I am heading to Buddy Dive this weekend, can't wait. I want to keep my baggage light and would like to leave all of my alkaline batteries behind and purchase some when I arrive. Will this be a problem. I'll need about a dozen each of D and C cells. Where would be a good place to buy them when I arrive.

Blimey what are you powering with those. We have swapped all our dive lights to AA and AAA powered ones and use only rechargeable batteries. Bonaire also has a potential problem with used batteries and asks visitors to take the dead batteries home with them.

We sell batteries at most of the dive shops, groceries, gift shops, gas stations, chinese rest. and more. I generally ask that folks who do buy them from me, be sure to take them back to the US for disposal. I also have a bucket for used batteries that I also ask folks to "repatriate" them back to their home country

The bucket is a great idea, Michael. I alway pack out what I pack in. Just like camping.
