Good Memorial Day Morning Everyone. Those in other nations, please excuse and indulge this proud American the thread title.

This morning I am off to walk with my daughter's high school band in the parade for the very last time because she's graduating. As much as walking around in the sometimes hot sun, sometimes cold and/or rain is a "pain", I truly appreciate all the little "small town" ceremonies that we witness and the "service set" of military songs the band plays...it sets the tone for remembering that this day was set aside to honor those who served and died so that we could have the freedom we do in the USA.....but a nice barbecue is good, too...so enjoy the day whatever you do!!

God Bless America

Good Morning all. I just got back from the cemetery and I placed flowers on my family's grave site.. Dad served in WWII so he got a flag.. We will have a parade here in town today as well..
Thank you to all veterans, those serving to protect our country's freedom and those that will serve in the near future.. you bring pride and honor to this country in a very difficult time. I salute you all..
thank you

We watched the National Memorial Day concert from Washington on PBS last night.

It was a very moving program. So many gave everything for what we have today.

Taps still brings on the tears.

I,too, enjoyed the concert on PBS last night. Thank you veterans and those currently serving and their families. We can enjoy our freedoms because of your sacrifice and dedication. Thank you dosen't seem enough but it is humbly offered and your service forever remembered and profoundly appreciated. God bless you all. HH

Good morning, and I hope you are all having a great memorial day weekend. :-) My husband is a veteran, so I'm glad he's at least off today! He usually isn't and I get to stay home and play while he works!

Want to show you a cool pic from yesterday at the beach in St. Pete with girlfriends. I've never gotten gulls to do this, so it was fun. :-) They wouldn't take them from anyone else's hand! lol

I wish all those families of Veterans who died in service a very special day of remembrance today - they gave the ultimate sacrifice as did you. Bless and Thank you.
Arlington West memorial in Santa Barbara

Guy and I will head out to the cemetery for a 11am service and then catch our parade -- good for you Donna for participating :-)
We still have to make it up to the Mission for the Italian Street Painting Festival but today is the day that all the paintings are finished.

Great shot Kathy, someone was quick on the camera!!!

PATRICK!!!! Hope your head is feeling better.

Happy Memorial Day! My personal veteran is at home, but I think he might get in a round of golf. Golf to him is like diving to me. :-) So Chrissy at Belmar (who is awesome!!!!) attached my new computer and off I went this morning. I chose Corp Meiss for the inaugural dive for the new gear. It was an amazing dive. Just north of the mooring buoy there is a coral head at about 33 feet and inside...a HUGE GREEN MORAY!!! He was incredible. I also saw three queen angels, three intermediate French angels, and one juvenile French angel (plus all of the usual suspects). It was a great dive. :-) Just wish I had a buddy to share that moray with. :-) :-) :-)

Morning all. Thank you to all the veterans (Michael's one as well):-) and to those serving our country.

Jim, how's Tim doing?

I am very proud of Dylon, he graduates in the honor class next week, and has been tutoring other students:-) He will then go from Mississippi to Texas for on hands training for three or four more months, then get his permanent (as permanent as it is in the military) base assignment. We are very proud of how he has grown. He and another airman have also sponsored a young boy in the special olympics, he's having fun with that too.

Here are pics of his graduation.

Another lazy day here waiting on Michael, it's been fun. I've been cooking, cleaning, nursing...I could get used to this!

Tom....you out there? I am still enjoying the post on funwall from Feb.2- the John Lee Hooker and Carlos Santana gig "Blues the Healer". I found the song and loaded it on my MP3 but it just isn't the same without the video. Did BH go to DC?

BC, doc was a childhood nickname- because of family circumstances I could not pursue that dream- so I became a cabinetmaker...I'm a first responder and dive rescue certified...does that count? I like your new profile pic...more sunlight and closer to nature!

Hi HH! I'm on a surface interval. Just finished Angel City and am headed to Bachelor's Beach. This is the first trip that I have headed south at Angel City and could probably do 30 dives that way. Wow! It is amazing!

HH...a cabinetmaker's a good gig:-)

Tribs, did you go to the second reef, head south, then turn around and go North back to the entrance? That's my favorite dive on Bon, especially at dawn...it's amazing! Oh, and please go clean the cam?

I'm just checking in.... we spent some time at the cemetery then the street painting festival. Now Guy is nestled in his chair resting his eyes and I'm making my grocery list.
Looks like hamburgers and hotdogs are on the menu for tonight.

EGADS!!! our little yellow cat just came in the house with a live mole!!! Where's Kobi - she's more experienced at this than I. I had to wake Guy up from his snooze to catch him. This morning he found a big alligator lizzard wandering from room to room.... my cat wants pets!!

Okay. Off to the grocery for me.... see ya'll later for a bbq!

Good afternoon everyone. Very warm day here in the NE, and windy! Yard projects going deadutt slow. I'm trying to get Louise to work a bit faster, as my icetea needs more ice. "Hey Louise, turn off the tiller and be a sweetie and get me some more ice." I got her a new rake with a Kungfu grip, she loves it. I think something is wrong, she's running at me with the rake with the Kungfu grip!

You never know what you'll find in a sponge. Here are two puffers, bigger one in the front, baby? in the back. They were "hunkered down".

Boom, your cat and my cat should get together and swap toys.
Yes, my b-day dives were quite unforgettable. I'll have to put something together about that trip. Timmmy, I wished I had your phone number, since we passed by Ft. Myers twice. Actually you should have come with. Or are you in NC?

Great toys! Yep...I went south on the outside and north on the inside. This has got to be one of the best dives!!! My changing of the guard dive today was Bachelor's Beach. I found the coolest eel out in the open by the mooring block. It was black with a yellow chain. Is that a chain moray???? I don't have my identification books with me. :-(

I was thinking about diving front porch tomorrow. If I do, I will swing by the cam and give it a cleaning. :-)

OMG! That was one funny type-o. I was reading about the cat toys and meant to type "Great pictures!" Ooops! I guess cat toys are great too. One of the cats here has decided that my hair is yummy. It is just like being at home. My Purrseus loves to chew on my hair.
