Donna, is there any upcoming vacation or event in your near future? I find that having something to work for helps. lol Like the women who work so hard to look good for their HS reunions. :-)

I've got a mini meet coming up that I don't want to have fat pictures taken of me at. :D

Anyway, I eat so boring - oatmeal for breakfast, and usually fish with a salad at lunch, nice healthy dinner - but my downfall is BREAD and BUTTER!!! Which is why I had to reward myself with some last night. And it was goooooood! But it was BAD! lol

Another thing, a girl here who just had a baby and is back to work is wearing a corset type girdle. She swears that it's giving her back her waist faster. Sure looks like it. She says it's not uncomfortable but I don't know....

Well, good luck to us all!

Patrick, Is there room for me to stand by you, too?
I haven't been sticking to it very well, butt (ha)I'm dealing with lots of stress here at work. This is my normal pattern - up and down. And I do love eating nutritious food - it's my favorite.

Morning all! Just keep at it, day at a time. We got our good days and then our days where we just gotta have that whatever it is to stop driving us nuts sweet.

I have been walking "just" about daily either 5, 3, and two miles (when it was so hot) the past two weeks, helped moved 8 ton of stones from driveway to my garden and still nada on the scale! Now, that is just wrong, I don't get it, been eating real good and all I get is maintaining weight, not losing. I am about ready to flip on that.

Today, did my walk, will be hand mowing front and back lawn, so metabolism should be moving, but with what I did the past two weeks, and mowing grass was in there too, I just keep on trucking, but beginning to think I have no metabolism as no weight is coming off. Told my hubby that I must be building some heck of a new kind of muscle or something. Not giving up, just can't figure out why no weight lost yet?

Debbie, I bet you're building muscle with moving all those stones. 8 tons!!! Wow! My back hurts just thinking of it.

Linda, I don't know, the stone was end of last week, been pumping up the mileage for walking for two weeks now, something should start moving. Moving that stone was not fun, my share of it was probably 3 tons as hubby can actually move it faster than I can, so he had two for my one kinda thing going on, but it does look nice in the garden.

Hey Gang its me your motivator, well let me tell you how my day went yesterday and don't forget were well into the 90's here and 92% humditity. Got up had my usual breakfast, 1/2 cup fibre 1,1/4 cup 1 % milk, 1 banana, and 1 130 cal bagel. went for a nice 6 k run(NOT) BUT WENT ANYWAYS, came back did 30 mins of stretching, went for a job interview which I got start Monday, then biked 14 k to my exercise class, did the 45 min circuit class then biked home 14 k picked up the car went to the pool and proceeded to swim 1600m with legs only, caloric intake for the day approx 1975 cals, water intake 4 litres, So today is an off (rest)day, so just an hour of stretch&strength @ home, then tonight my Wednesday night Hump day dive local DSD sites, So guys don't sweat the numbers with the heat it depends on the metabolism, you probably holding water, the main focus is watch the food intake keep the sodium content down the sugars down, I realize treats are good but pick the right treats, water melon berries cantelope mmmmm! I'm getting hungry again, watch the total calories in if the body thinks its being starved it will go into the recluse and start taking muscle for food, remember our bodies require a certain amount of calories just to exist(digest, think, etc.) and make sure your calories out outweigh the calories in, create the deficet( i can't spell today) ,so moving is a good thing regardless of the exercise. Guys make yourselves a target an and hold yourself accountable. Mine is August 17 the 1000 island Triathlon, I'm entered in the Sprint as a Clydesdale class, after that a 5 k race Armed Forces Race September 21 and then October 10 a 10k race the Fall Colours, one step at a time gang and good things will happen, anyone want more motivation?

I have to get hubby to post it for me. I don't do well with posting pics, so have to go take a pic of the garden and get him on it.

Bob, you're doing great! Congratulations on your new job! Can't believe you did all that yesterday in the heat, that's something. I am not sure what kilometers to miles thing is, but that sure sounds like a whole lot. Maybe I got to add more moving it, not sure I can get to what you are up to, but maybe will increase with biking it as well.

Bob,

I can't believe you ran 6K AFTER eating breakfast!

I have to run first. If I eat first, I get sick on the run..... been that way since college days.

Congrats on the progress. Triathlons are great fun - just wish I had the motivation to train and participate in them right now.

But..... maybe you ARE my motivation.

It's really hard to NOT be negative when your body's NOT perfect. Ann, if the verbage
works for you, that's awesome!!! Doesn't work for everyone; me for sure!

Donna, keep on keeping on girl. It will come to you just as it will to me. It has to be for you; not for us or hubby or an event. It's gotta be for you!!! I tell myself this all the time but so far I'm just not wanting it bad enough.

Bob,

I can handle the healthy eating part - although eating unhealthy is more fun.

Its the motivation for the exercise that gets me.

As an example: I ran last night after work. I set the alarm this morning to hit the pavement for a few miles, but was too lazy and laid in bed until I had to get up and get into the shop. I have appointments this evening, so I miss an entire day because of laziness..... I won't be able to run again until tomorrow morning.

I love running, biking, and swimming. I just can't get motivated to go as often as I should.

I know it's all mental - experts say that exercise is 90% mental and 10% physical. It's the mental part that gets in my way......
(that has to be setting somebody up for a comment)

:-) Donna,
You know, in who's eyes, we are perfect!!! At present, there's just a wee bit more of me to work with LOL!

When we talked (way back when) and you began these diet threads they were, and still are, great!!! Just having an avenue to vent/share/cheer is wonderful. I don't post often but do read daily.

I have vowed, to myself, to RE-RE-RE start my new eating lifestyle this weekend. Who knows?

Kobs, You go girl!! You CAN do it!! I don't know where my willpower got to and when I DO diet it doesn't seem to work as well....I have to get back into my clothes, though...so I WILL keep trying to move and eat right. I DO love food and NOT just the healthy stuff!

The best part of these threads is that we are all doing what works for us (even when it's not working LOL!). I love all the different points of view and usually glom on to something from each post --- you know the old saying "Take what you need and leave what you don't. Someone else may need that part!!"

I'm with you today Dave, I should have gotten on the tmill this morning but puttered around the house till it was time to go to the shop. Couldn't be late since I had an early meeting and here it is almost 9pm and we're still here at the shop. It's looking like it will be close to 10pm by the time we get home and get the fur-kids fed ~ so no workout today :-(

BUT!! Tomorrow is Circuit Training at the gym so I know I'll get my booty booted.

Let's keep striving to make our Present better than our Past and enjoy the journey and the company along the way!!
