decide what courses to take next and if we want to do Belize or the Caymans on our next trip.

Morning Gang - Cynde it's cool!!! It's a GLORIOUS day and I get to 'work' from home :-) :-) Not that I've gotten much work done, yet.
Yesterday we had a bbq that just turned out so well - even with the heat. We had the misters going in the beginning to cool things down - you can see them on the red umbrella
chow time!
and we had a small electric fan on the pole of the big green umbrella for those sitting at the bar
fun fun fun!!
And now for a little PORN for the women......
men who do dishes
OMG these two cleaned up my kitchen completely --- did all the dishes (well most!) The one on the left is a Roseville Dectective and the one on the left is a retired Montecito Firefighter.... YUMMMMMM!!!!!
LOL!!!

Linda I got to tour the USS Ronald Reagan this past year - outstanding experience!

Shark diving -- no thank you -- not the feeding kind anyway. It was amazing seeing them while diving in Bonaire and Catalina but I'll let them find their own food, thank you very much!!!!

Ah Boom, such nice pictures, I remember sitting under the umbrella at your bar......

It has cooled down here considerably, yesterday it was a mere 87 and the kids said it was too cold to go swimming, they got so used to the 100+ degree weather!
We have a lovely new family of birds that have built a nest on our deck, the eggs just hatched and we watch mama bird feeding them. They seem to be oblivious to us. If I can get close enough I will snap a picture, we can't seem to identify the type of bird they are. We checked all of our bird books and came up with nothing. The male is brown strip with an orange head and neck and the female is all brown stripe. They are a small bird, slightly bigger than a hummingbird.
